I am thinking of transfering my weekday package at Novotel. I signed up in 2006 before their show and got a fantastic package.

thanks for the info. So sad cos I actually booked NCQ last year Dec for my AD in Jun 2008. That time I try to negoiate with jamie for some perks like one more night stay, but she say cannot and is very firm. Because last year their wedding show is in Sep and hence when we meet they said their wedding show just over so won't be having another wedding show so soon. If we have to wait till Sep this year we tot might be too late so we just booked last Dec.

Then now in Mar they have this wedding show again and we din get any perk at all. So feel quite disappointed.
 
lingandyang, dun be so sad lah, i do feel that jamie is quite firm with her perks given to us. As i request to have helper room she said cannot and ask me to give up 1 nite stay for that. i m making payment tmr at the road show as well.

Did anyone successfully got some extra perks from Jamie?

I'm trying very hard also. I mean the fact that they are able to provide 2 nights stay and compilmentary tables, means that the current package which we have signed is not the best offer.

The only good thing about the package it's the date that we have chosen. And that's pretty much it. Are the gd dates supposed to have a surcharge tagged to it as well?

I am also in the same dilemna. I actually wanted to sign up for Nov 2008 package tmw but was told by Jamie that I would not be able to enjoy the perks since it is only valid for June 2008 & before wedding banquet.

As the perks can help to save about 1k, dunno whether to wait till the next wedding show in Sept'07 to book. But then, my date would have been taken up. =(

yah i'm thinking of going down tomorrow to the wedding show and see if can further negotiate or not. Cos in my case really felt a bit being mislead that they will not be having wedding show so soon that's why we sign up. If we know now they are having wedding show again we would have wait since only 3 months away.

But of course i foresee this is quite impossible. But just trying my luck tomorrow.

Maltese_lover, yah we are in the same boat wo. We also scare our date being taken so decided to sign up quick. But the perks are really attractive.

hi maltese.. dates are all veri hot leh.. many dates in june are taken up.. let u all noe which is not available liao.. mine is phoenix ballroom thus i'm not sure abt cinnamon room.

june 1, 7, 15, 21 all gone. 7th and 21st as taken up by rac and lingandyang

hope this does help the rest of the ppl who are planning so tat if they had planned these dates.. then can re-select another few if possible if not have to change hotel if date not possible to change

just signed up with novotel at the roadshow on friday. AD will be on the 15th june 07, cinnamon.

Yes, agree jamie very firm on giving perks. I thk she just wan to be fair to everyone.

I am having my ROM in May. Since I already booked my wedding package with Jamie, do u think she'll be able to lend out some place for us to do the solemnization?

After that go to Tung Luk and have some dim sum! hahaha :P

Actually i have been looking for 11 Oct 08 but unfortunately it have been taken a day before me during the show and i have tentatively booked 01 Nov 08. have not yet pay deposit, should be going down by this week for payment.

Do you all think that it's too early for booking this hotel?
 
hi winnie,

i would think should not be a pro as we also request to have a function for our solemnisation before out luncheon. As long as there is no booking of the room, should not be too much to ask for it as complimentary :-)

Can you pls share with me the perks that Jamie offers and the waiver of wine charge??

I think the package is quite standard for those who sign at wedding show.

There will be either free flow of beer or per wine per table. For the pheonix ballroom, every 30 tables confirmed, there will be a table free. Extra one night stay in bridal suit, there is a corkage charge of $15 per wine.
The rest is quite standard.

I'm planning in NCQ too. Mine is targeted on Nov/Dec 2008. Will it be too soon to book now? I'm thinking to take advantage during wedding show [to get better perks or extras] since it is mentioned here that the show is on Sep.
Plus, would like to ask what is the package like for end 2008, since the price shown is till June08? Anyone can share?

I have gone down to NCQ to mit Safie this afternoon to discuss on phoenix ballrm for my banquet... was quite disappointed cos the perks are standard, n nt as mani as those who signed up at the wedding show...

reali regret not making the decision last sat...

from what i understand... there will not be any free table upon confirmation of 30 tables... extra night at bridal suites also no more... so everything go back to normal.....

sigh.................

Floral... if u target to have ur wedding in nov/dec 2008, better start looking at it if u r very particular abt dates... if any other available dates is alrite to you, then maybe u wanna wait till the next wedding show then sign up... otherwise u may need to act fast.

i understand fr safie this afternoon that mani ppl are calling up to enquire abt dates and all for the 2nd half of 2008 le... (jus like myself n maltese lover)

FYI, after my mtg with SAfie, he told me he still have afew other apptment wif other couples.. (although he din mention to me which yr these couples are targetting at)

the package NCQ offer is quite standard & comparable to Merchant Court. We didn't book during the wedding show as we can't confirm the date as the tong shu for 2008 not publish yet.

the perks sounds good during the show. it will b wasted that we are not entitle to these perks.

personally, i do not find NCQ package comparable to Merchant Court. MC quoted >800 for weekend whereas NCQ >700.

btw, how much for deposit needed to NCQ?

I agree with u, NCQ & MC cannot be compare (not apple to apple comparison ler)...

n i totally agree w some of you that the perks offered at the roadshow is so much more interesting that the normal standard package...

and i m sure, there are mani who are like me who had missed the boat and regret nt signing up at the roadshow...

i have discussed with my hubby and we have more or less decided to commit ourselves for next oct... but is there anyway to ask for more perks??

meet Safie and he keep repeating himself, telling me, no extra perks can be given as the package is nett price and unlike other hotels.

jus to enquire if any of u here being given any helper room for day use??

jus wanna share my findings..
(a) 1 hotel room for helper use (without staying overnight) is charged at $100+++
(b) 1 hotel room for helpers use and to stay overnight is abt $180+++
(c) extra night stay at the execusive/bridal suite is abt $600+++ to $800+++

By the way, to share with you. i have Booked 01 Nov 08 (SAt). My view is prices might increase on the second half of 2007 for package of 2008 and good dates will be taken up.

for wedding show, what i see from past, the best deal they throw in is 1 complimentry table and extra nite of suite. by doing some calculation for per table charge you only save $35 per table.

($748 X 30 - $748 - $300 /30 )= $713/tab

If you are looking for auspicious's date, My advise is go for the dates that you want den saving $35 or else you will end up spending more in other hotel if the dates have been taken up.

you can try to talk to jamie, i guess she will be able to give you more.
 
all girls, my hubby called NCQ and discussed with Jamie on extra perks... however did nt succeed...

was told by her that 'the hotel have no such practice"

guess everything is quite standard nw... no means no.. which will be more fair to others as one of the ladies said...

i'm thinking of having it on Nov08. not sure whether it has been taken up. i have not gone to any shifu to see which date is suitable for us too. moreover, i have not make appt with Jamie or anyone to talk on the terms and conditions [just got the package last month].

my frens even ask why am i so "kan-jiong" as it is more than 1.5yrs to go. haiz...

i may meet up w NCQ next month when i'm more confirm on the date.

u can always call Jamie to check on the availability of the date u r looking at...

as for getting the dates from shifu... i was also tinking of gg to shifu but i m wori all the calculation too troublesome, so decided to settle everything ourself based on soem guide from online calculation..

so if u r nt so particular then maybe u wanna consider mtg the hotel coordinators to find out more while gg to the shifu.

i was at Novotel last sat. my apptmt w Syafie was at 3pm and we chat till abt 4pm where he meet the next couple.

i recalled seeing a couple when hubby n i take another look at the reception area. I remember clearly that lady was snapping picture... Is that you??
