i booked for buffet lunch, also cant try e foods..

santa helena varietal merlot was the wine i had. most guests had compliements for it. yes, it cost $60++ per bottle, but buying in bulk during banquet cost $30++ per bottle.

one table commented that the waitress serving them was quite rough, thats the worst comment i had, but most guests were statisfied overall.

one guest commented that she was surprised that hotel food can be so good. my relatives also prasied my dad that the food was good, and thought my dad had selected the dishes.. but it was us (we selected from the menu and from our coordinator's advices only).

we printed from t dragon, we did gold stamping.. yes t dragon is a bit expensiv, abt $50 more i gues...so ... we decided to go with them since differential is not much, and it just too hassle to go to AMK etc... maybe cos we did not print many cards, abt 140 only..

Went T-dragon yesterday, and placed printing order with them.. I was given 370 cards and order 400 inserts for printing.. end up the price difference is only $10.. so we took T-dragon for convenience sake. =)

But if your quantity is 200 or less, then maybe you might wanna weigh the cost urself..

Dreamz, mine is guaranteed 45 tables. But might increase to 50 tables.. so it's 70% based on 50 tables.. If your tables increase next time, u can ask for more cards for free.. however, if u wanna reprint ur inserts, you have to pay addition $30 for the setting up of the printing machine template or something like that.. plus the cost of printing..

Has anyone selected the table setting from GCW? i went today and was disappointed!!! the organza with floral prints were just AWFUL!!!! I reluctantly had to choose the bronze (more like brown to me) organza over ivory table cloth. Now i'm just wondering what kind of flowers will match the awful table cloth!!!!!!!!!!! I don't remember seeing such awful table cloths last year!!!!!!!!!! HELP!!!!!!!

I also didn't recall seeing such awful setup when some of the helpful forum members here posted up pictures. I suspect they (meaning the hotel) only showed the VIP setting during the show, which was nice. I had no problem choosing the Vip setting. But I really hated hated hated the organza with the prints.... ugly, ugly, ugly... and the colours are so limited! - Green (God!! i like green, but the green organza reminds me of algae green), purple, bronze, gray. I will go and see my florist first and see what they say... Hopefully their theme and decor are nice enough to distract the guests from the awful, awful organza table cloths.

I love the ballrooms and service...but why, why, why such awful table cloths??? Anyone having their wedding at the end of the year and have chosen the setting?? Or someone have just had the wedding and have pictures to share?? Maybe it looks okay and i'm just being a bit crazy here. Perhaps the overall effect is alright under the orange lights...I just want to make sure my choice is okay... i chose the bronze organza over ivory table cloth...

Has anyone tried WITHOUT the organza and just a plain cream table cloth??

I'm so fed-up because the colour scheme (white, or white and silver) i had in mind is ruined!!! I wanted to have a simple and elegant decor but i don't now how to make anything look elegant now with the ugly printed organza!!!!! SO ANGRY!!!!!

Hi happygal, thanks for posting up a picture - so helpful of you.

Maybe i was being crazy - your pic actually looked ok. Maybe when the organza is put over the table cloth and under orange lights, they actually look quite ok. Guess i was just disappointed that the colours are quite limited and was looking for a different feel.

I just wished they have plain coloured table cloths, or even if they want prints, perhaps brocade on a heavier cloth - think it will look better and more formal. and it would made it easier to blend with whatever colour or theme we have in mind.

Hee.. no problem.

Hope that all BTBs will have a better feel and know the kinds of table cloths to choose for their big day. Actually I find that the table cloths provided by GCW has more variety than some hotels.

If you notice the discussion room during the wedding show, they use the purple organza with black chair covers also very nice and classy. I like that but never take any pics on that.

does anyone have actual pictures of the riverfront or waterfront ballroom? and is the maximum number of 20 tables for riverfront very squeezy?

or has anyone held their solemnization at the promenade?

by the way, is anyone holding their solemnization before or during the banquet?

i am holding mine during banquet, in ballroom itself, in front of all guests (ideally la, muz pray they all dun be late)

dreamz81: agreement is if i were to bring in my own wine, den will be at no corkage charge, but i dun take any free hotel wine at all. if not, its exchange e additional hotel room for 10 bottles free corkage.

janice> oic. i think then it will largely depend on if the majority of your guests drink wine. if the free wine enuff for your guests then better to take the free wine. unless your guests drink alot and you can get cheap wines from outside. oh you can like after the free wine finish, dun server anymore or only start serving from which dish to which dish. but guest might grumble. cannot try to ask for both ah?

Hi gals, may I ask how many glasses can each bottle of wine last? I'm not sure if my guests will drink red wine/beer/non-alcoholic drinks leh... so very difficult to estimate if the free wine will be sufficient. Dunno how my guests will react if I have no more wine to serve them when it runs out...any idea on the average wine consumption? haha...
