Wedding Dinner: Meritus Mandarin (Belvedere) on 31st Dec 2006.
Overall Comment:
A wedding dinner that went very well, with ONLY good comments on the service and food from the guests.
1. Wedding Coordinator - Jesmi Tan
Due to personal reason (not due to pregnancy

), I only booked the function room one month + before my wedding. Jesmi had been very understanding throughout the negotiation process. Once the contract was signed, Jesmi immediately got to work (due to time constraints) and settled several of the details on the spot such as the theme, the color for the table cloths, the flowers, the wedding favours etc. Jesmi had been very responsive on emails and phone calls. One thing I am extremely impressed with her is that she ensured that work gets done immediately.
2. Banquet Coordinator – Wai Seng
Wai Seng had been very helpful, ensuring the banquet went smoothly. At the very last minute before the banquet starts, there was a need to add more seats, Wai Seng ensured all got done within minutes. Food was sent to the bridal suite as promised and Wai Seng liased very well with my coordinator. During the table to table toasting, Wai Seng made sure me and my husband and my parents in law had a glass of wine ready (I went to other hotels where we have to remind the waiters to provide the wine to the couple during the table to table toasting).
3. Services
I got SEVERAL compliments on the excellent service provided by the waiters and waitresses. One example provided by my colleague was that the waiter will make sure that the soft drinks ordered by the ladies had a straw whereas soft drinks ordered by men do not have a straw. My guests felt that they are VIP at the dinner.
4. Food
So far, I never got a bad comment on the food. In fact, all my guests are EXTREMELY impressed with the food. Their comment was food was fresh and tasty and they “force†themselves to eat even though they are full cos the food was just too nice. Most surprising was my halal colleagues commented that this was the best Halal food (including desserts) they have ever eaten in a wedding dinner
5. Bridal Suite
We got a Bridal Suite on the 23rd (I think is 23rd if my memory doesn’t fail me). Bridal Suite is extremely big – 1 room is the living room and the other room is the bed room. Only disappointment is that it feels like a VIP room, does not feel like a Bridal Room. The Bridal Room is not decorated to give the kind of Bridal Feeling. Surprisingly the TV in the Bridal Suite is a small CCTV whereas my guests stayed in Superior Room with a LCD.
6. Hiccups
a) Food at the Food Tasting was not very good. I remembered Fish was not fresh. I feedbacked to Jesmi who gives me the assurance that food on the actual day will be of highest quality which is true (see point 4).
b) Wedding Favours – After the wedding, some of my guests came up to me and said that they did not have the wedding favors on their table. We weren’t sure if someone had stolen theirs or no wedding favors were placed on their table (entire table). Anyway I feedbacked to Jesmi and she immediately without questions provide extra for me to give to my guests.
Overall:
I had a beautiful wedding dinner. I had no regrets choosing Meritus Mandarin (Belvedere). Service and Food was great. It was really money well spent. My relatives even commented that this was the best gathering they ever had. We all had fun. The atmosphere was just right for a wedding. We had such wonderful memory and all this was made possible with the assistance of the staffs in Meritus Mandarin. Meritus Mandarin sets up a room to show all potential couple their available designs which give the couple a better visual of the theme they wanted. They even had video prepared unlike other hotels that provides only pictures.
To all Meritus Mandarin Staffs who helped in my wedding: A BIG Thank You!
