hi curry. may i ask how many tables are u having for your wedding dinner? thinking of asking for free night's stay for my helpers too... =)
 
Hi peeps! I just booked my banquet with them n apparently me n my htb didnt really ask for additional perks

but we r looking at 25 tables..melise told me she can only offer better perks if we take more tables.. Anyway rates for 2011 for 8 course is $728 nett n 9 course is $768 nett.. Getting more n more exp.. But really like their interior deco n only 1 ballroom so tat no other clashes with other weddings..
 
Curry n June, think hotel industry quite high turnover..
but ganesan quite sccomodating to our requests..
he is nice..
glad i had him coordinating my wedding..

Sashelle, i had 26+2 = 28 tables for my wedding n they gave me a free night's stay for my helpers too..
But no free breakfast for them so we exchanged our anniversary for lunch with them after the wedding day befoire we checked out..

Jawslyn, melise is banquet mgr or exe?
Cos we found negotiating wi banquet mgr is better but it's due to may, banquet exe resigned so ganesan, banquet mgr took over but he accomodated our requests even if we signed e contract with them..
 
Hihi, she's the banquet exe,maybe thats y.. She seems like can't negotiate much kind but initially when i email them abt the pricing they told melise would be the ptc.. Actually abit regret didnt read this thread earlier! But if i were to increase my number of tables in the future even though the contract has been signed for perks like helpers rm stay?
 
Jawslyn, actually we asked for helpers' room when we view the ballroom deco, wedding cards etc..

So there is will be room for negotiation..
 
Hi stacey.. Thanks..But we hv alrdy paid the deposit.. Maybe when we go down for selection of wedding cards n perhaps i gt increase in no. Of tables then we try to negotiate with them..

ganesan was handling my event also..kinda sad that he left..felt confident when he was around thou. hope all goes well eventually.

there's a A First Wedding Anniversary Dinner for two thus it's in a voucher form so we jus used it for our emcees' lunch before we checked out..

did you have rehearsals before your wedding? any idea on how much they charge for rehearsals ?

Only on actual day have e testing of e sound system, briefing by banquet mgr..
 
Akiko No rehearsals but we did went down to test the sound system and laptop few days before our wedding.

Stacey, i also tried asking for free room but they did not give me.

Ladies Make sure you ask for more chairs in your room when you are doin your makeup especially when your mum or sisters are doing makeup in your room.
 
Yam paste more difficult to do tht's y got charges bah..

lower ur expectations for actual due to e huge volume of food produced..

but sld not be too far off e mark..

My food tasting not so good but in the end the banquet's food very good... hahaha..

Chicken (red, with a bit of blood on the plate)
Prawn some not fresh..
then we requested to taste 2 different dessert but they only served one.

In all it's still ok. The banquet food is definitely better than my food tasting..
 
I am planning to hold my wedding banquet next year on sunday.I am aware the indian crowds ard...too bad dun think the hotel can do much..

can anyone can share with me the traffic on Sunday?
 
kristie, there will be a lot of crowds n traffic but since it's near e mrt station n jus leave it to ur guests to reach the hotel n park at e hotel..

e hotel got plenty of lots for them..

jus enjoy ur day.. I can survived Deepavali eve, so can u survive a sunday.
 
We also signed up the banquet package at Parkroyal @ Kitchener Road.

They quoted us with good package as we will hold at least 30tables; hence all freebies given are based on min 30 table (9 course) let me know if otherwise:p

1) $768/ table
2) 1 bottle of red wine per table + additional 10 bottles of red wine
3) 2 nights stay at deluxe room (wedding couple) early check-in
4) 1 night stay at deluxe room (family)
5) 1 bottle Remix Martin VSOP

but what we feel pissed off about is the no. of projectors they promised to give us. Default is 2 projectors but since we told them we might hold up to 40 tables then Melise promised to give us at least additional 1 projector or up to 2...but when everything is confirmed and after we made the deposit payment then she said max only 2 projectors..... -_-

We are still trying hard to bargain with her since this is what she promised us..

7) 1 thank you table (6 dishes)
8) 2 nights stay at deluxe room within southeast asia
9) 1 night stay on 1st anniversary at deluxe room

For mine which is confirmed on may 2008 for wedding on dec 2009, my package is as follow

658 per table (8 course)

$100 for wedding invitation card printing
2 night stay at suite
1 anniversary dinner
deduct $500 directly cos we dun wan the travel voucher
 
ladies,

I would encourage you to get Standard Chartered Manhanttan Card if you are planning to charge to your credit card.

As they have 5 % offset to your bill if you charged at least $3000 to your card quarterly. max rebate for quarter is $300

For mine i had quite a good rebate as my hubby and I uses our own card to sign $6000 each hence we have $300 rebate wach and as well as that time have promo for the 15% rebate for dinning privillege hence around $300 rebate. So we still save quite a lot.
These can be used to offset your next bill.

not $668 for 8 course? actually giving $100 for wedding card invitation card printing is unheard of so it's very good too..

wow..your deals is really good..guess their sale is improving..banquet booked now for next year will be charged based on next year price... and looks like not so many free perks throw in now

it depends on e timing u book e banquet n e promotions at tht point of time.

Hi suggest u may consider to book by 30 June since there is promo now I booked for next yr banquet this year, this year price is 768 for 8 course then next year price is 808 for 9 course also but with the uob promo we managed to get old price for next year banquet=p hope this helps
 
Stacey, is it 658 or 668? hahaha forgot liao...

Just to add on to the manhattan card. This card would be good if you are spending in one shot. for more info check with standard chartered ba.
