Ceci, ya agree the service fee is a bit high, some more got 7% tax and she is basing her conversion on USD1 to SGD1.6 :P Actually should base on SGD1.53 as per current rate.
 
if anyone is gonna score the winner, i'm glad it's Henry, it's Arsenal and at Emirates... i like Henry for wat he is - a good goalscorer. we were in trouble in the last 20mins and couldn't hold up the pressure so i think it's a fair result..

G-gal, a few outlets having good sales in the US rite now, Coach is almost upto 40% discount... personally, i feel shopping is a very personal thing, especially if u wanna spend good money on branded stuff... u wanna see it, feel it, scrutinize it and really feel tat it's 'the right one' before u purchase... hmm, abit like trying to find a bfren in 1 day, keke. u'll have your chance... my suggestion is to keep a lookout for good deals to the usa, and hit on the shopping malls there for next 3yrs' wardrobe and accessories... it's definitely worth it. becos just buying 3 bags will cover u the airfare, if u buy around 10 u can cover yourself and hubby! something u shuld consider in the near future?

the exchange rate in the USA now is 1.58 on credit card charge... locally it's 1.55 (i just changed for my wife last week), incidentally she's there rite now, tat's why Fri nite i couldn't join u guys cos she flew there the next day.

Well powder, lucky for your wife then. I dun foresee myself heading to US in the near future :P True that we like to see and touch the goods before we buy, esp if it's an expensive item, but since I can't be there, it's useful to have someone help me get things. But for now, I am saving my money for other stuff lah.

PS: Will your wife be in US again in June?? ;)
 
ya in fact i was hoping for a win... but watching the game, i think an Arsenal win may be tough to swallow yet i must admit their efforts against our efforts in the final 20mins is worthy of a win. and being Man U where at one point of time, we win won games mostly in the last 20mins... it's kinda poetic how it happened.

i asked my fren to bet 4-2 for me, keke... would have made me 5k richer if tat happened!

ah siao, my loan was $21K lah. I took a 5 yr loan and just made a final lump sum payment today. Yup, now gotta save more money cos hb still has about 3+ yrs' worth of study loan to repay (in pounds!).
 
no lah, my wife won't be there again... she's going there on one-off biz trip. US is a nice place for shopping, i'm a real shopaholic and i can really appreciate a day at the malls... the best thing about it is the Return Policies. ie last week she bought 2 bags at a 20% discount which is already Much Much cheaper than spore... but yday she saw tat those bags are 40% off now... so actually when she wakes up later, she'll be returning the bags she bought and re-buying them on the spot at 40% discount... total savings around usd $250... hehe, her colleagues there say die die must do tat, so she just go with the flow... u know lah we locals sometimes just dun dare to do such things...

well, airfares there are not tat expensive and it's kinda seasonal... i have frens who love going there and once awhile they send me some really good deals. personally i hate the long hours to get there... but once there, everything forgotten and u can't wait to hit the shops! keke

powder.. yup US returns policies is so much better... you can actually buy coach and return them if you dun like it... in singapore, i just bot a tag heur and had to send it back to fix it and they say its mechanism fault... and said only if it happens again then they will write in the request a one to one exchange.. so pissed. buy 3K for such service?
 
Ceci, according to the Asia1 currency converter, it's 1.53. But for credit card, add a bit more lah. Actually I prefer to use credit card overseas cos more convenient and safer than bringing lotsa cash. The additional fee is quite negligible.
 
can get the difference thru the rewards anyway... or use taka card change for voucher lor...

tat sounds really crap, unfortunately there's no exchange policies on most of these watches, they prob have to open it up liao... but not to worry the servicing is all very professional. have seen similar occurances and have not seen a 1-1 exchange policy ever, so no shortchange your end... the power reserve shuld last around 1.75 days
 
ya lor.. my quartz one still working good since day one... although the crystal scratched a bit.. i winder what i did to scratch it.. suppose to be scratch proof..
 
Ceci, same as my B&M... I dunno whether want to replace the crystal or not since the scratch is quite small. And up till now haven't go and repair my Omega also :P Miss wearing it... But that wld suck up $700 to repair :P

yeah, it's not tat expensive... the larger version cost u 2 Tags, the smaller one shuld be slightly lesser... the problem with the watch is the waiting for stocks...

got such loan meh? F&F n appliances loan...

i learnt to clear my credit card bills every month and make sure no outstanding... i have only 2 cards. makes things easier... realise that the more cards you have the more you spend
 
cecilia, have this kinda loan lar...u can go those best denki or harvy norman etc to buy big tic items n pay by installments lor..its like loan mah...

ya, dun ever ever have outstanding loans, its going to kill u.....well u can have as much cards, main issue here is know how to curb spending lar...

err..no heard evo got semi auto gear apart from the station wagon model...only the WRX had it
 
i never into sports cars haha! only know abt cars when cols and friends talk abt it...

i hate those stuff that uses 0% instalments... it just incur on your monthly bill

Yup, the more cc the more u spend... it's quite easy to think you have more money than you actually have.

Personally I think it's ok to use the 0% installment. Cos I used to use that too. Not everyone is so rich as to be able to afford things straight away, but they are necessities for my home. Still it takes discipline to avoid overspending cos you think you have a lot of cash leftover after paying the mthly installments.
