Leapin' Lizards

Hi Scribbler,

I wore a 5" heels on my AD. I would suggest getting it custom made at Leapin Lizard. After my AD, I had it altered to 3.5", so it was not wasted.

Hi Scribbler

Juz happen to come across this thread. I didnt know that heels can be altered coz im toying with the idea of altering it to be shorter too. Did u went back back to Leapin Lizard for this?

frankly gals, is it necessary to spend so much money on a pair of shoes you will most probably wear once and really, there are so many beautiful ready-made shoes found in so many department stores at a fraction of the cost, unless your feet are of a 'special' size or you want your wedding shoes to be made of the same material as your wedding gown (but no one notices wedding shoes under all that gown material and train!) and what will you do with the matching shoes after the wedding! (I suggest putting your money to better use eg-paying and decorating your new love nest or for the honeymoon!)

Sorry, I am just not into LL shoes, went in to the store b4 to try to get my wedding shoes but was really put off by everyshoe they had on display. I hope they will improve the quality of their display shoes before anyone can even contemplate wanting to make shoes there.

For those happy customers who have made their wedding shoes there, I hope it was money well spent n that you have been able to wear those shoes again.

hi ee-ling...
for mine.. i made a pair of white cover shoes with flowers for my wedding....
is well worth... as after my wedding, I can ask the LL to recolor my shoes to black for evening shoes...

Actually I do agree their shoes are normal looking, but they are customed made to our sizes, so it's very comfy especially during the AD whereby you will be standing all the time.

My AD 5" inches shoes have been converted to a 3.5" inches heel that I can wear to work.

its real comfy, fitting and looks so nice and new and realli gives u the 'dis is my wedding shoes' kind of feeling.. :D

Hihi, yesterday had went down to LL to custom made my wedding shoes too. Phew... got another thing done.

Overall I think LL is quite good and professional. Maybe that they dun really have fantastic designs but at least I think they cater to what most brides are looking for.

They are able to custom to the colors, the height, designs that we need. The staff there are really helpful and friendly. Just like some of the earlier threads had mention, they dun push for sales at all. Any questions, just feel free to ask them, and they will gladly answer you.

Oh btw, the shopfront is not those every nicely renovated shops, looks kinda of old. But do pop by to take a look, I think its worth it.

The charges are roughly as below.

Custom Made using PVC material - S$55
Custom Made using Satin - S$99

The great price difference is because if you use satin, after ur wedding, u can still dye it into another color to wear for other occasion. So it won't be so wasted, just wear for one time only.

If you need to add flowers, pearls, crystals, there will be additional charges. The crystals they use are Swaroski crystal. Had examine the quality, its good. I do not noe how they charge for the additional items. But for myself, the designs that I chose consist quite a lot of crystals, which is an additional of ard $160.

Hi Gals,

I had a pair of MTM size 5 sivler heel with crystals to sell. 4" cos bought 2 pairs at one time....Now find a waste of $$ so decide to let go one pair at $120. Brand New.

Hi Niv,

Am going for 1st fitting this 18th Oct... And collect on the 27th... Show u the pic when i collect...

hi rene,
what abt cost for leather?

hi oink,
i also considering to 'cut' my wedding shoes heels short after wedding for more practical use in future. how much cost to cut heel?

Was looking for wedding shoes a while ago for my photoshoot.

Went to Leapin' Lizard too, must say that svc is not too bad, but prices a bit steep though. Each to his own.

Realised that a lot of neighbourhood shps tat wedun normally step into actually sell bridal kind of shoes, at reasonable prices too (ard 50 to 80). Just have to do abit of walking around, preferably in non-retail chain kinda shops.

Hope this helps.

Hi there, I made a pair of shoes from LL eons ago for my prom. Worn once & after that just kept in storeroom becos no occasion for it at all. Don't kept well though, velvety material disintegrate... oh well, all shoes does that I guess, MTM or OTR.
Anyway, not to spoil your moods, but actually Swarovski crystals are quite cheap, after all, they are just glass with 20% lead content to make it shinier than normal glass. If you are paying $100 just to add crystals on, it definitely is wayyyyy tooo muccchhhh!
I just bought white slip-ons from Metro for my ROM, so even if I don't wear ever, it don't make my heart ache. Course nobody except the most kaypohs really going to look at the shoes. Though I do understand that brides-to-be have the mentality that everything have to be just perfect, but really, relax, just enjoy the day. A glitch here & there, who will even notice or remember? I don't think you talk about your gal pals' shoes after their wedding right?

I am wondering if 5 inch high shoes will be realistic? My FH and I are more than 20cm apart.... If so, can anyone enlighten on cost to mtm?

beauty Seet,
afraid your leg must not be able to take it for such a high shoes.

Me wearing 4" inch heel during my AD already make me too tired....cant even stand too long.

U can try out first before deciding on that.

So got a lot of time for u..no worries. But you may want to decide on the height at least..so that when u alter ur gown, they know how much to alter.

hi lavlyn,

oh yes, they have lots of designs on the racks & on catalogs. But if u have designs in mind, u can also let the person know. I sort of design my own. It's very fun!
