Hi everyone! We've just decided last week to have our wedding tentatively on 29th July, didnt really consult any masters but in general its one of the auspicious dates for Chinese in July, and falls on a weekend!
You girls have done so much! Nothing is booked for me yet, but i'm just having a simple luncheon for a small group of friends/relatives so hopefully there's still time to book. I'm also going to Korea in Dec for our pre wedding shoot, I've not signed up any packages but concurrently corresponding with Ido wedding.
I've also contacted some venues that we have in mind but have not done any site visit, it might or might not be a hotel since its a small group thingy, hopefully its not too late to secure a place!

They have free flow of beer and wine..min 40 tables but 1 one table free for every 20 table..means u pay for 38 tables..for now they reduce their price to close to lunch price..

I am quite stuck between getting a rental package or tailor made the evening gown with wedding gown rental..
Depends on what you're looking for... For me I just think it's not that worth it to tailor make just for one night. But to some, it could be their dream dress for their big day!

Coz I won't be having a pre-wedding shoot..so don't mind spending abit on the evening gown. Oh any good rental packages to recommend? May change my mind if it is more worthwhile..guess this is the good thing about having so much time to plan

I'm with Odelia. Very nice and sincere people who never pushes you to buy anything
only thing is that they are less known and have a slightly smaller range of gowns. But works for me, since I'm not too particular about gown.Can do a mini shootCoz I won't be having a pre-wedding shoot..so don't mind spending abit on the evening gown. Yes..my plan is to do a mini shot on the same day of wedding as I scheduled my wedding to be quite relaxing in the morning so have time in the afternoon. I saw the evening gown of divine couture. Very beautiful. So may consider to save on photo shoot and spend on the gown. But I am looking at my opinions to get a package to stick to my plan..
Ohhhh. Then if that's your priority just go for it! Anyway you have several months to think about it!
Slowly look until you're satisfied!

Anyone got pre shot wedding package to recommend
I guess we are one year away from our wedding. When do you guys/gals reveal the date to your friends? I'm feeling quite excited, so far only told my immediate family and closed friends as we just have a rough idea of the date but it seems far too early to verbally confirm with other friends yet. Anyway, I'm only having a simple wedding of 100 and have not confirmed the venue. Think the date only 100% chop and confirmed when the venue is confirmed. Cant keep my excitement lolz..

I haven't been doing anything actually. Hahaha I'm not sure if there's anything I should do now, if it's too early.
Still trying to confirm the venue and pre wedding shoot studio, basically nothing confirmed yet except probably the date.So far only one of the venues we are looking at is fully booked.
Still got some time!

So happy that we finally confirmed our wedding venue today, went down to Swissotel Stamford for their wedding showcase today and signed up on the spot as they have nice perks. I've been to two other venues for site visit, finally this one is the most satisfactorily and both my fiance and I agreed that we should just take up their package. Phew, sooooo relieved that one thing off my mind and I have to scout for my pre-wedding studio next.

Oh congrats! Venue is certainly a headache. When is your wedding? Any inkling on the prewed you're leanjnf towards?

Hello all July 2017 brides!
I am deciding between May & July 2017, but most likely I will choose Jul 2017 due to the availability of the wedding venues.
But I heard that lunar 6th month is not good for marriage due to the taboo belief of the sixth month being a half-year, therefore implies a half-marriage. Is that true?

Hmm, I've never heard of that before but if you're superstitious and worried then best is to avoid it.
I thought July was a pretty hot month to get married next year especially the 1/7/17 and 7/7/17

I'm a 1 Jul bride too and have not been in the forum always. We have confirmed our venue at Orchard Hotel in Feb this year for our wedding lunch. Shopped for our bridal studio and decided to go with Whitelink. We have met up with our coordinators and they are nice people.
As ours is a wedding lunch and we were afraid of rushing with time, we had completed our ROM last Sat with only immediate families to witness the occasion. The few hours has made both of us rather exhausted after it ends. I am can imagine how the actual day will be.
Now, we need to decide when to take our pre wedding photos, settle the details for wedding lunch, stuffs for betrothal and the nitty gritty ones.

I took mine ala carte. My "package" was for pre wed shoot and actual day gowns.
Including the photography for AD was about 6k~ (top up) no videography though.

I heard from a wedding coordinator (and he seems to be the only one to know this) that next year is Lun Yue so there will be 2 7th months, starting from late July (22 Jul?) will be the unofficial 7th month before the official one starts in July. To play it safe we'll hold our wedding before that
Really depends on how fast your photographer can churn and edit the photos. I'm doing mine next week as my photographer said he needs one month before we can select photos then another month to edit / approval from us then print which takes another 1-2 months. I want my photos by February for save the date
