Anybody has held lunch at the Garden Suite before? I'm holding a lunch at Garden Suite and a dinner at the Atrium on 14 Sept

xiaolubao.. my lunch is on 7th sept and dinner on 13 sept.. both at garden suite..

i seen the garden suite with actual 14 tables setting (didnt manage to take pic, i explored myself when i happen to ard there).. if you are worried abt space, rest assured that its still spacious.. i saw a small set of sofa at the corner of the room..
 
Hi all:

I will be booking with Oriental for my wedding on Sept 6. We will have about 10 tables at the Garden Suite.

Went there on Valentine's Day prior to a wedding starting. Looks very romantic with the "love" theme. Although I do not quite like the way the floral bouquet is designed for the centerpiece. Too round and tight. Prefer something more loose and trailing. Wonder if this can be modified?

Any input on the other different themes?

sorry I do not drop by this thread because I am busy moving in my new house.

My wedding on 4th jan went smoothly. Everything was better than I expected. I was very impressed with the banquet manager Cha Lee. He with 2 other asst banquet managers make sure all my guests are well taken care of. He even assign a girl just to follow me around and hold my gown. All my guests are very happy and impressed with the food and service. Thumbs up for Mandarin Oriental!!!
 
it looks cool in real life.. its a little dark, my camera not good for dark shots.. this was taken at their wedding show last october.
 
hi phoebe, sorry for the late reply - have tentatively fixed my date on end dec 08 at the oriental ballroom, preps kinda came to a standstill cos we're both so bz.. coordinator's sandy and i'm very happy with her so far, she's the best i've met among all the hotels i've visited with HTB.

gonna take photos in july, very excited!! when's ur big day?
 
allykat.. i'm having mine at their poolside this sept.. i'm not sure how the decor is going to be like, i think shldnt be too bad..

the pool will still be open to hotel guest, signage put up at the entrance to guide my guests also to inform hotel guest its used for a function .. i doubt the hotel guests will remain there in their swim wear with 30-50 people looking at them.. if they dun mind, of cos i also welcome them
 
hello all,

I plan to have a wedding lunch reception at Garden Suite for Dec 08 and currently in new york and wont be able to view the place.

I have a colour-scheme that i would like to use for the wedding, if anyone has an experience how to follow up on these things

My contact from Oriental is Adeline, and she gave me the 4 themes they have @ oriental but its not details enough.

Anybody had done the same before and care to share some experiences and pics, would be greatly appreciated!

I need HELP !!!

I had spent 3 days personally visiting 6 hotels and now down to 2 choices. I like Oriental for its wonderful themes esp the Dream and the Love theme, though the price is pricey and abit out of my range.

I need help on the perks extended to me, as well as the payment schedule. My package is the Atrium Suite and i need to know whether I got a fair package or not, from my coordinator.

Can any advisor pls PM me their package for 2008? Or can I PM someone to advise abt my package ?

Hi totoro gal, I've signed up with Oriental for lunch package. The standard is a 7 course event which will add up to be abt $800+ after tax. I'm adding one more course so total will be about $900+ after tax. Hope this helps!

Has anybody received this payment T&C from Oriental ? Is this normal for all hotels or for Oriental only?

Deposit Required : 5k NETT
50% of total function charges payable 1 month prior to event
Pre authorization for 40% of total estimated function charges required 2 weeks prior to event
 
Totoro gal, this is the standard pmt term for Oriental. But Im taking the garden suite so only required to pay the balance (after the $5k deposit) after the banquet..

I am sorry for asking so many questions abt Oriental wedding. Cos my coordinator is like, push abit tell abit, dont push dont tell kinda person. She is generally ok la...but i am abit afraid after seeing some negative comments abt her in the earlier thread.

Hope u gals dont mind me posting so many questions ok,cos my wedding is v near and i havent settled my hotel yet =)
 
Totoro gal, the deposit is $5k nett.

As for "50% of total function charges payable 1 month prior to event", maybe can work out with your coordinator? My coordinator allow us to pay in advance of 2-3 weeks.

"Pre authorization for 40% of total estimated function charges required 2 weeks prior to event" I dont rem I have this rule and also my coordinator nv tell me about it.

As for perks, not so nice to share here as everyone is getting different perks. You may want to pm me, if you want to know more.

I am signing the wedding lunch with Oriental too. Deposit is 5k and 50% payable 1 mth before wedding then balance after wedding.
 
I've paid deposit of 5K for my dinner, and 1K for lunch (10 tables).. total 6K, both at the garden suite.. Max sitting capacity is 14 tables, advised by mark that 15 will be a bit cramp.

i didnt ask for any additional perks, i jus took watever i was given, car park, corkage etc...

my contract had the second deposit n third deposit thingy.. we'll be paying via cc, so will be clearing cc debts after BQ already..

Hihi, does anybody here have actual wedding day pics of the grandball room? As in pics wif guests? Will the pics turn out to be very dark?
 
Hi Cadence, I do have some pics of my wedding dinner last Sep ... and no, the pics will not turn out dark as it is actually pretty bright in the ballroom!

Hi gals, anyone know who to contact when Lil'Art deliver the wedding invites to the hotel. I not sure if should contact Lil'Art or Oriental.
 
my wedding has been called off. the hotel now wants me to pay the penalty. unless i can cough out 2 couples willing to get married by july-august this year, they will not negotiate. the hotel promised to be flexible on the terms and deposit for the 2 couples signing with them, so please help me spread the word. i have only until 18 Mar to give them an answer.

My planner says, we shd speak to either Lillian or Arthur at Lil'Art and liaise with them directly for the contents of the card insert.

The cards and inserts will then be delivered to the hotel and she will inform us to collect them from the concierge desk.
