Mind sharing roughly how their packages are priced? Do they also Price by tiers?

i got the $2888 package - one AD gown rental & 26 credits haha

i'll use the credits for PW gown rentals and also AD hair & makeup etc. the PW gown rental is 6 credits per gown!

Hi All,

Do you guys think it will be wiser to rent gowns or just buy from Taobao?
Apparently, a friend of mine who has a friend that bought 2 gowns from Taobao and altered it in SG which summed up to be around SGD500 in total.

Am a March 2018 BTB but hasn't decided on any single thing yet.

Hi everyone!

I'm a Feb 2018 BTB. I've only got my venue and bridal confirmed and currently finalizing AD PG & VG.

Has anyone hire MUA already?
How many MUAs would we need for 2 mums and 2 sister?

Also, my bridal package includes AD MUA. Do you think it's okay if I source for an external one and ask the bridal shop MUA to do for my mums instead?

Thanks

Hi everyone!

Hi Juliett!

Im a March'18 BTB as well. Personally i feel its more practical to rent than owning the gown. You get to save your wardrobe space and headache if you decide to sell it in the future!

Anyone signed up with mandarin orchard for banquet ?

Hi BabyPiya,

When are you getting married? Im considering to hold it in Mandarin Orchard as well but was told they will be hosting the wedding show on 22nd April, which they generally offers more perks / more flexibility in their package than usual.

thanks for helping to reply littlepink!
Miaiken, if your $2500 excludes photography it's definitely possible!
But if including photography I not so sure. I ala carte my photog elsewhere hence only looking for gown rental + Hair Make up etc.

You can just drop them an email/call.
The lady boss is very sweet and nice. I will be heading there again for my second time next Saturday :) If your appointment is then maybe we'll see each other haha!

Thanks tinkerella & littlepinkpointes for the infor.

Hi dear fellow brides,

For those who're taking pre-wed or actual day soon I have extra silk ampoules for sale which you can save quite a bit if you were to pay the MUA as they charge at a price of $25 per vial. In total usually you need 4 or 5 vials which is $100 or $125 in total if you were to get from the MUA.

I have extra ampoules which expires 2020.
5 vials is $25 and 10 vials is $45.

And also I do have alot of post wedding deco items for rent at really good prices.

If keen can email me at
[email protected]

Actually, what are these ampoules for?

How come all the MUA have this additional item to purchase and it seems like everyone usually buys this?

I didn't know one time use 4-5 vials.. wow.....

Hello btb! I'm having my solemnization on dec'17 & AD in Jan'18. So far, only managed to book the banquet and still looking for a bridal studio. Its so stressful to find one! Can i ask you guys is it normal for the coordinator to select a few n ask us to try? Instead of us looking through their selection n choose ourselves? So far only went to 1 studio and its was pretty fast, got in n was served by a lady n she just went ahead to choose 3 gowns (2 that I've mentioned the colour i want) & straight to change already. Hmmm i din even managed to view the other gowns design. I can only imagine there might be time limit during gown selection day.

Did you tell them it was your first time? If you did then maybe they took some for you to try and get a feel of it. Go visit more studio.

I visited 4 studios. 2 of them allowed me to browse their gowns and choose on my own the ones I want to try. The other 2 chose the gowns based on the preference I told them, and out of this 2, one of them was very very professional. She took out 7 gowns for me to try and I like most of them

I didn't visit any of the bridals along tanjong pagar cuz I didn't want to go through the horror of being hard sell and being "cheated" from the hidden costs.

I went to gown warehouse, bridal affairs, bqueens, Kelly's bridals. I have initially planned for bespoke cuz of my height but most likely I'm going to take a package with Kelly's

Hello! Yepp i did told them. But she seemed to be in a rush and asking chose 3 evening dresses, 2 which the colour i told her I'm looking at and another which she selected although i told her I'm not looking at light colours. after trying then she realized i really dont suit what she have chosen. Wow didnt know the studios will let you choose n try so many gowns! Thought its a standard practice they will choose 2 or 3 and asked us to try first. Until the gown selection day then we're able to really browse through all their selection. Thanks for the info babe!

It depends on when u made an appointment to make ur first visit.
I went to the boutiques during weekdays afternoon and I was lucky cause the stores are mostly empty, hence I was able I spend more time talking to the consultants and trying on 3-4 gowns (I even got to try on 5 cause the consultant were so enthusiastic talking about their dresses. But they weren't pushy).
If u go during their busy times likes weekends, they might 'rush' through the service with u.
Some boutiques and their consultants are nice enough to let u try more than 3. But 3 is usually enough for them (and u) to see which designs and colours suit u.
They won't let u try a lot cause they also know u might still be going elsewhere to eye shop first.
Only until u confirm and signed with them, that's where u would spend hours choosing ur gowns for pre wed and/or AD
:)

Ahhhh
What style are u looking for? Or rather what designs would u prefer?
Ballgown? A line? Mermaid?
Satin? Tulle? Lace? Organza?

I narrowed down what I liked and tell the consultants my preference. From there, I'll see if they can provide me what I like to try on.
Keep your options open. I initially didn't like mermaid cut and wanted the A line or ballgown.... in the end, I picked a mermaid full lace for my AD hahaha.

Yepp i wanted lace mermaid but opened to trying others. Probably because I'm not looking for a white gown, looking for black, nude or blue gown with lace so a lil difficult to find a nice one. Lol because i have a white gown alr (htb bought it sometime back ) so no point getting another. Haha

Thanks Jessie! Same to you as well

Are you looking at just one external MUA for mums and sisters? Would you know if MUA usually charged by the hours or how many pax they have to handle? Im totally clueless as I haven't done any research on MUA yet.

Hi Blueflorals, yea im only looking at 1 external MUA for mums only. Your "sisters" referring to blood sisters or sisters for gatecrash only? Well cos if its blood sisters, then i would also engage professionals for them la. But if its sisters for the gatecrash then i dont think its necessary. Well, MUA usually go by per head, you only have to inform them how many pax will be doing, they will arrange assistants themselves.

Haha the gown htb bought some time back is from fleur dsign! Such coincidence! It wasn't planned though as i went to gown fitting with my best friend n as he was there too, he asked me to try on too. Who knows he ended buying even b4 he proposed.

So pretty! The intricate lace top!
My dress is still with them cause I can still have the option of choosing new designs over the few months until the AD. But I love the one they are holding it for me though :)

Where have u went for the other dress?

Will head to a few other bridal studio to check it out. Most of them seemed to have more white gown choices instead. But I'm looking at to sign on a package excluding the white gown n AD pg & vg. When is your AD? I'm sure there will be more choices for you to choose from.
