Advice on overseas PS and bridal package

You can check out this link on the comments by those taiwanese couples who took up RL's package. Unfortunately its in Chinese. Seems like most ppl will get Celine unless she's not available. The other choices are Mango and Kiwi who are not too bad also. You can read up the comments on the website.

Hi Pen Pen, think they seem to be appointing Ah Kuang for most couples. The sales lady I talked to mentioned that Ah Kuang and Kiwi are not bad too besides Celine. Maybe you can consider looking at their portfolios first before deciding.

Seems like unless your package states that you can appt the photographer that you want if not most probably they will assign the person to u unless u top up additional $$. So far most of photos taken are pretty good so i think their photographers are of reasonable standard.

I am choosing Mango as 1st choice and Kiwi as 2nd choice.

My package states that I can choose my own PG, so I do not have to pay extra.

But I really like Celine's work....

Hi leemc, i also went to julia to take alook as i heard about how cheap their packages were as compared to the past. But i did notice something which i need to confirm. Apparantly the company that's doing the photoshoot is actually another taiwanese company, not sure if the gowns are provided by that company or by taiwan julia. All i know is that if u take the local AD package as well, that is actually provided by Julia Wedding News

hi Pen Pen, yes my package allows me to chose the photographer with no additional charges. I would be going in Feb. How many poses your package has?

Besides those standard giveaways, i get to appoint photographer and seamless album. As for additional softcopies, i was told they will give some for free if i purchase some.. Not sure about the price.
Didnt managed to get air tix thrown in. Was abit concerned about the additional charges like rental of car &amp; MUA... But more assured after reading all these. I dont think i will be bring the MUA along.

Have asked RL abt the car rental,will cost abt s$200 for the whole day bah...

ChingHua is quite good as well www.chinghua.com their photography skill is supposed to be one of the top in taipei.
Ivy Bride which i first spoke at the recent suntec wedding show is actually not bad too. their package was very good $2288 for 50 photos plus alot of freebies. just that managed to get psychoed by RL ppl to take theirs if not i might have taken Ivy.
CH wedding www.c-hwedding.com opened by a taiwan celeb jia yong jie and another well known designer is another good one. But theirs is on the high side the packages are like 4-5k.

We've not decide on the date in May. Likely 2nd or 3rd week before the school holiday. ELse air tix may have surcharges. Will probably email RL next month to confirm date &amp; photographer.

I had my PS in taiwan with True Love (http://www.truelove.com.tw/smh/) last Nov. They have a special package for overseas couple, can refer to the website for details. Pretty good experience with them so far. Especially pleased that they are still as accomodative (finally decided i wasnt too happy with my choice of poses to go into the album and asked them to have it changed, twice) even though i have already fully paid up.

Dear BTB, i think one of the most important thing tt you have to consider is the number pictures you are getting after the photoshoot, usually chosing of the photos is the killer. there are too many pretty pictures to chose from, end up chosing more than it is included in the package so your package price would be very expensive after adding the additional photos

I think my deal was not so good. I didn't bargain much too, coz I was pretty clueless at that time.

Actually their sales tactic is pretty good. They told me they would want me to be their "advertisement-client", but after reading this forum... seems like the perks they gave me were not good enough.

But I am still looking forward to my photoshoot!
Must try to control and not over spend by selecting too much photos!

i hope i would enjoy the photoshoot trip too.

usually 8 out of 10 of my frens tell mi the same thing, they wun chose too many photos, in the end they still do because the photos are really too pretty.

I notice that your partner seem quite tall. How tall is him? my HTB is very tall (1.9m) and I am worried that RL will have difficulty finding suitable outfit for him.

It's not that my hubby is tall, its me who is short... haha
He is 1.8m, and I am only 1.5m. I thought the photographer did quite a good job not to emphasize too much on our height difference..
I am not too sure if they have sizes to fit for 1.9m, seems like the taiwanese men are not that tall....

The photo didn't seem to show the height difference. Ya, they ask me to bring my HTB to bring his own suit, for backup. But we don't have. I think I better check with them again.

I had 48 pics in my package, then I topped up extra 7 pics, total 55 pics. The tough part is really the pic selection part, because lots of pics are really nice and so difficult to choose.

We had taken 500+ pic in total, can u imagine we have to shortlist to 55pics? How headache was that....We are very discipline and agreed not to take on too many extra pics even though there are many nice ones. Most importantly for us is that we enjoyed the phootshoot process, a unique experience for us...
 
wow, that's alot of pics to choose from! Must be discipline.. else will end up buying alot, and exceed budget. hee..

hi all, if u r interested in Julia Wedding News, you can consider signing up this weekend at Vivocity (12-15 Feb) at the bridal fair. It is definitely much cheaper than signing at the shop itself. Compared to my package, it could even be almost 1k cheaper and getting almost the same things.
