(2013/03) March 2013 BTB

Hi March 2013 BTB, i had initially booked my dinner banquet on 30 March 2013. We didnt want to consult the geomancer but we were lost on what time groom should come fetch me etc. and the procedures. Ended up we went to David Tong. To my disappointment, he said that 30 March 2013 is not a gd day for us and its Qing Ming period (he was saying 10 days before actual day of Qing Ming shouldnt wed too). As a Christian, i feel i should not let it affect me but it still did. Am vexed if I should change my AD. As my friend's wedding is in early Sep, i have to avoid early June to early Dec. So i am only left with Dec 2013. Jan and May are out because it is fully booked. Feb he was saying no one gets married during CNY mth and Apr is month of Qing Ming. Just feel vexed if I should ignore that fact and retain 30 March 2013 or postpone it 9 months later to 28 Dec 2013.
 


holding your AD during Qing Ming really depend on what you think and definately what both parents think..if every one is fine with it, can just proceed. i have frens who are christians and they dont care abt the chinese lunar calender..just pick the dates they like..but older generations (like the unlcle n aunties) will more or less talk abit one, unavoidable..
but seeing that we consulted the geomancer i think timing and dates means alot to you..to be more 'an xin', postpone ba..
postpone can have more time to save up..plus point of it?
 
Hi Junk foodie, it depends how you and your husband and family thinks about this whole Qing Ming thing.
I can understand how you are feeling now because we consulted a shifu and he said 16march 2013 is a good day for us and the next good day would be in september 2013! Imagine the long wait!
And 16 March 2013 is very near to my grandfather's anniversary and i was at a dilemma whether to go ahead to hold it in march or not. After many discussions, my family said its ok for me to hold it in march.
Ultimately, as long as you and your husband and family feel its OK to hold your wedding on 30 March, then you just go ahead bah.

my geomercer did tell me while date is important, time is more important.

he even gave us advice on how to counteract should we miss the auspicious time.. he say tt all this fengshui thing is to help the couple. with or without it, the most important thing is the couple's bazi is compatible and tt we love it each other..

maybe u try to seek out other fsm? i remember one of the dates the fsm gave us was also during march or april. LOL!!

My fiance's family are buddhist. His mum is a devouted one so she said if possible try to change. She is still my elder so i should respect her and shouldnt lie because hotel allows the change. Ya I am consoling myself if postpone to Dec, i can try to save for honeymoon and if possible fly off the next day and welcome 2014 in a new country! haha.

Mine is on 9th Mar, when I emailed a few hotels, all still available it seems! But i'm opting for lunch so i think still available.

Now I'm looking at BS, will only be deciding next week. It's v rush for me!

We are looking into funky or elegant theme. Yet to confirm.
Perhaps BMW, Volkswagen or mini cooper ..

For funky theme, i will suggest VW splitcreen camper, VW Beetle , NYC Taxi, Dureau Convertible, mini cooper or maybe you can consider some old fashion car but in good condition.

For elegant theme, i will suggest Bentley,Rolls-Royce, Daimler DS420 Limousine, Jaguar.

For mini coopers, you can go to eurokars groups and for elegance car u can go to weddingcars.

venue for outdoor shots - i will be meeting my photographers in nov to discuss. Do not have any ideas/preferences...but the gardens by the bay would be really nice....
 
Hello ladies, Wonder am I in e right e topic? Lol. My rom is in march 2013 but actual wedding will be one year later. Still planning for my rom, haven't get my dress yet or book any venue for the solemnize. Any recommendation?

My photoshoot is early Dec! Have not gotten my shoes yet. Next wk is my final fitting, so scared i will gain weight. haha

What else do we have to prepare for the shoot other than our heels?

Hi all 23 Mar BTB, have you all settled your solemnisers, if you are doing your solemnisation on that day too?
 
I read alot not very gd reviews about anna nucci. abit scared to buy from them.

Just went to city plaza to shop, but yet to get anything. more shopping tomorrow! anyway for photoshoot, some say heels is not VERY impt cos your feet won't be in much of the photo....really ah? I have not done my pedi yet!

anyway yup! im doing same day solemnisation!

Yup, photoshoot you can wear slippers too..for easy walking.. unless you are wearing a short gown for photoshoot.

Who did u find for JP? Sigh.. still finding mine. Not sure who to look for.
 
I find Anna Nucci shoes expensive
You can try Pazzion, they have quite a number of bling blings shoes
For mines, i bought in BKK Platinum mall while holidaying there..cheap and good!

Agree with Min..photoshoot can wear slippers unless short gowns or gowns got slits which will show ur legs..or u want special poses which will show ur legs

Min, i just confirmed my JP with Phua Tan Tee..i got a sample email to send to the JPs requesting for their service if you need.
i was reading the forum and saw his name pop up quite frequently so decided to try my luck..and lucky enough he is ok to help us.

Finished PS and selection of photos.
Personally find that the photos not that nice, maybe it's me, cos I look a bit fat

Now I also find my gown a bit plain (altho I wanted a simple gown in the beginning), kinda began to dislike the wedding favours which I have bought and not satisfied with many things even though HTB and I wanted a simple and fuss-free wedding.
Then, also feeling a bit insecure...dunno why

May: Dont worry too much. You will still look stunning on that day. Your friends and relatives will not complain just becos of the wedding favor..

I guess is some stage we are going through, cos there are too many things to bother, and we will start to worry if the things are nice and good etc. But things are never perfect...

Hillord: Can ask the BS to speed things up? After all it isn't your choice to fall sick..
 
looks like alot of us had problem with our wedding albums
for a full page design, had to select 3-4 photos of the same series..real headache..choose 2 not enough, die die must squeeze out 1 more

i just stick to the standard wedding favour the hotel giving, which is just a box of choc

Lemonzil: im with My Bridal Room..the service everything is really good..just that the package is pretty simple..coz no wedding car, no mum's dresses....my colleague took Sattine Bridal, give quite alot of freebies

Hillord: u can try Studio tangs? my fren got hers there...is something like the photo u posted..white classy satin heels
Try asking the bridal shop to squeeze u in for PS before mid Jan..presume 1 month to show u the pics..then 1 month to develop the album..still got time

Mine was le grand. Their gowns are really nice and the staff are great. But i wasnt "wow-ed" by my photos...probably because i was expecting alot more due to the fact that we paid quite alot for the package. Just hope the edited photos will turn out good.
 
Lemonzil: i paid 400 for 5 more pictures, just to get series of designs...
the basic package i got was 3388 (wedding album left right page no connect de, got white line...if can connect de gotta pay 300 more)

check with you gals, which card u using to pay for the banquet?
Standard Charter Manhattan gives $200 rebate for every $4000 spent within 3months..so take it that bride n groom has 1 each...$8000 get $400 rebate...
Example banquet cost $30,000 then balance $22,000 to use which card to pay to get best benefit?

For banquet payment, using uob card and convert to airmiles.

Xin: Im using Manhattan card. But I started paying it every 3 months since i booked the banquet. So I planned it such that i am left with roughly 10k or less to pay on the actual day. U can ask your xiong dis who have the card to help too? Can like share half half the rebates with them?
 
Min: can pay every 3 months??din think of that idea..i will be getting my brother to apply for it as well

so how's the prep going? just sent out Save the Date email to my colleagues..going to create the FB event for my friends soon

Hi Min, finally who is the solemizer you engaged? I have emailed to Mr Phua too but his time slot were full. So now I'm headached who the solemizer can engage.
 
Yup, can pay every 3 months. We informed the coordinator beforehand.

I have not done my Save the Date card! Ha..need to send it out really soon too.

My GDL will be 2 weeks b4 (usually about there) but depending on your parents' preference and will need to consider that Feb is CNY period.

Still got an chuang which is few days b4 the AD, food tasting..and many more..hahaa..

Winnie: I engaged Mrs Chia Swee Tin in the end. Hmm..maybe you can get some recommendations from your friends too?
