Hi ladies, I'm here to talk to you about my wedding that i've been planning since last year August-September 2014. My wedding will be held in Bali and we found a wedding planner from bali. At first we thought she's quite nice and she agreed with the budget we gave her (Since she asked so we told her). As soon as we paid the deposit for her to be our WP, she started to give us an excel work of all the price list from head to toe. We appreciated what she did but she started to give the price double from what we asked.
When i confronted her about the total amount, she said "every WP will tell you they can do it but at the end of the day you will only be getting a super simple wedding." i felt so cheated that we couldn't even undo everything.
Apart from all of that chaotic with the amount, bear in mind we also paid her coordination fee of USD1900 and on top of that she tried to get commission out of everything else. Lets just give you an example:
1. She's trying to charge me Rp. 18mil for entertainment (Band) when i found other band which is out there when you google them (I tried to google her vendor but i couldn't find) and they are only charging us Rp. 14mil.
2. We asked about beverage packages, she told us that caterer said to take package 3 (more expensive one to avoid corkage fee) and when i contacted the caterer myself, they said package 2 (less expensive one). Again, i felt cheated...
3. She said she will get back to us (that was 15.11.2014) as soon as she received a new price 2015 for other caterer and today is march the 17th. She did not even feel the need to update us if she's still waiting or what not.
We decided to whatsapp her today and she told us she's still waiting for the vendors to send her all the new prices. It is really odd because we are already in the quarter of 2015 and why on earth she's still waiting for pricing?
She became unhappy and told my partner if he has any questions or requests, just email and don't whatsapp as it is for urgent use only. I did not wanna get involved so i was just reading all the conversation which i was in the loop too.
I'm quick minded person so i just told my partner that it is an urgent matter after abandoned us for 4 months!!! without ANY SINGLE NEWS/UPDATES!
I wonder what you girls would do in such situation. My wedding is 6 months away from now. She has nothing prepared for us and told my partner she doesn't have the new rate for all the vendors. And when he asked for the new rate or whatever rate she has now, she responded to us by telling us to use the old rate.
So basically she hasn't been doing anything!?
We actually had everything settled OUR OWN. We found our vendors ourselves. We just felt left out by her because she didn't bother to email us to find out what we are up to. And also we want to see what is she doing with the new rate and we want to compare the pricing too.
I would appreciate if some of you could boost me up with some encouragement. or opposite its fine! I wonder if we did wrong or that the planner is ridiculous.
