Don't worry Zarcy. Remember to tell them exactly what you want and work it out. I told them exactly what i wanted and kept reminding them about it.

Good luck to all the pretty brides!

i'm ex-amara bride. asked them abt some stuff but the way she replied wasnt tat good. preferred my old coordinator, M.

if u r signing wif them, do ask for incentives like 1st yr's anniversary freebies fr them. noticed tat some hotels do throw in such incentives. e.g. traders.

actually i nvr asked them abt it. stuck to the basic package cos most hotels offer the same things. :p

photos wise, the setup has changed since then so it's not exactly applicable now.

Hi all, I am new to singapore brides. Was interested in Amara for its pricing and deco (from website). However, seeing the earlier treads that service is bad, I am getting worried and in dilema on the choice of hotels. Anyone got experience to share and photos of the Amara bridal suite and ballroom deco? i kinda booked an appointment with T next Mon. see how it goes.

hey Jeni, i guess for me.. everything works out fine enough.. i can't say for sure that all was perfect and we got everything we wanted.. but as long as we are willing to compromise on some demands, i believe the hotel mgt is willing to listen.. i would say that they are pretty strict in giving the perks but guess it's the same for all hotels.. give it a try.. hear what they have to say before u start worryin!

Thanks for advice. I haven't really looked into those perks and stuff, actually not really sure what to bargain for. My parents probably wouldnt wan beer nor wine, does that solve most of the problem? =) For me, concern will mainly be good food, nice deco, good screen and suite. Of cos hopefully with good service too. how's the quality of food??

i haven't had my food tasting yet.. so i can't advise.. for me.. food is not too much of a concern coz 1. i dun't get to eat! heehee.. 2. we can please everybody!

perks wise quite standard la.. i managed to take a peek at the suite.. not too bad.. with a pool view.. my fiancee commented that it's better then that of 4 seasons.. haha... it's up to your imagination! hahaha

when is ur dinner goin to be?

Oh ok, that's nice to hear the the suite is not too bad. cos i suppose the window view wouldn't be fanastic given the location of the hotel. i am trying to find end Sep weekend Sat/Sun. quite hard to get these dates elsewhere right now as i just started the search. so got to compromise on somethings. my bf was more concern on food for the guests, to me, i m fine too. Just hope that location for guests will be alright n not too troublesome.. you are right, can't please everyone. So when is your AD?

Hi Jeni, I signed with Amara recently. I felt it was not to bad, same sentiments as darine_gal. Why dun u go ahead and meet up with ur wedding coordinator and see what they have to offer and the environment. After that, then decide on it. The poolside is really nice, a place u can consider if you want a place for ur solemnisation =)

Advance congrats to all bride & groom-to-be. I hope after all the feedback given to the hotel , their standard of service has improved. Not too sure if the suite will be decorated, prob you can demand that, cos mine wasn't. Food wise, it's good. When you go for food tasting, the portion will be huge, no need to feedback about the quantity cos end of the day, when they serve so many tables, it will be just right.

cheers and enjoy

my co-ordinator is T. she is quite good. I do agree that they are quite strict with their perks but no harm trying your luck in asking for more perks. good luck! the food tasting not too bad alhtough there are some dishes can be improved. anywhere, like what someone said, the bride and groom won';t be eating!

Hi! I just finished my AD. No problem with their services (what a relief!). My coordinator is P and the banquet / ops mgr is J. P was around till after my 1st march in. The ops mgr was also very helpful, offering my hubby butter to eat before the phototaking session (he says eating butter can lessen the effects of alocohol... never heard of it before.

Yes, the suite is quite nice. Mine is decorated according to the theme i chose (Romance). Room has red roses, bath tub filled with water & rose petals, bedsheets with those cute chinese bride & groom pictures.

Hi All! I am new here.. Could anyone share with me some photos of the themes? [email protected]

Also, please advise if there is any hidden cost we have to take note and if there is additional freebies that we request for? Thanks!

mingkai..

hidden cost would most like be the corkage.. none other i can think of at the moment..

amara is pretty strict so freebies wise abit tough! heehee... i din get anything extra either! hahaha...

as for the themes.. i understand that there will be new ones applicable for the year 2008... so honestly no point looking at the old ones for now.. maybe u can pop by the place when there's a wedding to get a feel of the actual ballroom, rather then the themes..
my 2 cents worth!

JJ.. there will be new themes coming fast enuff i tink..
as for the appearance of the ballroom with and without full lightings.. maybe u can drop by there and ask ur coordinator to show you? beats looking at pictures i feel..

i hope the suite wil be decorated too.. but it's not stated in my contract so i doubt so.. honestly.. once u sign there is no more to debate about..

Will the bridal suite be decorated? The coordinator did not mention anything about the suite will be decorated according to the theme we've selected.... Or do we have to ask for it?

no decorations.. confirmed.. i asked my coordinator about it and she confirmed that the suite will be the standard hotel set up with welcome fruit basket only!

Hi all BTBs

Realise I didnt really post anything after my wedding recently.

Just for you gals to know more (I noe u definately wana noe feedback):

Some good things:
Jeffery - the experienced banquet mgr
Food - good portion and did cater to the taste of majority
Dinner Service - Friends and family all said that waiters & waitresses were friendly. There was a group of friends who didnt know each other, but an auntie waitress took initiative and helped them split the food, joking "If i don't do this, all of u will be too shy to eat!" ~ i think this was great.
Bridal suite - Very big, good enuf for my friends to hang around before the wedding.

Some minus points:
My sandwich - i was supposed to have sandwich b4 the wedding started (its in the contract), so that I wun go hungry. But it didnt come and I had to call the coord to chase for it. By the time it came, it was time for me to go down.
1st March in - The dry ice was practically ZERO. I walked tru w/out any effect in the end. I was very sad coz my pathetic bubbles already fail on me. My frenz consoled me sayg "at least we can see yr dress". No smoke - untill we reached the stage, a strong gush of 'dry ice' smoke came out from their machine, and i cudn't even see my hubby! We had to freeze in fnt of the stage for 1 min before it cleared and den go up stage. wad the..
Access card - tot i was the only one. after the whole dinner, me and my freakg tired frenz went up. all the cards cud not work. My frenz were all pissed. the mgr took 15 mins to come up to fix the prob.

well do take note, all the best to all the BTBs!
