MM has 4 ballrooms in total..
Level 1 - 3 ballroom
Level 5 - 1 ballroom

The level 1 ballrooms are adjoining...
due to sound insulation issue, they will only hold 1 wedding at a time...
so usually they will open up all the partition for a big grand ballroom...
=)
and if i'm not wrong, at any point in time, there will only be a maximum of 2 weddings...

me and bf went to marina to view the main ballroom at level 1... all is gd except that the march in is really short....

... suggest u check with ur coordinator to see if there's any weddin fair comin up or if they cld extend the additional perks fr the prev weddin fair for u
mi coordinator is very nice and gave me the perks even thou i signed up with them onli after weddin fair

... just tell them u r really interested
u can try askin for the following, but mite or mite not get them
1. more complimentary parking and cards
2. corkage waiver
3. more beer (they usu give free-flow of beer or 1 bottle of wine per confirmed table at weddin fairs)
4. additional night stay
5. helpers' room (depends on whether yours is a dinner or lunch)

thanks for ur post on pan pac & mm too.. was considering between this two.. haiz.. headache.. dnt noe which to choose.. both also not bad, just that mm has a shorter march in.. i am having wedding lunch too.. both pan pac & mm coordinator was ok to mi... but pan pac gives mi better food.. wat abt urs? wat food u choose for mm ne?? no shark fin & suckling pig rite?? hee..

i chose the normal menu fr MM
... not goin for shark's fin coz FH in marine biology industry and is against it ...

pan pac "hai tian lou" i thk is famous too.. but i heard MM serve good food too.. hee... my menu doesnt come with shark fin... is oni soup.. i m afraid guest will thk its cheap skate.. haha.. i wonder how long the march in takes, as its so short.. haha.. must walk very slow le.. actuali both place i m also comfortable with.. haiz.. so contriditing rite.. haha...

Just thought of adding a word of compliment in here for MM, since our wedding in June 09. Had been participating this thread since our booking of the ballrm 1.5 yrs ago and thought it's time to show our heartfelt thanks to MM staff for all their assistance.
FYI, we had our wedding at the smaller ballrm, Vanda. Though smaller, yes lower ceiling, but the extraordinary service added perks to it which we felt is the most important for the big day. Little hiccups and most of our requests acceded to. Our wedding coordinator, banquet manager and hotel helpers were all smiley and mostly attentive to our needs.. Kudos to them !!!
As for the food.. so far only heard good words from our guests, no complaints..(not that they are bias, cos they did complain on other aspects, not on the hotel though) so we guessed it's not that bad but nice. We changed some of our dishes after our food tasting and all seemed to turn out well, though we had little chance to taste it on the day.
Suite - although a little small as compared to some other hotels, but everything was comfy enuff and we had 2 nights of stay for our package (which usually for other hotels is one night).
Generally we felt pampered and had a great time for our solemnisation by the poolside before the dinner. Though simple, but it was memorable and touching for us.
All the best for btbs for their wedding in 2009 and hope all of you will have a gd experience too !

...hey ging3r the max capacity is 30 tables, it would be just nice, about 2 tables maybe 1-2 seats cannot see clearly. 28 is a nicer number.

hiya .. i went to MM today to choose theme ... was quite disappointed coz this year's theme so so onli ... and weddin favours are not nice too ... goin down to supplier's shop to see if got nicer ones ... then do top up ... wish mi luck ... will keep all informed ...

We tot it would be similar to what Meritus Mandarin is offering...
but to our horror...
it's different in terms of taste and presentation...
the meat is very, very dry and tough...
no one could finish their bowl of chicken...
& the presentation of the dish is really bad...
imagine 1 whole chicken served inside a glass bowl on a white plate... =(
so we decided to change to crispy chicken...
had it at the wedding fair...
quite tender and juicy.... =)
other than this dish, the rest of the dishes are yummy!
BTW, we removed the shark's fin soup and replace with a seafood soup...
the seafood soup turns out very nice!
Lots of ingredients to chew on... =)
everyone [except my mum... *_* ] thought that it a refreshing dish to replace the shark's fin soup... =)

hi everyone~ i have also signed up with MM for the Vanda ballroom in June next year!
Love the cosy feel but now im stuck with the increase in guest list (dad just dropped the bomb!) From 28 tables in total, its now 34 tables!!! yeeks........
