Advice on overseas PS and bridal package

Hi Lily, it is alright, I am also very fussy. On the day we selected the photos, we also chose and design the layout ourselves. We like it simple and straightforward just like magazine. We marked down which photo goes to which page and draw the layout for them to follow. I changed more than 2 times till they gently reminded me and also send me a list of charges if I change any further. Anyway I explained that some of the changes was not change so I reminded them again and shouldn’t take it one time change. They are flexible, just need to be clear and explained to them. It would be good if you can take time to go through carefully and let them know what you like so that they can do most of the update in one go and some minor changes or touch up the second time if you need. Overall the service is good, just need to be firm and explained to them. I checked with some of friends who have done their album in Singapore, they didn’t get any chance to edit their album, I consider ourselves very lucky ; )
Hi Pen Pen, the transportation cost is reflected in the contact you signed with RL depend on what was been negotiated. They accepted credit card payment and cash, fyi, the exchange rate they use is quite high so not sure if you would like to bring more cash to pay if you got better exchange rate.
The standard suit provided for the guys are quite basic (you can take a look at the link provided earlier to see the design). As advised by lily earlier, you might like to consider to tailor 1 suit which you can also use for the AD and get to keep to make it more worthwhile. Consider a few options and decide what works best for you.

i also got go Suntec Fair and see, there few bridal shop from taiwan,their sales tactics really good, but dun dare to sign it, must check it clear first, some bridal shop MUA will no follow us to outdoor, if their follow will additional charges and transport also. Must really ask it clear lol, even the express fee also must ask, if after receive the album any damage was the bridal shop will reposibility. Of course got a MUA follow is better, they will help us touch up the makeup and hair... . i also got go to ask "my dream wedding" bridal shop, price is 2888 / shooting in hong kong (no include air ticket and hotel)actually feel no bad, but i hear their sales tactics(i still can remember her hair very red)saying customer bad thing, after customer asking the package , just leave only she start saying the customer, i feel that they service very bad lol, customer asking for the package never sign it, also no need to say customer like that. i also same with the customer , like to ask alot then go back think carefully only make decision.of course we wish to make a right choice, will never regret what we have sign.

It's ok not to have the MUA to follow around, they have a photographer assistant (who has been trained by MUA) to do simple touch up & hairdo. So u still can change different hairstyles during your outdoor shoot.
For mine case, the assistant was a young chap, I was thinking to myself "alamak, it's better i do my own touch-up", but surprisingly, he turned out to be ok. They must have done it many times with many couples, so i guess pretty well-trained liao.
But up to individual lah, i didn't want to spend another sum of $$ for the MUA to follow...

Yes, sometimes they forgot about the changes which I had marked and I hv to remind them again. I am asking for changes for the 2nd time, I hope it turns out well this round....
I asked them if they hv similar "communication" problems with other couples, they say no wor...
Now at least I am relieved u also made a few rounds of changes, I really thought I was too fussy & demanding...
But I really found it hard to communicate with them especially in Chinese with all the Chinese terms they use for the photo layout...so glad we are almost done with this.

my MUA follows for free.. mmmm.. since the assistant can do a good job, perhaps i'll change that for something else.. hehee.. anyway i have not received the email from them..
maybe my package is too cheapo that im last in the line to choose a date! ahh.. next time better not bargain so much

what's the payment schedule like? do we need to pay everything after the PS in taiwan or can we delay payment till we receive the album? can we still bargain for more foc stuffs when in taiwan? do you have any photographer or MUA to recommend?

Hi Winterlover, the AD with Sophia only with WG, EG, Kua and Suit. They didn't say FOC, just say they will work out something for us depending on out needs. We know Sophia is on the high end side, so the rental price was quite reasonable so we didn't bargain for anything for that. They called to remind me to contact them again when I have my wedding date.

Does anyone know the difference between non-seamless album and seamless album (with editorial design)? was thinking whether the difference will be great cos my package with RL doesnt include seamless album..
anyway we were offered the free air ticket too, but apparently it does not include both fuel surcharge and taxes.. tried emailing them to ask for the $400 rebate, but they were only willing to rebate $200, reason being that jetstar may have promo prices in the next few months =(

Hi Chu Fang, No i didnt sign up at the fair. I took the 3288 package too. But after discount i only paid 2688. I told them I do not need to free air tix and hotel and they gave me 600 off immediately. How much did you pay for yours? Ah, I was supposed to go Apr too. But someone cancelled on Mar so I got the Mar date
RachelL, I paid 3288 for my package during the fair itself. After that we did not want the free Jetstar ticket and requested them for rebate, but they were only willing to give us $200 off.
Anyway, did they offer you the seamless album foc? I only realised after that I forgot to ask for that during the fair, abit worried now that have to pay lots of extra charges for additional stuff haha..
March is a good month to go, can go YMS for the sakura shots =)

if i am not wrong, seamless album means you won't see the line between the 2 pages side by side, esp when you have a photo that spans across 2 pages.

I didnt do anything hehe. After they introduced me the package, i only commented that it is expensive and i have no use of the tix and hotel discount. They immediately took $600 off. In TW their package for locals is in low $2000 range anyway, so I guess mine is not that cheap afterall.

If you are considering overseas photoshooting bridal package, Julia wedding news are arranging for photoshoot at Greece in May 09 and Hokkaido in June 09 and also to places like spain, perth new zealand, italy, taiwan, macau, etc.. Do check out with them. Their gowns are very princessy and very good make-up artist and photographer which is very important.
