Hi
Understand that currently there are 2 types of injections 1 is Gardasil and the other Ceravix...
Anyone have any idea or had the jab b4?

Hi,

I've got my 3 doses of Gardesil done within 6 months time. GP advised it's not 100% protection. Chances of getting cervical cancer is 30%. You will prolly feel some soreness on your arm but no drama. Cheerz

The reason why the vaccine gives 70% protection from cervical cancer is because HPV Types 16 and 18 are behind 70% of cervical cancer cases. The vaccine works by building immunity against these two HPV types, as well as 90% of genital warts casses.

Three jabs should cost around $600.

The Cancer Center at the Paragon was having a Ceravix promotion earlier this year, where 3 doses were going at nearly half price. Paid about $360+, instead of the usual $600+.

It's just a regular jab; feels like an ant bite and you may experience flu-like symptoms a few days after. I personally didn't though. I'm still waiting for my third dosage in Oct, but the previous jab did leave a rather purple swelling on my arm...

I was told by the doctor that the vaccine is only offered to ladies age 25 and below here in Singapore. Different countries have different age restrictions, so if you're still under 25, should definitely go for it!

wat's the difference between Gardasil and Ceravix other then different brand names ?
i heard there are side effects like weakening of the legs

hi all, a distant fren of mine is diagnosed with cervical cancer.

she is very pretty and young, only 21...doing fulltime modeling..she had quite alot of sex partners. Doc told her, cervical cancer is also due to transmittion of diff tissues of diff sex partners to yourself...not sure if i should use the word tissues.but ultimate reason is she had frequent sex with diff partners...hence, there is this cancer thingy.

upon hearing this, her gf (which is my fren..and this is how i know of this model's story) went to the doc to enquire on the vacinnation to prevent the risk...and her family doc asked if she has had marriage problems..my gf said no of coz...and doc told her, if she has only 1 sex partner currently and has been constant in this behaviour,(not incl those during younger days), it's fine NOT to inject...she also got a quote of 600+

I will encourage you guys to go for the jab n it's not only offered to ladies below 25. I'm already 30 and i will be having my 3rd dose of cervarix in Aug.

I have recovered from pre-cancer which was about 4 yrs back, but still do my regular check-up every 6 mths.

My doctor feels tat the body system of a lady in 20s, 30s, 40s are the same. And he believes that the jab will still be effective to ladies above 25.

human papillomavirus jabs are a group of 100 viruses and the major cause of cervical cancer. The FDA approved gardasil as a preventative measure. Studies involving another NPV vaccine cervarix is on its way.

Hpvs are associated with certain types of cancer. These are called high risk carcinogenic hpvs. The immune system of most women will usually surpress or eliminate NPV. Only persistanct infection will lead to cervical cancer. Hpv infection is also a risk factor for propharyngeal cancer of the throat, including soft palate the base of the tongue and tonsils. Hpvs can cause cancer of the anus, vagina and penis.

Frightening thought

Hrt was known to have caused over 1000 ovarian cancer deaths, though this was hotly denied. Despite this leak and risks of cancer, strokes and clots, many women are still prepared to take risks.

I had the jab when I was like 33, and married. this cancer dont strike people who are sexually active only. it does happens to people who dont even had sex before.

I'm 28.. and i just finished my 3rd dose of ceravix last mth. cost me about $450 for 3 injections. Prevention is better than cure. I asked the doctor how long the vacination can last.. he mentioned usually abt 7 yrs. does that mean i need to take another jab after 7 yrs?

Actually right vitamins and diet will help for our health. Other than vaccine, I would suggest u to take some supplement. It is an overall health supplement. I read a book "What your doctor doesn't know about nutritional medicine may be KILLING you" This book is written by a doctor. After reading this book, I started to source for trusted brand vitamins. Every day I take multi vit, vit B, C protein bla bla bla...and yes I feel myself much healthy than before but stop it after 3 months cos I cannot stand the smell, tired of swallowing all those tablet. Recently, I started taking another liquid type supplement (make of 23 herbs) which I used to buy for my dad. Due to budget, I did not drink it until recently... and to my surprise, the taste is great. Ha...no wonder my dad ok with it. Maybe u would like to know more about the product. I'm a buyer and the company provide me a free website when I sign up as member to introduce more ppl about the goodness of this product. http://myintrasite.com/ler

Yes, I'm familiar with both Gardasil and Cervarix. These vaccines are designed to protect against certain strains of HPV, reducing the risk of cervical cancer. If you have any concerns or questions about these injections, I recommend consulting with experts at a trusted Health and Fertility Centre for Women. They can provide personalized advice based on your health history and guide you through any decisions. Your well-being is their priority.
