HTB is a foreigner, ROM okay?

Hi all,

This is my first post. I'm looking for advice from brides whose husbands/husbands to be are foreigners. My boyfriend is an Indonesian and we're looking to get married in 2012. A family friend who also married an Indonesian 15 years ago said that at that time she didn't register her marriage with ROM because she was afraid they wouldn't allow her husband to enter into Singapore. Not sure why she would think that. I checked the ROM website and they said as long as 1 party is a PR/SG, then the marriage is eligible. I"ll be relocating to Indo after our wedding, so its not like my HTB will be applying to be a PR here. BUt after hearing what my friend said, I'm a little worried. Any advice? Thanks!!

Hi, my HTB is from hong kong. And we are getting married in Oct. I called ROM to check, so long as either one party is SG citizen, I'm not sure about PR though. Why don't you call them for more information, it's better to hear it from them.

Hi Ladies,

I just got ROMed on Sunday. It is ok to marry a foreigner and be registered in Singapore. He just has to bring in passport along instead of IC for the ROM docs verification.

The only thing is that even though you ROM in Spore. It does not guarantee the foreign spouse a PR status. That is a case by case application.

Hi. My fiance is lebanese & he has never been to sg before. Can i ask if it'lll b ok to ROM when he comes in dec 2011..?

WIll you be registering in Lebanon for your marriage? I heard from some people and read on the ROM website that there is no need to register for marriage in SG if you will be doing that in your spouse's country.
ROM states that as long as 1 spouse is a SG citizen, its okay to ROM with your foreign spouse.

Hi im work permit holder currently. I having wedlock baby thru singaporean guy.I quit working before my delivery and i gave birth baby in malaysia. Now the baby 16 month old.We would like to marry in singapore by law. What are the risk? Does i get ban? if yes how long does it. Does there any other way to settle it? Please kindly advise me.
