Hi Ladies! How are all of you! Just came back from my holiday a few days ago...

Sanity >> I shortlisted Spa Alangkara as they had many choices for temple jewellery. But before my trial Mala called me and changed the date. At that time, I had just about enough of vendors who kept changing appointments and shuffling me around. So I decided not to go with them. The impression I got was they were a bit disorganized. But the makeup pics I saw werent too bad. They were not outstanding but certainly not bad. They charged me SGD550 + 35 for early morning charge if memory serves me right.
 


Hi Jess! welcome back...hope u had a gd time....i gotta make ma decision today. The only thing that i have to consider is like what u said..they have lotsa choices for temple jewellery. sighs..so back to preps again huh

wow, such scary stories abt Spa Alangkara. i heard good stuff about them tho i find the makeup to be pretty okay only. nothing fantastic.
but i still have time before my big day(more than a year!) so im not fussing yet

Sanity and Rina Usually beauty salons they wont do a bad job. But they wouldnt be outstanding. I am taking Menaka for my temple wedding. As long as she does my hair well, I think I can guide her with my makeup. uring the trial, I wasnt blown away. But it wasnt too bad either. Just make sure u tell or show pics to your MUA to have her understand the look u want. =)

Sanity >> BAck to preps again! =) Need to settle VG, florist for hand bouquets, bridesmaid dresses and invitations!

I love the lenghas at Seasons too. I think they have a wide selection and a trip to their Santacruz store will definitely be worthwhile.

Breach Candy has a cluster of high-end stores. The Benzer's might have something. But I preferred the ware at Roop Kala.

Juhu should have another cluster of designer labels including Ritu Kumar. But I've never had the budget or a reason to shop there

For colorful non-essential, accessories e.g. bangles, I go to Gandhi Market. You have to bargain like crazy and check the quality before the purchase.

I am facing this huge dilemma when it comes to my makeup artist. I need someone who can do natural looking makeup for my temple wedding but with focus on the eyes and lips. Was wondering if you guys have any recommendations?

Also, I noticed plenty of people on this forum recommending Shanti from Stylemart. Do any of you have any pictures of her makeup? If you do, please do me a HUGE favour and email me those pictures at [email protected]?

Hi all,a quick intro of myself - m shamini, My AD's on 12 Nov 2011. Bn reading all the posts and collating infos etc... M in panic mode cos i havent started anything at all.I nd contacts or info for the following :

1) Printing Invitations (JB) - any address or contacts?

2) Pre-wedding Photoshoot (JB) - We are thinking of Dreams bridal, Venus Bridal & SG Bridal

3) Makeup artist - nd some1 who can tie sari, hair n makeup all at one. Sungdolly n Sarah dun all but mite consider them for my dinner rece.

Was recommended Bubbly fr Looks and some freelance artist whom works are not soo bad like Malini, Vijaya, Amutha etc... (m confused) hd abt shanti too...any info of any of the artists?

PG: m either plannin to get Kris Raj (freelance) or Issac Kia

I printed ma weddin card at amutha printing enterprise @ no 6, jalan hang tuah 4, taman skudai baru,81300 skudai, JB. They did a pretty neat job. Hope this helps.

Hope the rest of u r doin great n ya preps r coming along fine....I have 2 wks b4 the BIG day....so many things to fine tune....feelin d jitters alrdy...

I manage to order my invites at Parvathee Printing, jln dobi, JB. went a few places arn jb but the prices varies though the card designs were the same. The one in parvathee was within our budget n cheaper compared to the rest.

As for my Photoshoot, I booked Dreams Photography..like their concept etc...Packages were looked gd. Will be doin my shoot in july.

Now sourcing for makuep artists, PG & VG. Anyone knows abt William Saravanan? Heard both good n bad reviews etc...

With rgds to Cards, They have 2 versions as in the local ones and the India cards. Depending on your preferences.

1)The local ones are the types that are printed with graphics like the ganesha pics, krishna n radha pics, they are nice too but a lil tooo colourful and can be a lil gawdy.

Price range starts fr 0.80 - 1.80 ringgit plus..

2) India cards - they r a lil modern n unique designs which i prefer.

Price Range starts fr $1.50 to $2.00 ringgit

So the in sing dollars it can be arn 50cents plus on wards.

I saw some comments regarding KM...i went to see the lady for my bro's engagement, their work is good esp if you are looking for the traditional mandap design and i agree it tends to the same kinda design and deco for every function. BUt im sure u can customize it to suit ur preference, they arent exp either..

Jitisha >> On the topic of MUAs, I'm using Menaka and Saheli. Others in the market are Spa alangkara and Susie. But you'd better do your own research and trials before you decide on any. Most importantly you should like the trial makeup and can get along with your MUA. Personally, I prefer my MUA to listen to my preferences. But for other brides, they prefer their MUA to take charge and do what they think is best. So choose wisely!!! =)

Jun, how's your weightloss regime coming along?
I managed to lose a little weight. But the scale doesn't really reflect it. =O mostly around the arms and tummy. Long way to go! I'm salad-ing and sushi-ing my lunches away! =)
 
Jessica: I am not sure.. but alot of people said i have lots alot of weight.. I also read that jogging in the morning will lose more weight.. so i tried to jog at least once a week in the morning.. tonight going to jog.. tomorrow hopefully can wake up to do trekking of the railway from woodland to tanjong pagar..

wow ARMS! i wish my arms is smaller man! that is the most difficult.. yeah does not really show.. i think in the scale, i lost like 5kg..

sushi is not healthy darling.. it contain rice.. sashimi is healthy.. however, it is not about diet.. it is about how u change your eating habit the rest of your life..

I have change to make my vege as my main portion and rice as my side..

Guess what, i am soo itchy backside.. i ask my mom friend to check out fishcut lengha.. so she got me a silk fishcut lengha and jewellery all..

I always don't eat north indian vege as the vitamins is gone and the fiber is gone so it will not make you full..

so right now m just concentrating on my bro's engagement & marriage...im more or less the one handling all the preps..so fret now btbs i feel ure pain ;)
