Mixing female and male laundry together

Just curious... any of you (or your parents or ILs) believe that female and male clothing shouldn't be mixed in the laundry? I believe this is a superstition that the males will be down on their luck if clothing is mixed.

my MIL just mention cant wash female undies with all the clothes. and undies must be hang in the corner of the laundry area.. so tt guys wont be able to go under them accidentally. as for clothes, we norm mix them together even with bras.

erm, i just have to accept it. his dad is a devoted Buddhist and pray every 1st and 15th of the lunar calendar. so i can't say no to this rule.
however when i first move in with his family, i wanted to buy a small portable washing machine n place it inside our room toilet, just for washing my undies. and wanted to hang e undies in my room toilet to dry bcos of all e gstrings im wearing. but i choose not to in the end, as i still prefer to put it under e sun. end up, i just buy a small cute pile with cover from diaso and put all my undies inside and only wash once a week. i will also use the common washing machine to rinse and spin dry my undies..

so far no noise from my MIL. any problems that u r facing??

It was the first time that it happened to me but I was told to handwash my own undies... cannot put into washing machine to wash with the rest of the clothes... so I'm a little intrigued by why.

it's just a belief that washing female undies together with guys clothes will bring them bad luck. as to why such a belief i do not know the myth behind it.

i also handwash my own undies, but i still use e machine to rinse n spin dry my 'already cleaned' undies.

Apparently my dad also dun like the idea of my undies to mix with their clothes. So now i dun bother and just soak n wash with my own clothes. Hahahaa

My mom also.. we separate our btm and undies from my dad's clothes in another pill.. Oh well..
Luckily FMIL very chin chai to wash everything together.. But I'm used to washing my undies first before dumping in to the laundry basket.. Old habits die hard..

Hahahaa. Coz i have a small separate pail to soak.. and then soak again wif my clothes... i still do handwash too.. hahaha

wash your own undies. Its better not to wash in the machine if you want it to last. I wash my socks, underwear and sports clothes every workout. Sometimes, checking the laundry for my boy and wife's ones as well. Other generic clothes, the helper does it. Just do it in your own toilet, who and how is anyone going to monitor who wash what?

My family n bf family also separate clothes when using machine or handwash.
