Copyrights to show DVD during banquet?

[finally_married]

Hi --- This is a really random question and I am not sure who to go to for help.

I am thinking of showing a short cartoon clip (about 1.5minute) from Disney during my wedding banquet. Does anyone have any idea what are the legal implications and if there is any way to do this? Thanks sooooooooooo much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hmmm... I guess there isn't any issues with copyright, as long as the usage is not for mass distribution or mass production. Personal uses normally is alright...

Thanks so much Johnny!!! Guess I got worried when all DVDs say it's for "Home usage"...

There should have some copyright issues when you are using or tampering with a copyrighted work.

Another way to avoid such troublesome issues, would be to give credit.

E.G:

Credit to: Walt Disney's Animation titled "Cinderella"

and place this one-liner at a corner of the video clip, throughout the whole duration of the video clip.
