I signed during last yr wedding show for 2005 n got e projecter FOC, mmm.. i think i ve to check with my coordinator regaring e staircase deco later on
 
EA, HI gave the package for 2006 - I don't have it with me now but I compared it to the 2005 one and except for the price, everything they are providing is exactly the same. However, for the menu they have added more expensive selections - ie. the menu selections are exactly the same as the 2005 ones except that they added 1 additional item to each category that is more expensive than the most expensive dish in the 2005 menu selections. Since you have the old package I don't think you'll need the 2006 one.

I didn't go for the HI show..but was told that they are able to extend the perks to me as my AD is in Jan 2006.

For weekday packages, other than free flow beer, extra room nite and free photography...what else is included?

The free photography is free photoshoot in the hotel for 2 hr, a free album n cd is included...not sure how many photos..

Dun like the ballroom le.....i just went there 2 weeks ago the coordinator told me will only open for booking on oct....

I dun really like the ballroom too cos too many weddings can be held in one nite. The ballroom ceiling is not high too. Coordinator not willing to negotiate too.

I will be choosing between HI and Marriott.
 
That is wat i think too for Grand Hyatt.
Which coordinator do u talk to? Maybe i will look for her .....dun really like the one i talk to le. Has informed her that i will like to make appointment to meetup, but she say she is not working on sat and will request her colleague to call me. So far have not receive any call.
 
Really ar, so disappointing......how to confirm the wedding if we do not know wat we are going to have in our contract? Meaning we have to pay deposit before we can start the negotiation??
 
The seat covers in Hyatt is $3 per pc. I asked whether they could waive this n she said she will only discuss when we confirm to book Hyatt. Later I asked abt whether could we have a coordinator room included, she reply the same thing too.

Even though I like Hyatt becos of its brand name but decided to give up since they are not so flexible with the perks.

So irene, are u going to pay the deposit and negotiate later?? When do u wan to confirm ur banquet??

my coordinator was adeline.. she was pretty nice.. and quite flexible.. Negotiated prior to signing the contract.. think can still negotiate further closer to AD.

my new coordinator shld be michelle.

I only met Michelle, so far only manage to get free projector and corkage waiver for wine per table. But she told me she is able to extend the wedding show perks to me till 31 March.

I think u should negotiate before u sign cos the foc things should be included in the contract. The turnover for hotel staff are quite high, so to play safe, u must have all yr perks in yr contract.

For my case, during Dec, staircase decoration was already done up by Xmas decor as i saved $60 for decorating the staircase. However, there isnt waive of staircase decor that time.

My co-ordinator was Adeline n she is a nice lady. Huh? i thought Michelle is Adeline's assistant? Or probably she has promoted to sales manager?

So far, my guests commented the food is thumb up with abalone, scallops, great shark fins, rice wrapped w lotus leave n not forgetting the great dessert. It really leave a deep n good impression for my guests. N not forgetting that they commented the ballroom is beautiful n grand esp when we march in.

Sign up before u regret. I have never regrets signing up with HI. I fell in love at 1st sight w its exclusive ballroom n i signed up in Oct 03 for Dec 04 wedding.

Long time no hear from u!! How has marriage life been? Must be wonderful.

Yeah, I attended the HI wedding show and was impressed with the great shark fins with fresh crab meat. When the dish was first served, I almost mistook the chunky crab meat for chicken flesh!! Hee..cos they were really CHUNKY. Yum yum. The food was good.

So u planning to be a mummy soon?

No, I think I manage to negotiate for both items out from the extra perks. Michelle is willing to waive corkage of 30 bottles of wine for my 30 tables.

Anyway, I have confirmed with another hotel already.

I am Irene actually, i changed my user name.

I choose Marriott becos of the extra perks that i was given by the coordinator and also the service of her was excellent.

My Husband prefer Marriott becos of the hotel location is in Orchard and the service of Marriott as well.

Just for your information. My wedding was on weekend, sunday near to Xmas. My wedding dinner started at abt 8.30pm - 8.45pm.

Just a refresh below on the menu i have chosen.

1) Superior Cold Combination Platter
(Suckling Pig, Salad Prawns, Drunken Chicken, Jellyfish, Sea Whelk with Spicy Sauce)

2) Poached Prawns

3) Shark's Fin with Crabmeat and Conpoy

4) Braised Sliced Abalone with Chinese Mushrooms and Seasonal Vegetables

5) Sautéed Broccoli with Fresh Scallops and Sliced Squid in XO Sauce

6) Steamed Sea Bass Topped with Light Soya Sauce

7) Roasted Chicken

8) Fried Rice with Seafood Wrapped in Lotus Leaf

9) A Sweet Cream of Red Beans with Lotus Seeds and Dried Lily Bulbs

My AD is on 26 Nov 05. Had my first fitting last mth.. going for my 2nd fitting end of this mth.

Your menu is exactly wat i am considering...except that i changed the seabass to cod fish.

generally, how's the food? can u give me some feedback?

The weekday package for Marriott is at $738 & $768 nett.

The extra perks that I have was free projector, day use room for coordinator, complimentary upsize of beer from 20litres to 30litres, no additional charge for changing of better fish and no additional charge for including suckling pig slices in the combination platter.

Hope this help. Actually I also like HI a lot but compared the coordinator services, i find Marriott better.

i agreed with u... i fall in love with intercon just by looking at the exterior of the hotel and some pics posted by ex-bride..
set my heart on intercon even prior to viewing the ballroom.. having seen the ballroom.. i fall "deeply" in love with intercon..

i find intercon very grand and simply love the long aisle and reception area.. very exclusive.

What is the table requirement for Marriott on weekday?

Do you need to pay for the microphone usage etc. Me confuse as Richard inform me that if i select from the additional perks, there will be no charges but the list only has projector. Do u pay the rental fee for the microphone etc according to their pricelist given??

The table requirement for Marriott is minimum 30 tables for weekday.

But to compare from HI, I think HI offer better dishes selection than Marriott and HI's ballrm is more grand but Marriott's theme is more romantic.

30 tables alot le....my guest list currently only have 25 tables......just right for HI. Same situation as Grand Cop....hahahaha!!!
