What happens if you have signed a contract but you have not started work yet and in the meantime, you find another job that you like better and you decide to take up that job instead?

Will you be penalized for the first job you signed the contract with BUT have yet to start working?

Depending on the terms and conditions stated in the contract. Normally the clauses shall be stated out in the event if you revoke the contract or leave the job premature on contract span is there any penalties involved.

try writing to them explaining your situation & be very apologetic. Most of the time, they will let you go but you can forget about going to work there anymore.

Now economy so bad, they have no problems finding 10 more eager people to take your place.
