Bridal package or ala-carte

Hello there, I'm a 2016 btb.
I am torn between bridal packages and going ala-carte.
Will not take be taking photography packages from bridal boutiques, so I'm looking at just gowns and the others.

How much will the packages be for bridal boutique with photography?
And is it worth it to go ala-carte?

Many thanks !!

Hello, I'm a 2016 btb too. I didn't take the bridal packages due to cost constraints and fear of any hidden costs/"top-ups". The thing with ala Carte is that there's alot more flexibility in choosing the different aspects, from photographer, to gown, to makeup artist etc. But of course, that comes with more planning , research and coordination which may be more tedious and complicated. So it depends on your priority and what you want (more control or less hassle).

Hello I'm a 2016 btb too. You mean packages for bridal without photography right? Since you already said you're not taking photography packages? You should find out what bridal you wanna engage and then find their prices from there. Different bridals have different styles and price range so what's your budget?

It will be worth it if you engage all the vendors that you like via ala-carta and if you have the money to spare. But of course if you can be happy with bridal photography package and the convenience of everything all thrown in together then it will be worth it also. It goes both ways, eventually the end product must be what you will be happy with.

As a reference, my prewed shoot I took up with a bridal shop because they offered a good price that suits my budget and partly I was unfortunately psychoed at a roadshow. But my AD I decided to go with another bridal because I found some gowns that I like and that package only has gowns suits and AD makeup without Photography and Videography because for that I engaged another vendor.

Good luck! :)

@ohmytego hihi! Do u mind sharing which bridal you went for AD gown and makeup? I am sourcing for choices for AD gown too since i got my pre-wedding photography and AD videography seperately.

Likely going with Digio. Make an appt with your shortlisted bridals and go down to see and try the gowns. They won't push you to sign unless you are unlucky to meet pushy ones. I also went to Zwedding but their AD package is way out of my budget.

Have you had any in mind? :)

Not really. I like the gowns I saw from Rico's FB page so far but haven been to any bridals for gown fitting. Do you have any to recommend? Anw im interested to know how much is Digio and Zwedding's AD package. Dun mind if u share or pm me? Thanks!! :)

Ya. Me too.
The gowns at Rico looks quite nice. Was thinking of getting Rico but not sure how much will the package for just gowns be.

Hi I'm a 2016 btb too.. at first i also think of doing ala carte and i went around to find a few gown shops.. but in the end i fall in love with bridal packages becos they have some unique and i love to wear .. what makes me less worry is that the sales person said i m not the plus sized one.. so i got more variety to choose ... plus the packages actually have alot more for me to save .. time consuming , travel fare and lots more...

heyo, i'm a 2016 btb too, and i took all my packages separately and actually it cost more as we hated pushy bridal shops and we want photos that were nice and we didn't had to bargain a hand and feet for extra photos to keep.
There are certain perks to have ala carte of cos price is the downside cos you probably get what you want compared to a all in one studio, i had friends who didn't get to choose a gown they like after looking at all the gowns in the shop and no choice pick whatever is available.

We have decided to go alacarte for our wedding after much thoughts.
Though it will cost more but I guess we will be more satisfied with the final outcome.

I'm on budget and going ala carte too, but not sure how to go about it. I only want to rent gown. Anyone did ala carte before and can recommend where to rent gowns?

There are a few places for ala carte depending on budget. I heard the gown warehouse is pretty good and cheap, haven't been there.

Another option I went was to Rico A Mona, they are not pushy and you can try the gowns. Ala carte rental is about 2k plus for day, evening and Kua plus other stuff can't remember now. I almost book from them.

You can buy bridal gowns and evening gowns from bridal studio clearance sales too, if you don't mind past season seasons. That's how I settled my gowns. Costs about $150 to $400 each. We even got suits for htb at $20 each. All still in pretty ok condition. But of course, they aren't first hand (just like rentals).

Hi Jerloves, Sounds good! where to find such deals?

Sometimes in forums like this one or on bridal studio websites. The one I went was la belle couture's private sale in July.

Otherwise you can also look out for some pretty good pre-owned gowns in this forum as well.
