Anyone can advise me how long does it take usually for a contested PPO? My husband had a lawyer to represent him while I am not working.

When can the whole ordeal be over because I am so mentally tired.

contested? why contested?

go for legal aid? I don't know how long. this website has infor for US PPO (
http://www.tessacs.org/get-help/getting-a-protection-order)

'If contested, a hearing will be scheduled. The hearing may or may not be scheduled for that same day. If the hearing is set for a later date, the TPO will be continued until the PPO Hearing. The PPO Hearing is an opportunity for both the plaintiff and the defendant to testify regarding the incidents listed in the complaint.'

Maybe can use as reference?

Hweebs,

Why you gave a US PPO. It is not relevant and confuse her futher even if you have good intentions

I just google:
http://fcd.ecitizen.gov.sg/FamilyNCommunitySupport/StopFamilyViolence/HelpfortheVictim/WhereToFindHelp/

Call them and find out when the hearing dates. I understand normally within 1 to 2 weeks.
And if you are really worried, can apply for expedited order. If it is bad, I wonder why you are asking help on a forum.

EO is a temporary PPO granted in the absence of the perpetrator. It will only be granted if there is imminent danger of family violence being committed against you.

Actually I am already on EO. My case already almost 2 mths already. The mention went into trial already. I was told that there might be a few rounds of trials before the hearing. And all these is draining me emotionally. Thats why I am asking for info here is anyone knows how long this whole thing will end.

there are volunteers helping out with the mandatory counselling program at the family courts...maybe they will know?

Hweeds, I went legal clinic for help cos tts e only aid tts free. Even legal aid still have cost n I cannot afford. Legal clinic only allows 20 mins, half e time spend explaining my case, so barely got much info frm there except wat to prepare for trial.

ok...i try to ask if my friend has time and wants to help. She volunteers at the family court. I'll pm you the results
