Catholic Brides - Recommended Florist for Church Decor

Hi ladies,

Will you choose a venue that is not your parish? I kinda like another church because of its outlook but would that be too superficial a reason? >.<

Another thing is .. if I do choose a venue that is not my parish church, do I ask the Priest at the other church? Will it be too weird?

Hi Shanawawa,
I totally understand how you feel. I for one, wanted to do that too cos my church looks... boring. There was this gorgeous old church I fell in love with. Unfortunately despite writing in and all, they do not allow non-members to marry there. So it really depends whether the church allow it or not. I think it's impt you have your own priest marry you or it would be quite meaningless. i am not sure if that is ok in catholic practices so you have to check with your church or the church you intend to use. I don't really see a problem but be good to check.

Disappointed with Fleur D'sign service.

Would not get my church to be done up by them. They totally screwed up my ROM bouquet

Hi, I actually engaged a budget florist for my church wedding at Calvary Pandan. Her job is good for the price I had paid. Affordable , simple and nice. I manage to get many items inclusive church decor, bridal bouquet, bridesmaid & flower gal bouquet, corsages, headgear and 2 handbouquet for mum.
She is flexible too and able to adjust according to our budget and let us know which one to cut and which one to emphasize. Pay more attention to your bridal bouquet.

Pm me if want the quotation and wanna see my simple yet affordable church decor , bridal bouquet , etc or just email her at [email protected] for quotation.

I also do not agree that cheap = no quality.
Some small start up entreprenuer really put effort and have the time to do a well done job at a affordable price compare to others with a busy schedule. They are more flexible and reasonable at their pricing. Sometimes depend what you want and personal preferences, i think.
Most important, discuss and let your florist know in details ,your requirement and needs.

Hi Booga

Tried to pm you but your pm is disabled. Do you mind sharing with me the pictures of your church decor, car decor and bridal bouquet? I'm looking for a florist for my church wedding but dont want to burn my pocket.

My email is [email protected]

Thank you!

Ladies,

I had used Language of Love (located next to Shell petrol kiosk, Novena) for my church decor at SFX. I used this florist whenever i go for Novena svc. They provided good nice simple decor and wont ask u to put unncessary stuff. I only wanted pews flowers, weddings chairs decor, hand bouquet, corsages and 12 pairs of following cars ribbons. All under $500...! Cheap and reliable florist i had. u can contact Aunty Dolly at 62548837.

OMG.. Whoever use [email protected] must be outta her mind.

I got serve by this lady: Caroline. Obviously was a very bad experience.

Ask you questions even after you have specifically told her the answer before she even asked. Like what theme you want etc, you let her know beforehand.

In the mid of convo, she strike again asking you, "so what is your theme"? Damn. Can you imagine? Is not just one question, but many important questions she asked, I have ardy told her beforehand.

I find her very unattentive and didn't get back to me the next day when she supposed to. When i remind her about her no-reponse behaviour is not something i favor, she reply with an attitude saying: 'I remember I told you need a week, if you think a week is too long then sorry'.

So it literally translates to 'u want, u wait 1week, if can't wait then I can't help'

Gosh man!
MOREOVER, i feel so unjustice, I still thought I mistaken her for not following up, I went and check all our emails exchanges. I am VERY SURE she didn't mentioned anything, nothing at all about the get back to me within one month thingy.

1 phrase to describe her: WHAT A BIT*H

May I know how much is the average for a catholic church wedding floral decoration? $300-$400? I don't intend to be too extravagant. Just something simple. Is that the normal range?

Thanks

Hi Diane,

We are from the management of myflowershouse. Firstly, we apologize to you if there were any misunderstanding. The management has investigated into this incident . We believe there was some miscommunication and misunderstanding at hand here. Our findings:-

1) Her email responses to you were on daily basis. She mentioned in the e-mail dated Apr 6 that she needed a week to get back with the proposal; whilst at the same time, requested for some clarification of your requirements.

2) As for the wedding theme, you mentioned the pictures' numbers in the link. It would appear that she missed out on this point and she requested for a clarification. She wanted to have a clearer picture to plan for your wedding day. From her understanding, she was unsure of your request, as you mentioned that it was not a sit-down dinner. Thus, she was under the impression it will be a garden wedding. She requested for a confirmation in case she prepared the wrong proposal for you.

We can all agree that it would be best to clarify all of our customer's requirements in order to achieve the required expectation of our customers. This will prevent any misunderstanding of our customer requirements; which may result in a major revamp of the proposal further down the road. We hope you can understand the rational behind the need for clarification.

> Diane,
>
> noted and I shall check what can I do for you @ $500
> I need one week to get back to you on the rough idea.
>
> As for your link provided, all the pictures are for different themes, so I am not sure which theme you are referring too.
> Seems like yours is going to be a garden wedding theme?
> Location near to garden wing and fountain, Pavallion 1 or 2 or 3?
> Do you have anything in mind so that I can plan anything closest to your liking, unable to prepare and judge from the link provided as too many themes there.

3) In fact, she mentioned in the e-mail dated Apr 6, that she requires 1 week to prepare the proposal of your big day. As for her response on Apr 7, she thought that you needed to make the decision by that day, so she apologized if you could not wait for a week. She meant no harm and was not trying to imply anything else. Do check her last reply (attached below) to you explaining the situation:-

> Hi Diane,
>
> Below is what I wrote on the previous email regarding the 1 week timeline.
> Sorry for any misunderstanding.
> Ok and noted.

Enclosed are all the email correspondence between the two of you for transparency purposes. This was merely an email misunderstanding that was blown out of proportion, as some of our staff tend to not write in details or might overlook certain things, and made assumptions like our staff did. Having said that, we do believe that our staff have room for improvement as well.

The management sincerely apologize for any misunderstanding.

Woah, another SUPERB thing that the 'myflowershouse' has did! Placed every single thing I have shared to her to show out to the world here! Gosh, meaning my plan, my idea, my budget, my venue, my color theme, wedding date, everything shared with her can be taken by anyone since is all lie out here..

I CERTAINLY do not think she is clearing any misunderstanding but rather pin-pointing who is right or wrong here.

O ya certainly if you ladies do not wanna experience the same as me.. Please run far away from this florist ok..

Those who don listen, bobian hor? Ltr ur ideas etc pour out here in IE world, don cry le lo.
Not everyone so fortunate like me can find a so damn good florist to build up a brand new idea from scratch de.

Btw, flowerhouse, have you registered with SGbrides to anyhw actually 'clarify' or claim whatever you have stated here on the behalf of your company? Do you know only registered company able to do that here? If you are not registered here, your post will be deleted soon.

Also to be fair, let me share what I have send to all florist that I have shortlisted and they do not get back to me within 48hr:
"The floor plan is also out. I haven received from you after ytd my reply to you. Personally, I do not like such no response behavior. If you think you cannot work out what I want in my budget, let me know. So i can cancel you off my list as my potential florist. Thanks a million"

Guess myflowerhouse rude reply:
"As per my previous email, I remember that I need one week to plan for you.
But if you think a week is too long then my apologise.

I try to check my email daily but not often as I need to do my flowers arrangement and meet other client as well."

Take a look at my brilliant florist professional reply (this is what a customer service should be like):
"Sorry for the late reply , we are currently having a really heavy project going on , we hope you understand =)

We have replied from the mail ealier too , we really hope you would understand we are trying to reply to mails everyday , however due to a last minute goverment project , we have to juggle the time between both , we may have to take note of this point , thanks for your feedback and we deeply apologise for the late reply , please pardon us on this point .

Lookig forward to hear from you soon =)"

Another shortlisted florist professional reply by stefii:
"Apologies, been out all day doing setup today.
I could work within your budget and let you know how best we could do it.
Please give me some time, say this Sunday. My schedule is a bit busy this week.
Speak to you soon."

Another professional reply by enchanted:
"I did not realise you were waiting for a response as I had been awaiting the floor plan you mentioned that you would send today. I believe there was a miscommunication somewhere. In the meantime, if you have anything you require me to quote on, please feel free to let me know.
Thanks and have a great day"

Based on those kinda reply vs myflowerhouse's reply and what she or rather the mgmt has done lying out all my stuffs discuss with her via email to this public forum? Well.. I guess customer know what they should choose to experience the best right?

Enuff said, now move to my personal experience. Glad that I have engaged another BRILLIANT FLORIST!! She is the best...

I cannot imagine how fortunate I am to have found my florist: Fleurdsign by Christina.

Ytd, she has visited the venue together with me and my hotel coordinator.

Thereafter, we settled down in McDonalds to discuss whatever she had in mind. Omg, her idea is so brilliant. She show me some of her previous work. And done up a totally brand new creative theme for me!! (Not going to share here till after my wedding). But guess how long we took to discuss? 5hours!! Gosh, for my that peanuts of budget, I think normal florist won't even bother to give me more than 1hr of their time.

But for christina, omg!! Totally professional!!
We discuss so many different ideas!! From 1st to last, some really very very nice brilliant sophsicated idea but was too outta my budget, so we drop that idea. Christina is way too brilliant.

She is also very frank with me. She told me what should I focus on and what I should not. If I do those 'should not do' de is machiam throwing $$ to the rubbish bin. She rather help me save $ and do on other more meaningful stuffs. Unlike some rude florist (like the one on top throwing all my previous ideas out), she do a brand new idea for me (mine and only version). Glad I have her to restart all planning from scratch to sum up to a final idea.

Ytd durin my visit with her, she also give me many tips to ask abt from my hotel coordinator. As is my 1st time getting marry, of course there are many tings I am uncertain. She is so good to tell me all relevant things I should clarify with my hotel.

Other than that, even when things are not within her 'florist' job. She also share with me what programme can I do during my dinner.
She has a pretty lovely daughter with her too when we are discussing. Her daughter is so cute!! Clever too can take over her biz in future. LOL

hi all

do we need two flower bouquets: one for tossing to the single ladies and one for consecreting to Mother Mary during mass?

can share thots

Hi Blessed Couple...you only need one bouquet. I guess if you want to offer it to Mother Mary, you cannot use it for tossing. But my priest told me that offering it to Mother Mary is not a must and in fact he discouraged it.

Hi Babes...this post is long overdue. It's been almost a year since I got married and I've wanting to commend Mia from Blissful Thots of the great job she did on my wedding day!

After much discussion, she managed to pull off draping tulle from the 2nd floor of my church complete with a hanging bouquet. It was perfect! My church was opposed to it and I'm was pleasantly surprised to see it upon entering the Church!

And I also voiced to her that I did not like the couple chairs that the church provided (for those who have gotten married in IHM, you should know what I mean). They were red and bulky and totally mismatched my colour theme. But as I took my seat that day, I was touched that Mia had managed to find seat covers for the seats and decorate them according to what I planned. (the chairs are bulky, so finding seat covers were almost impossible)

Thanks heaps Mia!! Am really grateful :-)

ask the Church Secretariat which florist normally supply flowers for weekend masses, they can recommend..., then you can approach them for quotations

Hi! I need help girls... My wedding day will be hels next year in Blessed Sacrament Church. Does any one have yours in there? What florist did you use? Thank You

Hi all!

Sing See Soon is my church florist. They sent me a proposal of the arrangements and the floral arrangements are gorgeous!!! =)))

I've looked through samples on their Facebook http://www.facebook.com/SingSeeSoon and on their website http://singseesoon.com/. They have a long working relationship with many of the hotels and they have done many a church wedding decoration so im very sure the arrangements will turn out excellent.

I've met with Grace and her team and they are extremely professional. Hope you can find your florist!

hi has anyone book church wedding @ St Anne church before? Any review the florist who is in charge. They get their flowers from Far East...Can share experience if possible?

Hi all

We had our wedding at St Teresa's recently and engaged the church florist - Wendi See. It was such a joy working with Wendi - she was patient and helped us understand what was required, she listened to what we liked (no gerberas!) and created a beautiful church decoration for our wedding.

She also kindly helped to answer some of our non-decor related questions such as how to work the AV equipment in church and other small things like - when does church open for mass, etc.

I strongly recommend working with Wendi if you are hosting your church wedding at St Teresa's.
