oh i read about the 3 years one somewhere in the forum. yep hopefully htb will understand that we need to book the venue more than a year in advance. Thanks @tequila07!

You are welcome! Most importantly I feel is to get the dates, decide on a few that you like then enquire based on your budget and the venues you like. The increase in banquet prices per table from 2015 to 2016 maybe ard 5% or so? Singaporeans are typically very kiasu :p
 
My bf and I planning to have it on jan 2016. Having our pre wedding photoshoot at taiwan.
Still finding place for banquet

I guess you need to see what kind of wedding you want and the number of tables you intend to have also.. because you can like a venue and not have the tables you need..
Another thing to consider is also your budget...
 
Hi, im 2016 BTB too! at the moment still waiting for our wedding date to be confirm...most likely right after the 15th of CNY n before chinese March.

wedding band n si dian jin has settled.

Any BS suggestion n package to share? was thinking in JB side.....

Hi, we got our wedding band from Ling Jewellery, very nice! by appointment only, located at 100AM, they will be more than happy to serve you as they got more time to do. You can also self design your own wedding band too and the sales people is not very pushy kind too....give it a try! :)

Oohh!! My engagement ring is from Ling Jewellery too!! They are very nice ppl.. but I'm just wondering whether it will be too early to do wedding band since its for 2016 and it's not even 2015.. what more.. mine is towards end 2016..

its early better than late! hehehe....think they need around 4mths or so to get the ring done...my collection for wedding band should be next year between Jan-Feb...way early....hehehe

That's really early for collection of wedding bands. But like you said.. better early than late.. haha.

Anyway, for BS, it really depends what you want and your budget. There must be dresses in the studio that you like first or else no point signing a package where you don't like any dresses or they don't suit you. (Happened to my friend just because the package is cheap.)

And at the end of the day after you take the photos.. There are those additional photos where they will make you pay a lot for it. So need to buffer all these in your budget..

I think it wouldn't be too late. Just whether the currency becomes stronger or weaker. Cos the RM is quite weak against our dollar now I think.. but got to take into consideration inflation as everyone says.. haha.

oh ya! thanks for reminding on the currency too!! hehehe....just getting too excited for that! hope my wedding date can be out fast in order to get the rest of the wedding stuff prepared n confirm....if not, my mind also cannot settle down...ahaha

Who are you getting your dates from? I'm sure it's excited. I'm excited too but taking a break now since I got BS and venue settled.. most probably start the engine next year to look for photography, videography and wedding bands.

ahahaha...i just cant stop thinking about it...seems like there is lots to be done....
we went for the suan ming lady to count our wedding dates, GDL date, an chuang date all this....still waiting for her to give us a call for the dates.
your photograpy n videograpgy is not from BS?

Haha.. don't think we can afford to get the photographer and videographer from the BS.. unless they are having promo. We are keeping options from online feedback.

I have heard of those BS that provide photographer and videographer but the standard not there.. and resulted in complains here and there.. but then again.. It all boils down to budget.

huh? i thought photographer and videographer will be from the BS where they help you take pre wedding shoots, no? hmmmm

The package doesn't come with photographer and videographer. But you can ask them for the pricing and let you know the total cost to add in..

I'm not too sure how other BS work as from my understanding of my friend, her AD photographer is sourced from the BS, who acts as a middleman between the couple and the photographer company. I'm not too sure why the BS didn't offer their own photographer or my friend didn't want the photographer from the BS, which resulted in them finding another photographer.

You can go and source external and then compare price. But of course you must like the way the photos that are taken but the external photographers.. you can go and google and quite a few well - known ones come out.. or you can buy singapore brides magazine and they have recommendation though it's mostly the same photographers. :)

Sure I'll text you! My wedding's in Dec 2015. Going for my photoshoot in March. Gotta look for a photographer for my AD. I read that my BS now offers AD photography too. Gonna check it out sometime this Dec :)
 
i'm a 2016 btb too :) scheduled 15 oct 16. looking for more a small luncheon, perhaps just a rental of a function room and self catered. am asking chijmes for quote now.

The geomancer I picked was David Tong. A nice guy and very prompt in replying emails despite on reservist few months back when I need the dates urgently. He gave quite a few dates for you to choose from.

Hello! I'm also a 2016 bride. I just did my pre wedding photoshoot in Europe. Have not booked anything else yet. I'm looking at Holiday Inn Orchard for my banquet tho. Any suggestions or recommendations?

Yeah we did it earlier cos our house will be ready by next year. In view of the renovation/furnishing costs and expenses for wedding preparation, we thought It's best not to squeeze too many financial commitments at a go; )
As for my pre-wedding photoshoot, we did it w Joe Teng from Acapella Photography. Expensive Yes But I think It's worth every single cent cos my package includes photographer, make-up artiste, their airfares and accomodations and 2 days of photoshoot. It also includes 40 edited pictures w premium flushmount album from Japan. We had to hunt for our own gowns/suits and bring them w us to Europe. Haha. Overall, it was a fun experience. It beats those overrated and overpriced packages from those bridal studios in JB. What alot of ppl dunno is that w the money spent for the bridal studios in JB, couples can bring a photographer and makeup artiste to Bali for their photoshoot. With extensive research, I'm sure can find a right package. As for me, I have not seen my photos yet. But saw a few edited ones Which my photographer sent me as 'sneaks'. Really 101% satisfied. Haha! :)

Have u done ur pre wedding photoshoot yet? When is ur AD?
 
Sounds like an interesting experience!

Not yet done PS yet, my AD is in may 2016! Now more busy preparing for others' weddings than mine! Lolx..

Am planning for it at Hort Park. Their dates are not released yet so haven't booked.

Not as bridesmaid cux most of my close girlfriends are married le.. Busy helping other brides with their floral and decor.. It's fun!
