Max coil mattress.. Heard before??

Hi prinzess when you say mattress cover do you mean a protector or bedsheet?
By using the mattress cover(if it is a protector) you are actually reducing the comfort of the memory foam and if you can feel the pocketed spring when there is a layer of memory foam then there is something wrong.
Because end of the day it's the comfort of the memory foam that makes you sleep.Your body weight is absorbed by the top layer so you shouldn't be able to feel the springs.
Btw if anyone is interested in good advice and free knowledge do email me [email protected] as i have been reading about the pricing and honestly feel sad when i know that lower prices are available in the market.

its the protector..

its given or so called come FREE i didnt say must use...

the memory foam... give me the comfort .. but i mean you can still feel that there is support by the pocket spring of course not the same as directly sleeping on the pocket spring that kind of feeling..

there is diff type of specs like what i said....

anyway i do not mean to promote that shop just that as i know diff places carry Max Coil of diff specs .. so well.. this is just another choice.. and i did mentioned... i might be buying more exp..

hi prinzess and all,i would say u bought at a very good price, cos i get my friends to go home2be at liang court for their furniture but to their surprised, they are displaying more than 100 models of mattress to chose from.the mattress u mention at 1599 is cheaper than those u all have mention.becos he got it at 1899 from somewhere else.i bought my stuff from home2be too..those who are looking for mattress can try there.

Shopping for a mattress for my daughter & came across a 6in Max single full synthetic latex mattress in both IMM & a furniture shop in Tradehub. Specs & looks wise seems the same but pr diff is $130. Both has the sanitize & 12-yrs warranty labels on them together with the words "Max Coil" embossed onto the mattress cotton fabric. Only diff is one label says "Max Coil, Ortho Comfort, Non-flip, Synthetic Latex" while the other says "Max (without the word Coil), Full Synthetic Latex". 1 other diff (maybe psychological though) is the more expensive 1 seems softer. Does anyone know (particularly Charles since you seems to be the expert in this) if these are 2 diff models (& hence the $130 pr diff ) or are they the same mattress with diff names? Is Max Coil & Max the same?

Another pt is 1 shop says the mattress has holes for ventilation while the other says their model does not. My impression is all latex mattresses (full or synthetic) have holes for air circulation otherwise can become rather warm. Am I right or are there models w/o holes as told by the latter salesperson?

Cheaper price quoted is $550. Is this a good buy or can I get it cheaper elsewhere?

1)If it is synthetic latex than there is no holes at all.
2)The softness and firmness depends on the design of the top surface layer and how often the mattress has been tested(how season it is).
3)Max is a reg trademark.
4)I suggest you have a look around first before deciding. There are a lot of shops selling this brand in Singapore.

If anyone is looking for Reverie mattress that can only be found at Ackerman, it is the same as Max Pocketed Spring with Synthetic Latex Pillow-Top.
If you got chance take both mattress and place them together. The feeling is the same.

Hi Charles, thanks for your prompt reply.
1) Does that means the salesguy sian me when he said that model has holes in it? The other salesguy says latex mattress can get quite warm. Is that true (even for syn latex)? Quite concern abt it as my daughter perpires very easily but we like the softness of the mattress.
2) As for softness, not 100% sure if 1 is truly softer. Tested both on diff days but both wife & I felt the expensive 1 is softer though we think cheaper 1 is soft enuf.
3) So if I see Max or Max Coil on the label, it's from the same co?
4) In yr opinion, think likely the 2 are the same juz called diff names? Asking becos read your earlier post regarding not looking at model names but compare specs. Dun understand why the co wld have diff model names for the same pdt? Isn't it confusing for buyers?

Hi Richie sorry for the late reply,
1)I have no idea if he "sian" you but real latex will have holes, synthetic latex cant have holes.
Real latex is more cooling than syn ones.
2)Since both is synthetic latex than i dont see why one is more soft other than one is more "season" then the other.
3)Yes,same company
4)From my understanding these 2 should be the same model other than having different names.
Companies have different names for the same mattress leading to customers being unable to find the same name else where and have to go back and get from them that mattress. It is supposed to confuse buyers because the customers cant find the same model name so they have to "LL" and go back to get it.Because of that they can earn more just for that label and name.

also saw the MAxCoil pocketed spring Q-size mattress with (most likely synthetic) latex pillow top mentioned by SusanY. other feathers include anti-mosquitoes, anti-dustmie.
is $799 a good buy?

I just bought a queen size mattress MAX "sleep haven" mattress with a 2" latex layer with pocketed spring, supposedly to have anti dustmite and anti mosquitoes feature too.

bought it somewhere near bugis at $1168 inclusive of 2 latex pillows and a divan. actually also include a free mattress protector, but the salesman says that sleeping on top of the mattress protector will affect the feel of the latex layer.
the mattress felt pretty good and comfy when i tried it.

Has anyone bought this model of MAX mattress?
Is the price reasonable or have I overpaid for it?

Originbaby, latex is different from memory foam. another name for memory foam is visco elastic (i think!)

Speaking of mattress protectors, are there any waterproof ones? We are in the process of sourcing around for our mattress and bed and there is so much of things to look into!

well let me give u all some advices i have done research for the 3 Ss(simmons ,sealy, serta).

For simmons they r renowned for the support for their original pocketed coil technolgy .Simmons is the first that bring in individual pocketed coil decades ago it is the orginal only orginal pocketed coil are pre-compressed. I know u all dont understand. For example when we pre-compresses a coil from a 7 inches(Simmons have the highest coil height in the market) to a stardard height simmons set, the coil actually will be insisting on getting up so we slp on the mattress we can feel the support.Imported from USA,Japn,Korea,Canada,OEM malaysia,OEM China n OEM Thailand

Sealy entered Singapore market not very long Sealy are renowned for their Posturepedic coil we call it open coil all the coils are fully connected with wire.Posturepedic coil have sensory arm n triple off set it is said to be able to adjust to the correct alignment for our body.Sealy mattresses are mostly very comfortable.Sealy is the world's best selling mattress. Total Sales figures (world no. 1) Sealy + its two other sub companies.Sealy also have very wide price range(cheap to very expensive)as compared to Serta n Simmons. Most range Asemble in Thailand.Only some Unicase(expensive) from USA

Serta is the youngest in Singapore mattress industry compare with the other 2.Serta is renowned for its mira coil technology is also name open coil fully connected with wire among the coil, n their comfort level for mattress. If serta says it is no.2 no one dare to compete with it for comfort level. But Serta these recent years did come out with their pocketed coil series for their mattresses.Serta did also won the title (We make the world's best mattress). Most range asembled in indonesia. practise OEM(original equipment manuafacturing). Some from USA.

Well If u wanted support higher can go for Simmons,if u wanted Comfort level higher go for Sealy or Serta open coil are used to make soft n comfortable mattresses. If you want support n no motion transfer between u n ur partner can go for Individual pocketed coil.If u only more concern about enjoying of comfort level 3 minutes before u slp u can go for open-coil Sealy or Serta.Only Simmons USA range can be compatible to Sealy n Serta for the comfort level. If u r more concern about the 8 hrs of sleep u will need good support u can go for Simmons.Choose a mattress according to what your needs.Hope it will help u to choose a mattress wisely

James, just dropped you an email.

How do we identify the model? I thought memory foam only got 1 model according to http://www.maxcoil.com.sg/memory_foam.htm

We saw the 100% memory foam one, cost $1299 with free memory foam pillows and mattress protector, credit card payment with free delivery, what's the best price you can get for us?

Will memory foam very HOT like latex? That guy told us this particular model from Maxcoil has 1 layer of fibre or dunno what on top just to get rid of the heat, is that true? dun want to turn on aircon just because of this mattress.....

hope you can help
