Advice on overseas PS and bridal package


hi all, we had our photoshoot yday... it was so cold and i'm glad it was over... ;p

for those who are intending to take cherry blossoms and lavender, just to share not to set your expectation too high... we went to datun flower farm and did not see any cherry blossoms already... lavender was disappointing too... there were still other beautiful flowers around though...

our photographer was ah hong and assistant a 15 year old boy called ah kuan... the two of them really made the whole process fun... they were very friendly and helpful too...

our mua was jiaqi... we were very satisfied with her, except one of the styles my hubby had which he didn't really like... she had her ideas on what styles to give us... and when we had some preference, she didn't say no and was able to do it for us... really glad that we brought her out...

for the men, the suit provided were very simply... shirt, bow tie, jacket (normal or tuxedo style) and pant... black, white or grey... choose 2... you could add in a vest at around NT 2000 each...

additional cost you need to prepare are... car rental of around nt 500 per hour (we had 9 hours), ampoule (2 bottles) around nt 1000, admission fee to flower farms depending on where you go (we paid nt 300 for calla lily farm and nt 800 for datun flower farm)...

p/s: remember to bring hair conditioner and makeup remover... apparently youchun hotel doesn't seem to provide conditioner...

I am having PS in Taiwan in 02 May. I have 3 ppl to tag along. Photographer, MUA, Assistant...

I was told don't need to use ampoule as MUA tag along she will do the job...

Ya, my car rent about 2000NT to 2500NT.

i brought my own ampoule but in the end still used MUA's cos she said mine was not wet enough, even though she went out with us... in the end the ampoule i brought was used on my body and for hubby...

the whole journey was very fun, but too cold to the extend at some point, i wished it was over... imagine wearing the gown and standing in the open field up the mountain at 6 degrees with strong wind blowing now and then... i still couldn't believe i survived the whole process! haha... the passer bys, all wrapped in thick jackets, were saying "ai sui hm gia lao pi zui" (want to look pretty not scare cold)... ;p

the photographer had adviced us not to choose heavy gowns with long trails for outdoor... still, all my outdoor gowns were very dirty at the end of each location...

temperature should be much better in may... just hope it doesn't rain.. so its better to plan such that you have the next day to retake if it rains...

Urs package very expensive .I never use ampoule and the MUA is free of charge , My car rental is NT3000 fixed for the whole day 8am-9pm.
I also got photogarpher , assistant + MUA.
I have my PS in Feb 2009, just as cold as urs haha but is fun.

Hi,

I am confused. When they indicate that you will have Make-up and hairdo design for 3 times, what does that mean? Does that mean that a MUA is assigned to bring along? If not, who will be helping with the make-up and hairdo design?

And what does seamless album means? If it didn't mention, how will the album looks like?

apparently they said the assistant will help to touch up your makeup... and hairdo will only be simply removing pins to let your hair down or adding/removing accessories... i also feel kinda "cheated" by so called Make-up and hairdo design for 3 times.. but wat to do, already signed...

hehe... too late already signed and paid... when did u have ur photoshoot?

when i went to choose photos, there was a couple who chose only 24 photos in the first round. i wonder who their photographer was, if they were dissatisfied.

another couple after them chose 120 photos!

we actually din mind topping up for more photos, but no one tried to hard sell to us.. haha... wonder if they will be willing to sell us just the raw photos now.

i probably will choose to go datun flower farm and then the beaches.. not very flower person. hee

how many pics u end up choosing? my package only comes with 35.. not sure if sufficient to fill up the album.

I went in mid Feb.. When i was there, a couple paid 4K just to top up the photos! Maybe you should try asking if they can sell you the raw photos because to them its additional income..

i suppose the highlights of datun flower farm are the piano, wind mill and flowers... from there we only chose one photo of piano and 2 of wind mill, the rest are flowers... so if you're not into flowers, you may want to consider other routes...

originally we wanted to go to the farm with sheep and the iris lake.. but because of lavender and cherry blossoms, we gave up that route.. in the end, we also din get lavender and cherry blossoms... :|

luckily calla lilies made up for it... ;p

we chose 42 pics... samantha told us it was not enough to do design, thus one photo per page... but we insisted that our package includes design...

later we thought about it what she said made sense also... cos we did not take repeated photos... all photos chosen were of different flavor... therefore, it won't be so nice also to put them in the same page...

so we specially said that we only want the most 3 photos in a page so that our album would have ideally 15 - 18 pages.

we wanted to get another 6 - 8 pics (or even more) actually... but they were only willing to give 5% discount if we take another at least 20 pics.. so we din...

yes, we thought so too... 95% of the work were already done... convince us to sign their package, do all the arrangements, alter and wash gowns, make up, take photos... what's left is only to get us to choose more photos...

as i mentioned earlier, my hubby2b and i were more than willing to pay for more photos, if only they tried the least to persuade us, when we actually asked about the topup ourselves...

we guess it is the sales ppl at the bridal show who have numbers to meet. those ppl in the shop just need to coordinate and do the fulfilment. they don't need to help company earn more... ;p

Who is yr MUA? Grace and Eclipse you both hv e same photographer but the 'feng ke' is so difff. (althou i only see 1 pic from Grace) hehee.. coz Eclipse yr hv e smokely blur blur feel........ how old is ah hong? why i nv heard abt him till recently. is he new? hehee.. maybe i will choose ah hong!
 
ah hong is 27 this year.. quite young... i had 4 outfits.. actually all turned out very different... one very "dao" and mature look in the forest... 2 very sweet look in the flowers field... the last very classic look in the studio... ;p

eclipse can share your photos with me? [email protected] as my hubby2b is not comfortable with sharing his photos, i can only share my solitary one with you... ;p

erm i think ah hong got mood swings thru-out the day. He was real grumpy at night. Maybe he's tired.. Ditto.. He spent like 30 mins in the studio shifting things and getting the lighting really.. I almost fell asleep.. Zzzzzzzz

Oh, and sam didnt persuade me to buy more too. I bought more because i wanted the foc upgrade to seamless :p there isnt on my package..

I topped up 20 from my 30 photos.. so in total i have 50.. They gave me foc seamless for topping up additional photos.

U chose quite afew from the indoor studio. The pics are nice even though it's inside the studio

I chose a few from the studios bcoz most are overexposed..

you can see from the few i had, some are so bright that the gown is all white (cant see the detail at all)..

The flower farm is the tomita farm in taoyuan.. There are few diff types of flowers there.. because of the season, some are not in bloom (e.g. sunflower looks dead in Feb).. The lake is there too..
 
oh dear, all shoots are digitally taken ya? how come will overexposed? That's very sad leh. Did they compensate for that? But luckily the indoor shoots are nice.
 
They did promised some compensation.. im still waiting for it..

but i was indeed pretty upset at first coz studio photos are more impt than outdoor ones..

dun really like Samantha.. i feel tt she is not genuine and only fu-yan u when she try to discuss anything with her.. very bo-chap and hardly reply my many emails to her.

my coordinator was actually samantha.. but on the day i choose the photos she was not around so Wujie served me.. which turned out really great!
