Buy pearl for bridesmaid

@Ting Yi - I am wedding planner... right now i have an idea to create a 'pearl' wedding.... but not sure pp's response toward pearl. Do you have any other place that can help me on this?

Too expensive lah considered that the pearls are "AA Grade", means man-made, and not even shell pearl. These days freshwater pearls are very common and not expensive.

Sorry, I thought AA means imitation kind of grading like designer handbag replicas.

OK, the website didn't state what kind of pearls they use - saltwater natural, saltwater cultured, freshwater, shell or swarovski pearls?

Also, I don't think there is a standard for pearl grading. So, all these AA or AAA grading are quite meaningless info for consumers.

Milo, there are different types of pearl to cater to different market segments. Saltwater natural and saltwater cultured pearls are of course pricey. But freshwater and shell pearls (depending on size and shape) need not be expensive. One needs to know what type of pearl he/she is paying for, and where they come from.
