Oh dear Gelaine, I was served by Patricia...and am still abit upset when I think back. My hubby said she was probably uninterested because I look like a young student that just wanted to ask for fun, although, I didn't think that was any basis for anyone to show such attitude.

My hubby and I will be looking around at other hotels and venues first, will remember to ask for Albert if we decide to go back and give Amara another shot.

Well... guess they arent that professional then. The last time i went was by another gal and she din seem too sincere too. Was quite disappointed as we really wanted to hold our ROM there. But well, we did find a better place after that though and i fully enjoyed my ROM. Heh...but my friend who went to see Albert was quite happy with his service like i mentioned.

Anyway good luck for your hotel hunt.

Yup, I agree with you!

My AD is in Feb 07, so I still have time. Hubby says we don't need to rush becos our wedding is on a Monday, which is not very popular with couples, so we'll be taking our time to source around! What about you? Which hotel did you book with in the end?

Very satisifed with their service.

Oh geez... but my hubby is pretty stubborn....hopefully we can find a place that he likes because I have yet to hear him say anthing nice about anywhere yet! I was looking at Carlton too....but have yet to bring hubby to see the place...

yeah.. their food quality is not a prob one.. alot of my guests said that its nice..

as for the cards, if you are printing inserts, try to find shimmery paper to match the shimmery cards and the effect will be nicer

sorry i was an 05 bride.. 2007? it may not be out yet.. call amara lah.. but u may use 06's one as a guide and add maybe $20 per table cos thats the average price increase for hotels..

Can u all share what are the things u all negotiated with Amara? Realise their wavier of corkage for wines isnt alot. If we were to buy wine straight fr them, will there be corkage?

their perks is 'what u see is what you get' already. for the location and the place and the food quality, its considered very cheap... normally wine from the hotel is 'waived of corkage'... but their wine is like at least $30 for a normal range and you can get it like 1/2 the price from parkers, where i got mine...

any recommendation for printers? how long will the printing take & the costs incurred? pls advise.

i used axxa... decent price.. the actual printing process was only 2 - 3 days and the whole process from giving them the pictures etc was only 1 week plus.. they are very fast.. i just gave them my amara card sample size and they did the inserts for me....u can call mary at 6282 9269...

Went down to Amara with bf today. We just popped in and sneaked around haha. but i was rather impressed that a ... (waiter?) saw us and just brought us around to show us the place. very nice of him

Like the place a lot. So tempted to stop our search coz it's one of the first place we've been to! hee
But think still got to look around. Their package for Sat is quite high-end for us.

I went to Amara Hotel today for viewing, the person who served me was Patricia too.. I had the same bad experience as welll.. she was so unprofessional, i was so turned off by her attitude. This is the one & only hotel that gives me this type of services. I dont know if she had a bad day cos she didnt even bother about introducing the place to me and spoke less than 20 words. Worse, she uses a very authorative tone when she speaks to us.. it's a pity cos i really like that place.. my bf too, feel that it is not worth paying for such services...any idea if there is someone eles who can serve me? thanks a lot!!

Hi Minssy and Daisy,

Then count urself lucky then. Cos there is experience that the couple found some sharp object in the sharksfins. Then as usual the hotel will compensate my giving F & B vourcher or hotel stay complimentary.

This is not unprofessional just that when you r their staff you just know what really goin on.

Anyway just an advice so that it wont spoil others wedding in the future....
