How many hr needed for AD videography?

Hi all. Wondering if 6hrs is enough for morning gate crash till wedding lunch. Gate crash starts at 8 leave Hm before 9. Reach restaurant. Tea ceremony n rom at 11-12. Lunch starts at 12.30. Ends at 3.
Do we need videography all the way til end of lunch reception? Pls advise ladies. Thanks!

my VG package was 10 hrs. I had him from about 6am till 1.30pm then 630pm till my banquet end. total about 11 hours. paid extra 1 hour charge.
plan ur time well... from what i see, it's gonna exceed 2 hours for a 6 hrs package?

initially i also asked if i need him till end of banquet. but somehow, it felt funny to have him leave before it ends. so i just let him stay all the way.

Hi lemonzil...Thnx for the info.. What u say makes sense... Just wondering y photography quotes min 8h but videography is min 6hr. Who did u engage for videography? How's their quality n service?

ur're most welcome. I have no idea how the industry works. but looking at what i had, 11 hours of VG, i got a 2 hrs dvd. that's a lot of editing work to do already.
besides, not all 'live' moments need to be capture anyway? still moments can speak a lot for itself. .. this is my own reasoning luh.

i got my VG from Yvonne Creative. Service wise, the people from YC are ok. there's this lady denise, who's really very helpful. but the VG i got is one weird fella. however, i must admit, his output i.e. the video turns out ok. not bad. he still get credits for the video. but attitude wise, not very recommendable.

Hi idolyn,

That would depends if you need your wedding receptions to be covered. Some couples do not need that to be on video as it will be shots of mainly your guests eating, thus for some videographer, they have a 6hr package just for the morning session. Take for example if your gatecrash starts at 8, that would means that your makeup artist will be at your house around 6 or so. The recording will start then to document your make up process and the preparations by your sisters. from 6 till around 12 where your wedding recept starts, that will be already 6hr. Hope that helps. =)

Hi I am planning to hold a wedding lunch n i intend to show the morning highlights during the lunch. Can it be done? So the videographer will be there from 6am to 10am (until tea ceremony), and after which he will leave to edit the video. Anyone knows how much will this cost (the range)?

I am not too sure with what other charges but I manage to inquire one that cost $650 for 5 hours of filming in HD and say can commit for SDE wedding highlights for dinner reception.
