Hee.. We have also met up with Mr. Yeo few weeks back and he is our Solemnisor for our ROM as well.

Indeed, he is really professional and detailed in every explanation. He even highlights the importance of marriage and how to have a ever lasting marriage and keeping the vow.

I believed those couples who have been solemnised by him would be glad to have him as their Solemnisor!

Hi DNA, during my meeting with Mr Yeo, i heard he mentioned about changing his schedule for ROM booking due to health and time to spend with family. Hence sun might be out for him. Nevertheless no harm asking him.

hihi,

there is no such thing as a fee to engage solemnisers or JPs. they are doing all these on their freewill but usually, out of courtesy and gratitute, couples will give me an ang pao..to me, something like $68 or $88 will be appropriate..
 
Hi supergal, I have managed to talk to Mr. Yeo on the phone. However, he is unable to make it for my wedding day. Is there any other JP that you can recommend please?
 
i read in the forum that mr chia ti yu is also quite popular..he's a rather young guy..but i don't have his contacts..you can look at the forum under his name and i'm sure many couples will be willing to provide his contacts

i booked mr yeo about 6 months in advance..but i think to many others, it's abit too early..some say 3 months should be sufficient..unless your's is a hot date!

i also booked my yeo to be my solemisor. i met him last sunday and he is nice! really explained all the procedures in details, and what to take note of. last but not least he also explain how to maintain a healthy marriage.

I am in the midst of shortlisting the JPs in case some are not available for my solemmnisation in June 2009. Mr Yeo Woon Soo is one of my shortlisted JP. Could you all share with me your experience and procedure when selecting him as your JP?

supergal - Ah thanks! Ok, if he is fluent in Mandarin, can I assume that he can speak English well as well?

The reason for my concern is, I have attended a couple of friends' solemnisation where the JP cannot speak English properly! :\

mr yeo is conversant and fluent in both english and mandarin. actually, i would still feel that mr yeo's english is better than his mandarin..hehe!

cos when me and hubby met him up to sign the solemnisation consent form, he conversed with us in english and he gave me the impression that he is actually more comfortable speaking english..

however, mr yeo's mandarin is also quite good..at least during our solemnisation, we can all understand him..hehehe!

my soleminsation will be on the same day as my AD...date is 27 Sep 2009...is it too early to check w Mr Yeo on his availability? cos it is lunar 8th mth and i think there might be quite alot of solemisations in that mth!
 
mr yeo has replied to my email...and has agreed to help us solemnize our marriage on 27 Sep on our AD....

candiCs - you can try to email Mr Yeo first to check with him...he replies quite promptly.
 
hi annisan sorry for the late reply. Yeah mr yeo can be contacted via HP 91178697.

i contacted him 3mths before my solemnisation date. i would have booked him earlier but he wasnt my first choice. haha.. i got rejected by some professor..didnt like his tone and attitude when he spoke to me both times..good thing i didnt choose him.

so i found mr yeo instead. he is good in chinese and english but i only had mine in chinese as he say 2 language will be confusing so i stick to one.
