Hi, I'm in a situation whereby I booked a banquet venue and paid the deposit already. Then 2 weeks later, I decided to go and try out the food on my own before the food tasting, then I found out the guy who I liase with, had left the place.
Then after some conversation with the new guy, we were told our room for our date is taken already by another couple as the guy forgot to secure the date for us. I check with the prev guy on our date at least 3 times. Then now, they put the blame on the guy who left and they just say they will refund our deposit.
But the qn is, does it mean all wedding banquet reserves the right to cancel our banquet after paying deposit without any penalty on their side? So, if someone else with a better specs (more tables) will override the prev one? Not that I will go to fight for my rights, just to prevent it from happening with the next one.
