Hi,

Can I find out if anyone else who requested a quotation from Marina Bay Sands received an offer of extension on their 2010 price for weddings held before Jun 2011?

I requested for a quotation back in late 2009, was sent a 2010 package price, and then in early Feb 2010 was told that they would extend the 2010 price list if I had my wedding prior to Jun 2011 and confirmed before March 2010. Now (when it's not March yet), I am being told that the 2011 price list will take immediate effect, and they will no longer offer the 2010 prices.

Hardly seems like a most professional thing to do, so I wanted to know if I'm the only one that's been played out in the middle of planning for my wedding.

I should be signing up with sands soon this week before the prices for their wedding lunch increase like their dinner. I have to say that they're not very flexible in their perks but still slightly better than resorts world's perks.

Hi laceyblink, the pricelist sabrina listed is for dinner, before the recent price increase.

I've signed up with Sands for wedding lunch too. But the perks are quite sticky like you mention, fiance and I are unable to anything more from what's listed.

I had sent in my first enquiry several months ago (including my request for the date), and had a site inspection in May. However, up till today, there's no follow-up reply from Michele as we are supposed to keep waiting (till don't know when) for the weekday date (in March 2011) to be approved by the MBS management.

MBS weekday package may be published but they need management approval that may take ages to confirm. So if your big day falls on a weekday, I suggest you may like to consider keeping your venue options open before your formal agreement with MBS is confirmed.

hi hazel, im not sure if michele is swamped with work right now.. but she was slightly more prompt in meeting my HTB and I before she move over to MBS.

after checking on the avaliability and handling the cheque for our deposit, she took about a couples of weeks to send us the formal agreement.

however, we yet to see the ballroom yet.

hi all, went for site visit back in May 2011. Fyi, the ballrooms are quite a walking distance from the hotel rooms, may not looked too glam walking ard in ur gown.

jensen, how's the ballroom? im looking forward to view the ballroom.

on the contrary, i was secretly hoping i can 'catwalk' around in my gowns from the hotels. but coordinator will arrange a seperate function room for our changing during the banquet.

Hi Lissy, I have seen the ballroom. It looks grand. Lol, you can "catwalk" if u walk to and back from the hotel.

Yes, the separate room can be used for you and your helpers who need to change.

Hi Lissy,

I have not log in here for sometime.. Just went to view the ballroom last week. hmm...I will said the ballroom is nice, but not as grand as i expected lor ...was able to view the table set up too cos there was a wedding on that day, the set up is very nice. I am just a bit feeling dissapointed with the ceiling lighting, was expecting a crystal like lighting, but it is not lor..but the corridor area has very big and grand crytal lighting instead...Nice!
Will be going for my good tasting end of this month too

hi laceyblink, great to see you again!

i totally agree with you. when the coordinator showed us around the ballroom the other day.. i was satisfied with the ceiling height, until we exited through the other door near the restrooms.. and i ask why didnt they use the corridor crystal lightings inside the ballroom instead?

have you picked your color themes or choice of wedding favours already?

Hi all.... I'm deeply considering MBS to hold my wedding function... Any feedbacks about the taste of food??? The whole atmosphere n theme? Do the guests have to walk very far from carpark to the main venue?

Hi

My name is Jarls from Singapore and I am an undergraduate at a Hospitality Management school in Switzerland. For my undergraduate dissertation, I am looking at the negotiation behaviour of prospective wedding couples looking to hold their wedding banquet at 5-star hotels in Singapore.

Your response is kindly appreciated and will aid in the completion of my paper.

This survey will take up 15-20 minutes of your time.

Thank you.

@Sherralyn,
The food its ok during our food tasting. Not sure yet for the actual day. Very filling i would say. Walk from carpark its actually quite ok. Not so far in my opinion as long as your guest park at the convention side carpark instead of hotel carpark. My uncle's took sometime to find the carpark though. Just my 2 cents.

hihi!!does any brides or btb reviews or photos for wedding at junior ballroom to share?

thought of holding my wedding at mbs for about 250 pax next year. the suite and hotel should be really nice, but have heard some bad reviews too..
1) that ballroom is far from hotel (for change of gowns)
2) food portion is small
3) ballroom is difficult to find as MBS is huge
4) carpark limited

any idea who are the florist that mbs works with?

Hi Liquidzza,

1) A nearby function room will be converted into your dressing room
3) Ballroom is not difficult to find unless it's your first time there. The place is big but if you get your directions right, there shouldnt be any problem
4) Carpark is huge

Hi Dandelion

Thanks so much for sharing! are you a btb yourself or bride at mbs? =)

hee i didnt mean the carpark is small, but because it is always full so difficult to find a lot! ive decided to book my wedding at mbs already. the table setup and height of ballroom is nice!i like their favors, wedding cards and have nothing to pick on, except they are very strict with their wine corkage. dont allow waiver at all, and its $50++ per bottle for the fee...they dont allow to bring in hard liquor as well...

and deposit is shocking $8000!!

Hi Liquidzza,

Yup, I am MBS bride.
Decided on MBS after visitng RWS and Amara Santuary.
Previously, I find it so hard to find information on RWS and MBS so I thought I should share my information here.
You can choose the wine corkage under "wish".
Hmmm, at least the car park is big and I dont think there will be any issues. Nowadays, everywhere is difficult to find car park lot...
