I sign up with GCW at their bridal show today.. after today's meeting with my co-ordinator, i would say she is good and is more friendly since my 1st meeting with her.

Have you booked with them? My AD is next year March. I actually attended my frd's wedding last year thats how i came to know about GCW, apart from their fanastic ballroom, i would say the food is pretty good too.

MS: was pretty disappointed with his presentation during our 1st meeting,no card sample, no gift sample and no idea of some of the food in the lunch menu tt we are discussing. When talk to him,its more to frd-frd type of communication fr his way of speech,lack of the professionism i expected fr a 5stars hotel coordinator.But again his friendliness thru the phone is the reason why i choose GCW too.Was totally disappointed with the blockage of the date we requested,was told its blocked for us(CONFIMED TWICE)but its not. Iwill be meeting their florist to discuss abt the type of stage deco she can provide me before we sign the contract this wkend coz none of the stage deco he showed me interests me.instead merchant court deco is much better but My htb wants only either GCW or Swissotel stamford coz theres where we spend our special occasions.However both side left only lunch banquet for the days tts shortlisted for us.
After tt incident, jeremy is much more efficient and effective and more professional,most likely we will still sign with them if no more hipcups occur.
Swissotel Stamford Director of the event team, Dennis,who handle our event is really professional, however their menu is not tt attractive compare to GCW(Dishes items only, no food tasting to compare haha).
The thing tt attract me for GCW will be the free 1wine per table tt will help us save alot coz my in-law side are all wine drinkers but again yet to check with them the wine they offering. Orchard hotel offers yr 2001 australia wine, think GCW only offer yr 2005or2006 australia wine.

jenny tan: r u the one whose email is nfiona25? who is ur coordinator? Is urs dinner banquet coz only dinner banquet in GCW has $688 and $888 rebate if use uob card.
I have not sign the contract with them,but jeremy blocked off for me aldy(RECONFIRM 3TIMES THIS TIME ROUND) most likely this wkend or next wk if nothing goes wrong. Mine initial date is 28dec but if to have it at GCW,it will be 20th dec coz 28th dec lunch taken too.

Orchard hotel the ballroom lights are fantastic,still has 28dec but well its a 4stars hotel but charge like 5stars but of coz comes with 5stars service atleast for the coordinator who i meet up. they have a room with all the diff gift set, card set,table cloth colour, wine option etc to show us.its a great idea for us and the coordinator isnt it

hi just went to the copthorne group weddign fair yesterday... deciding between GCW and orchard hotel... most likely leaning towards GCW... can any GCW brides share like how much their guests give for ang pao on average for GCW wedding?

cos for example if you hold at Raffles Hotel and if you hold at Hotel 81 sure your guests will give different amounts right... so want to find out roughly how much people give for GCW... thanks!

After yesterday, I find the bridal suite very small so Im checking with my coordinator can upgrade to a bigger suite.. hope she is flexible enough..

i've met up with Elizabeth twice... once to recce and once during the recent bridal show... she's nice, not pushy at all, and quite understanding... but in terms of coordinating the items and all, can't really say cos haven't officially booked with her, but she seems quite experienced so most likely will go ahead with her for the booking...

for us we originally wanted 20/09/2009 but instead of charging us the normal Sunday rate, they are charging the auspicious date thing which was like $1388 which is like $400 more per table... i was like WT#$(!#&%!#$%*?!?!!? so in the end, we figured that it's a busy date then all the PG, VG, MUA etc all either will also be very booked, and guests also might have a few weddings so either cannot come or something... so now we are open to other dates so we'd rather wait for the wedding show and get the perks... if the date is so important to you, then it might be better that you go ahead and "chup" it first... but if it's not such a hot date you might just try to risk it lor for the perks...

they had the millenium group wedding show previously in march... then my coordinator Elizabeth told me even before that, sometime in Dec 07 or Jan 08 that they planning a GCW only wedding fair prob in May - July period... so she actually told us not to book first since we are flexible on the date...

i think their current perks are decent, but not fantastic... will leave it up to my hubby to negotiate... cos he has his list of things that he wants... since hubby do all the work then i'll just go along for the ride... last time i made this excel comparing all the perks and prices... but he has been the one updating it...

Understand that u changed some of the dishes. e.g. the prawns to herbal steam prawns which is in the 9course (fri/sat) menu, do u have to pay additonal?

woah..i oso aiming for 2 nights stay but when i asked them they r very adamant on not giving it.. Even for some standard things that most other hotels r giving (such as free food tasting), they say cannot give as well.. So, quite strict. But at least, i muz say the coordinator i met was nice and flexible enuff to allow me to exchange certain perks for others which i need more...

faithz, have u discussed with the hotel on the perks already?
