Anyone out there who can advise me on this? I wanted an anulment with my husband.. but the problem is we have a flat. I appeal to HDB to sell the flat without hitting the minimum occupation period and of course they rejected my appeal.. Anyone has any experience with this or knows of this type of cases? DOes finding the MP helps? I seriously can't take it having to drag a day more but my parents wanted me to ask the MP for help first... What should I do now? Proceed on with the annulment and surrender the flat back to HDB and incur the loss or appeal to MP?

Why do u think the MP will help bend the rules for your case? Something so special about your anulment?

Or is this the mentality Singaporeans have. That in everything, all u only need to escalate to the right people and we will get things our ways. There is a long queue waiting to see the MP every week over their personal issues such as yours actually. No harm trying but unless yours is an exceptional case, don't have too much hopes on appealing to MP. And be prepared for the long long queue.

What decisions one makes, it comes with the consequences. Bearing these consequences should be something expected.

hmmm.. if that's the case then maybe i shall just proceed to surrendering the flat then.. coz i thought there might be a chance.. anyway, thanks alot Kessie

i have come across an annulment case where the court ruled for the guy to transfer his share to the ex-wife's brother. so the new family nucleus is the ex-wife and her brother & they got to keep the flat.

Hi Lyndy, thanks for the information.. any idea how was this done? Did they apply it through HDB or did they apply it through lawyer and apply through court? Thanks alot... =)
