Need Some Advice - Divorce / Annulment / Counselling

Hi All,

Hopefully can get some advice here.

I've been married 2 years plus. My wife and I have some differences and our quarrels have been getting more and more heated. It seems that we both have our stands and neither is willing to give way. (well, usually I give in but after some time quite fed up when I see her not making any effort to improve).

I know some quarrels can seem very petty but I think I've reached my limit. I may not be the best man in the world but I dun think I deserve to be treated by my wife this way.

I was hoping to get some counselling first from the FSC as they do have this service. However, I think my wife is not open to the idea as she keep insisting that I have the problem, and not her.

Anyone tried counselling before? What happens if my wife is not cooperative? Will the counsellor be able to come to my house?

I really need a mediator. I am already prepared for the worst case scenario if everything fails but I fear that the divorce will also be very messy as my wife is quite the stubborn type (even her own mother cannot handle her). How do I speak to a woman like her?

Hi blitzgear,

I can understand how u feel. My other partner is also not receptive to counselling, and keep insisting the problems lies with me. We went to a few sessions (i managed to onvince her then). I also went alone myself for a couple of sessions. It takes two to solve the root of the problem. Alone one cannot almost make it.

So is yours a success story? Is it easy to get hold of the counsellors?

Actually my wife is an ok person. But occasionally temper can be very bad, stubborn and she cannot handle criticism well (not only from me, from her own family too). Initially I thought I can handle her, but it is really wearing me down.

Still very wobbly now for my case..patience and the ability to remain calm under duress (dun flare up or ans back loudly to your partner's argument)is important in such situation..

cheers
