Incoming kaypoh... The Departed is the Infernal Affairs equivalent with angmoh actors. Prestige is all about Hugh Jackman! What's the plot again? Ahahah...
powder, the Kevin Costner one is still showing in the cinemas leh... I better.. my last movie was a disjointed spoof about hostile aliens, the boy from the Grudge and a psycho in an ugly mask pretending to be Jigsaw and I watched on hb's pc monitor!! Haven't been to the movies since...can't remember when and I don't even have a baby yet...

Dumb movie beats absolutely no plot. Try Miami Vice. Wah... lau... eh... 1st time I wanted to walk out of a movie. Ended up cursing and swearing through the entire 2 hrs. Came out and all of us were still totally blur about the plot.
I just realised how many movies I've been watching recently. Wah. Spent more time in the dark than anything.

The last movie you made portrayed you as a gay leader of the world, other young stars are overtaking you, then suddenly one movie-maker comes to you with a script saying, 'hey let's remake Miami Vice, be the new Don Johnson and to top it off, you get to make out in really steamy scenes with some Chinese actress, and Asia will get a good look at you too!'

Luckily I had free tixs to Miami Vice. Else will be banging at the counter, demanding a refund. The scary thing about the movie is that Gong Li's Spanish was better than her English...
Heard that The Banquet is supposed to be the chinese remake of Hamlet. Wah. Faint. No wonder the theatre setup in the movie looks suspiciously like a Shakespearean stage. Movie world getting creepy.

Hi La-Kopi, I'm into slapstick too (I dunno why it only happened after I met my hb! ) but there are slapstick, and there are "slapstick". The latter is as offensive as the idea of Nicolas Cage being Superman. Thank god he didn't!!! Good slapstick is like Kunfu Hustler, Fun with Dick and Jane.. there's as much story/plot as there is action.
Laundry woes, I didn't watch Miami Vice. Just pray they aren't going to remake every 70s/80s tv series into a movie like Starsky & Hutch (Snoop Dog was pretty funny though) ... what next? Knight Rider? Magnum PI?? Mac Gyver??

Last time I went was 4-5 years back. Once in a while go, breathe some mountain air, drink the hot chocolate from the new Starbucks there also dam shiok. 7 ppl go, everytime got winner then lunch/dinner free. Eat good good, drink good good, live good good...aahhh the life...
Ok lah hotel room crap. But who go Genting stay in hotel room one?

Yes, to help the poor & old contribute to the PAP govt, the GST will be increased to 7%. As the old don't pay income tax, they have no chance to show their appreciation to the PAP govt, this GST increase will help them to contribute something. As an inclusive society, they now don't have to feel left behind because they contribute less tax, they will catch up soon.

See how the PAP helps the poor & old in our society. Other countries use progressive taxation to make the rich pay more tax and use it to help the poor. In Singapore where the poor find it hard to make ends meet, they need to spend all their income without saving. Hence when the GST is increased, the tax burden for the poor increases....life for them becomes more challenging....see how the PAP improve the lives of the poor by giving them more challenges.

The purpose of the 2% increase in GST is to help the poor and NOT to cut the income tax of the rich and reduce corporate tax. It is REALLY to HELP the poor ...and NOT what Steve Chia predicted in 2002:
"Looking at the trend, I am quite certain that there are going to be more cuts in the personal income and corporate tax rates in the future.
To make up for this revenue loss, it is certain that the Government is going to raise GST even higher.
So before this GST is increased to 5%, 7%, 9% or even higher in future,
I hope the Government can plan ahead and institute a system to exempt certain essential staple items from GST.
Do not wait until there is great social discontent to do it. "

See Steve Chia was always misreading the intent of our caring govt. The purpose of GST increases is to help the poor and not the rich. The PAP govt is always trying to close the income gap and not to exacerbate it. Singaporeans are so lucky to have such a good government!

sometimes i feel we're like a Scrooge overly focused on savings... making sure every month got 2k go into savings, when the accumulated savings over the years has already reached 1mil. life revolves around saving saving saving until u spend your life just saving... so tat one day we can enjoy the fruits of our labour... if at 50yrs old, we can't start enjoying these fruits, then something is very wrong.
our Reserves are strong, we have 'Top Scholars', yet our only way of solution is to take from the population. i always thought by employing the top pple, we shuld be seeing decreases in cost of living and not increases. i grew up believing the pple shuld enjoy subsidies and some form of fair welfare... but we see Company interests ahead of ours, very much Profit-driven. that's fine, but if u wanna be profit-driven, then introduce competition... at least to allow market forces to regulate the prices. to Already monopolise and increase prices is manipulative, we get neither Alternatives nor Choice (i need to use electricity!).
anyway, wat's being said will always happen, it always has... we just have to find ways to beat the system - make more money.
