Hello Chinleng,

Thanks for the info.. I've met up with 1 of the co-ordinator, but she doesn't offer additional perks. So would like to check out what additional perks other fellow brides have.. haha..

Anyone attended or held their wedding at Malacca room or Bugis Vault before? The ceiling for both looks really low and the carpet and wallpaper for Bugis Vault look so old fashioned..................

anyone has tried contacting their wedding coordinator before? i feel that they are not sincere. We emailed the coordinator that we met at the wedding show and she took forever to reply. We really love the ballroom and foyer but the attitude of their staffs really disappoint us. Am now contemplating if we should source for other hotels...

You can try looking for Ivan. He is quite responsive and knows what he is doing

I agree to both Jaslin and loveistheword cos I personally encountered twice. I called to inquire about the package - I was transferred to the sales dept. after called through the main line, the co-ordinator was friendly to inform that they will send to me after asking a lot of questions. Them I waited for almost 3 days, the packages was not sent. I called again to find out that the sales rep. who is supposed to send the packages to me was away and will ask the second sales rep. to send to me soon (by end of the day). I waited but no response till now. I went down personally last week and they told me the sales persons are currently busy and no one can meet me since I came without appointment.

Very disappointing with such a good brand name and good atmosphere but but such service standards, they ought to have more training on services. Heard from a friend working in this hotel that the sales staff turnover rate is very high.

I encountered the same issues also as mentioned by some members above. Was going to confirm but then felt that the price is quite high after comparison, especially with the food standards. I decided to go with The Joyden Hall instead, which is just opposite at Bugis+. Just confirmed a package there for next year. Very very different from hotel ballroom so can't really compare. Think not many people know about it since they don't even advertise much. It's a boutique venue, great location (same as Intercon if you ask me), price is also very reasonable. Even for weekends, much much lower than Intercontinental. It's not luxurious like Intercontinental, but their decoration is really special, and has real flexibility to customize themes. HUGE cinema-grade projector system + concert quality sound system. Food is good also. Do check it out if you're looking for something different.

Haha! Never too late to see it Yes! I confirmed mine with Intercontinental Hotel 2 months back. I will be doing a luncheon.

My deciding factors are basically:
I LOVE THE BALLROOM. and the solemnization area is FOC with basic decor..

I find that intercon gives me a very comprehensive perks inclusive in the whole package. I personally feel that the price is abit over my initial budget of $1200/table but I save quite a bit when alot of things are already inclusive.

The venue itself is already pretty on its own so I dont need to pump in too much additional money on decor.

We hear good reviews of the place. We also attended a wedding at the hotel in 2014 and have a very good impression back then.

The reason why we opted for lunch was because intercon based their pricing on a fengshui calendar. And the date which we opted happen to be one of the auspicious dates in the chinese calendar. So we are offered the most expensive banquet pricing for dinner package. However, they only have one price for their lunch banquet. So the choice is quite obvious for us.

I dont know where the food is from! I think its not bad from what I ate during the wedding I attended this year.

And yes, Bridal suite will be those at the shophouses! It's not very big , compared to many other hotel suites. But I think its not so bad.

Hi DingOOPS,
The food is from the Chinese restaurant as I have checked with the coordinator, Miss Kit! Yah, I went to the wedding show, quite last minute on Sunday, the bridal suite is kinda special, as it's those shophouses converted, it's only 2 years old. It's clean and new. :)

Hi Superjess,
Are you having a luncheon or dinner banquet? Yes, I do agree the price is on the high side but I think the beautiful ballroom and the good food from the Chinese restaurant will make the price you pay worth it. Their coordinators are nice too.

Hello!!! I hope the negotiation works out! I think it may be abit tough to negotiate on the prices per table. I tried so hard with my htb but it seems tough with this hotel. But you can try to negotiate for a good overall discount... Maybe 10% overall or 5% overall.... I tried doing that for mine.. but ended up they only offered a $1500 overall discount. (the offer which they were promoting during their wedding showcase).

P.S. that discount was based on 30 tables. I hope this helps!

I am not sure if there is any bridal show now. I hope they can give me an overall better price. I also need to book like 7 more rooms i am not sure if they are able to give me a better rate for the rooms. I don't know which company has corporate rate with the hotel.

how is the march in like? it is a straight line or?

Hello! What i understand is they will offer us the special rates for only 5 deluxe rooms. However, she was telling me its about $200 plus. When I searched on agoda, I realised that agoda is actually cheaper for some of the days. When I clarified with the co-ordinator, she was telling me that agoda's rate doesnt' allow any room cancellation or there may be some terms and conditions involved. So maybe that's why it's cheaper.

I'm also not sure if there are any banks or companies that offers corporate rate with this hotel! Please tell me if you know of it! If not can get your guests to book at a nearby hotel which is cheaper. 7 rooms is really alot!

For march in , its a very long straight march in! pillarless too. :) love the venue :D

I saw the ballroom! i love it! it's new and nice and love the foyer. I have spoken to my wedding planner Jarls and she will be checking for me with regards to whether i can get any wedding show perks.

i wanted to book the ballroom for an after party and Jarls suggested to book the bugis vault instead, as it is underground and probably is cheaper. I saw the vault and i love it. it's like a mini club concept.

Hope Jarls come back to me with some good news. Who is your wedding planner Dingoops?
