Hi all, I'm considering to book Hotel Jen for my wedding next year but i realise the pillar at the Gallery room is really quite big. Anyone who had wedding at the gallery room before? Is the pillar blocking alot? What's your review on your march in?
Just met up with Remus and according to him each table located beside the pillars will probably be blocked 50% if max out 30 tables. However, there will be live streaming of the event on 3 screens and hopefully minimize the inconveniences.

Hi Katyew,

May I ask how many tables did u booked for your luncheon? Didn't know they have the option to book two rooms at one go and does it affect your march in? I am looking at dinner anot not sure if this option is available for 30 tables..

Mine is a small wedding for 12 tables. My AD only in Sep16. Feedback from other brides for malacca penang room, March in is ok. For 30 tables, it can only fit gallery ballroom.

My Event Sales Manager just called me to tell me the hall which I have requested to book, to which he has given his word and said to prepare contract for us to sign has been taken by someone else instead. To which I am very appalled and disappointed by the service rendered. Again and again he just keep saying it was his colleague that confirm the other couple and claimed that he was not aware. Clearly both Events Sales Manager do not communicate well and their miscommunication and mistake was pushed to us the bride and groom to be couples to solve instead. Right from day one for the venue visit we told him we wanted to book that room and are expecting 30 tables with no alternative dates available(due to lunar calender counted by folks) and he claimed that he misunderstood my email when I inquire about the Penang Hall instead. Of which, i really think it is a no brainer that my 30 tables crowd would not be able to fit in Penang room so why would I even be interested in that smaller Hall instead. And all the while, on the day of venue visit i told him I wanted the Gallery room and the next day I event dropped him an email to say again and he told us he will prepare the contract and today, this is the kind of respond I receive. And worst, whole time he only kept asking me to consider saturday lunch or other dates instead. I am really very disappointed and stressed by the sudden problem posted to us which we thought we finally have secured and settle the wedding venue for our big day. :'(

Was Remus.. To be honest he really presented very well on the day we went to view venue and we were really sold. We told him we are very keen on the package and would like to book the venue but our credit cards are not ready(as we are in the midst of signing new card) and hence, he told us he can draft contract and let us sign first.. And meanwhile, he asked us to chk with our folks to confirm our choices as he has had couples who booked and eventually due to folks violently objection resulting in many following problems. Hence, we went home and checked and confirm with our folks and I went ahead to inform him that we are interested in the hall and requested to put us on softbooking (as he mentioned we can sign the draft contract once it is ready and let his superior endorse after the wedding show) and that's it. I thought all was well and gallery hall was secured and finally I was relieved and cancelled the other softbookings from other venues. Then today I receive his email about the whole issue.. He said his colleague had someone who came down the day I emailed him to again stressed that I wanted the hall and placed a confirmed booking and paid deposit on the spot. All the while, I was not notified. And he said he is not aware of the dealing of the couple with his colleague. But in my opinion, this is a problem between two events sales manager but became a problem I had to solve at my end. On the otherhand, to be honest, he did sound very sincerely apologetic, but it really didn't solve our problems any bit. Now Remus said he will be checking with the other couple with regard to the booking and said will get back to us. :( my AD is going to be 25th Nov 2017.. My mom is very superstitious and it's not easy for us to confirm a date for our wedding. And my mom's side relatives are indonesian and it is again, not easy for us to keep changing the informations of our wedding to inform them. :(

Hello all.. Just wanna share how Hotel Jen tried to make things right for our wedding.. We tried very hard to convince our folks with a new date with abit of hiccups (glad it's finalised for good) since really bo bian and the Fiancé really like the competitive package that Remus had drafted for us.. Also, the management and Remus himself had called in to offer apologies and had make adjustments to make our wedding celebration a better one for us and we really appreciate it.

We really want to express thanks to the Hotel for taking time and effort to help us through and hopefully, in time to come, give us a wonderful fuss free wedding celebration altogether. :)

I've RSVP early this week and i emailed today but nobody replied or give me a confirmation on the wedding fair. If you have sent confirmation to people that rsvp yesterday but not me when it is earlier isnt this unfair. At least send an email to say that due to overwhelming response we will not be able to cater to you. Because of this i did not rsvp to other wedding fair that is happening on the same date. Tomorrow is already the event, i called the office today too and no one answers.
