haha, so pls determine the right place for dinner hor....

g gal..agree, gotta cut down on spending if wan buy a car..me also wanna cut down, but somehow like not easy also..sian
 
Salsa, can la.. if I have dinner at Cartel I'll save up on lunch lor :P Now budgeting $10 per day for lunch + dinner. $10 can eat salad liao... Like that can save money and slim down at the same time.. hahaha..
 
G~gal....supermarket sells those pre-packed salad....think I saw it @ Cold Storage...costs ard $3, I think.

Sometimes I will prepare pasta salad to offc. Prepare a big portion at night, so sis and I can bring some for lunch....and save 1 portion for mum's lunch....
 
Salsa, I used to do that too... but thinking of lugging salad for over 1 hr to work... sian leh.

Milo, I can't bowl for nuts.. tried it before and the Malay dudes in the next lane laughed at me for throwing the balls into the longkang.. :P And I feel so inadequate when I go bowling w my hb cos he used to be his school's bowling team captain. Oh but I'm a champ at desktop bowling on Yahoo! Games.. hehehe
 
i have this idea that if we can find enough bowlers from this forum, we can form a team and participate in a league. We can call our team PORN. Imagine having our team T-shirt having our nicks instead of name on the shirt.

The thing abt bowling, its practise and getting the right knowledge. The 1st time I bowl, fell right down on my bum. God, it hurts and quite embarrassing!
 
Bowling is fun!! but it is literally throwing money down the lonkang in my case.

well, golf is more exp then bowling.

I'm also learning as a bowler lah. Picked up the sport since 21. Started playing hook ball when I saw Remy Ong bowl more than 11 yrs ago. Was damn impressed with his ball reaction. He was already very good then.

Pool is fun. But to play in league, will be too pi seh. Its more of an individual sport. While bowling, we flop & luff at each together, so, its okie. keekee.
 
Ok onz... S&M Bowling Team.. what's the training schedule?? Milo, you be our captain huh since you suggested this.

Golf... I intend to pick it up next time as a networking tool. For now, no time to learn... need to pick up driving 1st.
 
Havent been bowling for a long time liao > 10 years?

Hopefully my ball is still useable. Let me know if you guys/gals are bowling.
 
Actually, it isn't that exp.

The place I bowl, I'm charged at member's rate which is lower than the public rate.

If there is enuff interest in the sport, maybe we can organise something.

Milo, where do you bowl? The thing I dun like most abt bowling is having to rent the stinky shoes... unless buy my own, but not worth it since I dun bowl regularly.
 
Pick up water sports leh. Wakeboard? Windsurfing? Throwing body bags out at sea?

I dun mind bowling but for fun lah. League team some more. Very paiseh one leh. I oso long gang queen.

Psst... I know why ah siao likes pool. He look for gals in short short miniskirts bending over the pool table with deep deep cleavage.
 
Hey simpleman, you wanna sell your clubs? ;) Actually I also dunno what to look for in buying all these equipment. Just can't afford expensive ones.

Dun ask me to play pool... my aim with the stick is not so good. How about Carom?? Favourite JC past time...

the pricing hasn't changed much. For member rates, $1.50 during off-peak & $2.50 in the night. $2.80 during weekends and public holidays.

Public rates are diff. around $2.80 off peak and $4.20 normal pricing.

G-gal, I must have spent thousands on my stuffs for bowling. 4 pairs of shoes. The cheapest being $120. The newest I got is from states. Bought it online at $200. Its retailing at $280 in pro shops in sg. I gave away most of my old equipment. And 1 of the ball cracked into 2.

I used to bowl around to become a vasitile bowler. Ever since I know my wife, priorities changed. Only bowl at 1 or 2 alleys with my old bowling friends now.

Pool is harder to learn, I feel. Not easy to control the push of the stick.
 
Wow Milo... looks like you're serious about bowling...Dun think hb and me ever spent so much on a hobby before, unless you count getting a 21" Sony monitor and customised pc for gaming ;) But that's for work too...

I am not so much into bowling like you. Just really recreational. I have had 3 balls. Lost one ball in the alley so I have 2 balls now. They are quite old already so may not spin as well.

Shoes yes. Got two pair. One pair worn off and the other pair, well > 13 years liao but should still look good if I clean it.
 
I think Laundry is into anything that is death-defying.. haha... like skydiving, skiing... extreme sports stuff.

One day when I can drive, I'd like to try a rally... make my Daytona dream a reality ;)
 
Ya i heard that Victor's gonna be closed? Then how to bowl there? Actually I dun really like most of the venues... the environment seems to attract certain type of pple... like game arcades.

yah, so sad. All the places I used to bowl all closing down.

Katong Jackies also gone already.

My 'homeground' was Safra Resort Bowl at Tenah Merah. It was managed by Cathay then. Now, the lanes sucks as the resort tried to operate it themselves.
