Hi Beary,
Sorry for disappearing for so long, its been a busy week in the lab, and so sad, the expt didnt work! Got to repeat. But only after I enjoy the weekend, haha. Its always so crowded in the canteen that I end up eating really early or late, and sometimes at the NUH staff canteen or NUH. Lucky you, can pack and eat at lab, there is no such space for us here in our lab.

How was your Vday? It came by and over so fast. I celebrated the day before with dinner at sentosa by the beach, its quite pretty, try it sometime. And there were so many stalls selling flowers in the canteen!

Hehe, curious Beary! I was from that JC, so viola, he should be able to tell you who I am!

Sorry abt the photos, in the end FH's camera is spoilt, cannot take photos. So sad! Probably got to buy new one, but still deciding which one to get.

BTW, I saw in the other thread that you have evening gowns for sale, can I take a look too? My email is [email protected] Actually I have not settled the dress for my ROM yet; cannot decide between what I have, and the date is drawing closer!

Didn't really celebrate vday. just went for dinner that weekend in town. i was stuck in the lab on vday till pretty late..tat's sad rite...spending vday in a lab =( oh well..

How are your wedding preparations coming along? Have you decided where you are going for honeymoon? There are many travel fairs now, good time to source.

Hi Beary,
My ROM date will be on the 25th March, the day before our 67th month anniversary! Now looking back it feels like that is so long ago, but there is still a long way ahead! Now counting down to it! Have you and your FH known each other for a long time?

Hmm... Club Med does sound good! They are one of those places with all inclusive right? I didnt know they had one in Cherating. I love Bintan too, I stayed at Mayang Sari then and loved the beach. The spa part is really tempting me now! I heard that the spa is cheap in Batam, so may try there. Have you been there? Either that or Pangkor Island in Malaysia, but the journey to get there is rather long. The deciding factor now is cost, and after calculating all the total costs for the ROM we may have to settle for something simple. I still totally agree that Alaska is a wonderful choice, take your time and plan, esp the budget part. I am not of much help about the photographer/videographer part because I have not been sourcing; good luck with it!

Haha, yup, S24 was pretty close, and we must have all been in the orange house then. Davit was not in a triple sci course, so thats why you may not know him. He was from Swiss cottage sec. Did you do your secondary sch here too?

Yup, clubmed is all inclusive. I've never been there myself, but heard from my friend that the food is really good. The one in Bintan is quite affordable.. The last time I went to Bintan, I stayed at Angsana. It was nice, spa was nice too but pretty exp coz they charge in USD. I heard Asmara spa is better and cheaper..think there's one branch in mayang sari. I guess after ROM it's better to go with something simple and save $ for ur honeymoon & customary next time. As long as u can relax for a couple of days n enjoy some couple time

So romantic, you both knew each other since childhood! I only got to know FH when we were in uni, and haha, since if you count the number of years its not so many so we counted the number of months! We had initially considered having the ROM in campus, but could not decide on a nice spot.

Yup, got to pick somewhere affordable, cause like you said there is still the AD and honeymoon plus housing to worry about. I guess now its just Batam or take leave and stay in SG.

So you came here since secondary school to study? I was here since primary school. BTW, i am going home today till the weekend, so no internet connection back home. Will chat with you again next week; have a good weekend!

ROM in campus is actually a very good idea! hee..so romantic. An outdoor party will be nice, i like the green spot at the forum..below central lib. hee..if it rains can always move the party to the forum. hehe..of course, it won't be as nice as having it in FS. plus the logistics r gonna b crazy.. 67 months is a long time! it's over 5 years..

If ur considering Batam n Bintan, I think Bintan is nicer and safer...

U've been here since primary school? wow...that's a long time.. did u stay with relatives last time? I used to stay in hostel..

I finally have time to come online! Work has been so busy, its such a great difference from the slow and relaxing break I had at home. The honours students are writing up, and I am rushing some experiment with one of the students. Hopefully all goes well so I can get more rest soon, otherwise lack of beauty sleep me will get panda eyes!

How was your weekend?

We had originally thought of doing the ROM where we first met - LT21. But alas, in the end worried that there may be construction around there, so decided against it... Would have been fun there too! Hmm.. Between batam and bintan, may have to pick bintan b'cause its cheaper and we have not been there before. But its true that Bintan is safer. Now still dragging our feet on this matter.

Did you used to stay at the hostel at Hwa Chong area? I knew many friends who stayed there. For myself I stayed with my uncles family all the while I was studying here.

I know what you mean, I've been very busy in the lab too..so tiring. Wish can just stop everything and take a break..My weekend was alrite. I finally settled on a photographer for my AD and ordered bridal shoes! Finally 2 more things to cross off my list...Hee... Have u found the dress for ur ROM?

I stayed at CJC hostel during JC days actually.. Pretty sucky hostel..hee...During sec school I stayed in the east, at another hostel in telok kurau area. Ur so lucky u have relatives to stay with

staying in hostel, although can be quite fun at times, definitely has its disgusting moments! haha...

I'm sorry that I've disappeared again, its still the busy period now. I am having my presentation next Monday at the Micro Department at 3pm, hehe, do drop by if you are free!

Wow, you are custom making your bridal shoes? Thats nice! Where are you doing it? I have finally decided on a simple knee-length dress for the ROM, and found the shoes too at Xdus! Guess I did not settle for the style of dress that is popular for ROM; its not a long tube dress and there are bits of black too. Instead I went for something that I felt good in and will wear again... Haha, its like practicality won in the end. FH and I have been to FS this week to view Windows east again and to plan with them how to arrange the tables etc. I hope all goes well though. There are still quite a few things for me to settle, the favours, and the buffet dinner for my relatives the night before. Any caterers to recommend or avoid?

For me staying with relatives here was quite difficult too. Imagine having two sets of scoldings each time, parents and uncle/auntie!

So I always though staying in hostel was more fun, and more freedom too! Are you staying with hubby now?

I couldnt find the right shoes even after goin round n round the whole orchard for 2 days! wanted a closed-toe, champagne colored shoes that's 3.5 inches high..pretty impossible to find apparently. so had no choice but 2custom-make it.. I'm doin it at Leapin lizard at intl plaza coz the price is pretty affordable..

I agree with you tat ROM dress shld b smth u can wear again!

no point buying smth tat u can only wear once. i wore a knee length dress 4my ROM too last yr.. U must b getting pretty excited by now. It's only a week away rite?

I'm not very familiar with caterers..but i've heard tat purple sage is pretty good.. kriston is quite popular too coz they did a few celebrity weddings i think...

Its my Masters presentation only. I am not doing further, at least not here and right now; I am so sick of studying. The venue is at MD4 Level 3 seminar room at 3pm 20th. Hehe, then can finally meet up with you!

I know what you mean about finding the right shoes! I too had a hard time finding the type that I had in mind as I did not want slip-in ones but those with a back strap/covered so at least not so noisy. In the end I dragged my friends everywhere to search for it. Its good to hear that you had it custom made, that way its unique to you, and just the way you love it to be. Will you be taking your studio shots soon? Your bridal package does not cover the photographer?

Yipee, its one more week away! I am really excited about it, and I am glad that the rings that FH designed turned out as we expected! That is one less worry. Now we are trying to assign our siblings to help us on that day, like collect my flowers, reception table etc. And hopefully next week I can take some break after the presentation! As for the favours, I am going to bake cookies and make a little something else. FS did not offer us any favours, no invites either, so we had to make the invites too. Guess they gather they dont make too much for this small celebration. Hehe, sorry I am rattling on about the preparations!

Thanks for the recommnedations of the caterers! I will check it out. Pretty last minute now, hope I can settle it soon. How are your preps coming along? Anything else you need to settle?

Thats nice to hear that you have a love nest already.

We have not gotten a place yet, so wil be staying apart till the customary, but thats a long way off. Better try to save more now...

my prof already looked for me early in the morning with a long list of experiments he wants me to do coz we just got a new equipment. It's like endless work!! Told him I wanna graduate already, but I think he's not very willing to let me go... sigh.. hope I can finish by Oct this year..Maybe we can meet another time when ur on campus ya

My PS is next week.. the day b4 ur ROM! hee..I didn't take a package from my BS, coz I don't need some things in the package like car and I'm not sure how good is the photographer that they work with. so only bought my WG and FH's suits. For photography, I engage Beetles@work..

I'm now just preparing 4PS..had another fitting last week, so the WG is more or less settled. just need 2decide on hand bouquet and collect my accessories. Hopefully after the PS I can go back to wedding prep. Still havent bought the embosser! hee..card design is also not finalized yet.. haven't had food tasting either. Still so many things 2settle!

I must say that altho it's nice to have our own place, it's pretty tiring too..hee.. so much chores to do!

I am so excited that I have not been sleeping to well! Hope I dont get too bad eye bags tomorrow. My flowers are from this small florist in Siglap where FH always goes to buy flowers for me. Have decided on peonies, can't wait to see it! What flowers do you have in mind for your bouquet? I think a lot also depends on your gown... Dont worry, all will come along as planned!

My photoshoot was super tiring to the point that I just wanna go home asap. Definitely not something I wanna do again. I smiled so much till my mouth was frozen and my teeth dried! hee.. But thank God the weather was great, despite the forecast of thunderstorm. It was very cloudy when we left the studio, but luckily it didn't rain. I had pink/cream roses and eustomas for my bouquet, with some lace flowers. Asked my BS to just help me buy coz I didn't have time to settle it myself.

Hope to hear from u soon. Can't wait to hear stories about ur party!

We were pretty nervous on the day itself, and the ceremony went by very fast! It was definitely a touching moment when we were exchanging rings.

And the service at FS is fantastic! The room we stayed was a deluxe, and I found it to be very spacious. Tell me how the bridal suite is like when you stay there! The service was great too, very personalized. Very wonderful experience with FS!

Now I know what you mean by being tiring to smile the whole day! But I am sure your photos will come out pretty, and your bouquet sounds beautiful. Do share with me photos when you get them?
