But Joos W, what I liked about short march in is that everyone will be as close to the stage as possible, so everyone is ensured full view of the couple....

Maybe you would like to start sourcing on your side too? Shortlist just a few good ones for your partner to go through. Saves time and at the same time get the best of both world.
 
Lee, need to decide fast. Htb n I got the shock of our lifes when we started sourcing in sep. What venues r u looking at?

I concur with Joos... the venues are being snapped up fast coz like what carebearz say, next year sep not a good month to get married...

I'm now sourcing for AD package and have shortlisted photo on the spot for PG/VG~ can i ask how is the payment terms for PG/VG going to be? is it the same as BS whereby u pay by stages or pay deposit and balance upon collection of photos and albums?
Sherlyn: that's wat i did also~ do the research and shortlisting, bring htb down to recce... he nod head and placed the deposit straight~
 
Lee I don't have the time yet to shortlist the VGs, you wanna tell me a more specific budget? I into you offhand, faster this way. Cos too many emails to sieve through! (: Anyway, you might wanna try Sundays, cos Saturdays are hotter days than Sundays. (:

Queenqueen Yeah, easier this way and involved your partner too, ultimately it makes all party happy. (: Btw, if I remember correctly, it's supposed to be deposit upon confirmation, then upon collection on deliverable, then pay up balance.
 
Joos I have no problem opening it too. It's just that I thought it was from Jan 2011 to December 2011? Or is it that some one edited the excel to have only October 2011 excerpted out?
 
I saw the oct dates. But strangely, there r two oct 2011 sections reflected on my screen wonder what's wrong. Oh, I thought I read u can't open the file, read wrongly. But yea, sth wrong w the presentation.

Still sourcing for a PG+VG package... considering CLIP Productions or Muse+Hues. Not sure which is better. Anyone can advise?
 
Hi Gals! It's been a long time since i log in to chat. I changed my date to 8 Oct. I didn't realise that 8 Oct is such a hot date. But a saturday banquet is better to fit my work schedule. Now i got trouble finding MUA as many are already booked.

Liz You can drop Muse+Hues, cos another bride Min already engaged their service already. You can try CLIP productions, last heard from them last month they are still available.
 
Sherlyn, I decided to take up sat date. It's very difficult for me to take leave on a Monday after Sunday banquet and now we have the budget so we changed. At 1st we booked 9 oct. Till recently we decide to have it 1 day earlier. I wanted 1 oct it's an auspicious day but the ballroom is booked already. My mom also hope I can take a sat to fit my work schedule.

Anyone knows y 8 oct is a popular date?
 
doragal I have no idea why, I guess something to do with the fengshui or the stars on the day or smth. 8th October is good, cos I'm having wedding on that day too! ((:
 
Hi girls, can I check with you if you r paying for your jie mei dresses and how much budget are you setting/pax? I have some constraints with budget and am thinking of $30/pax. what do you think?
 
Joos, actually I have seen frens who have budget constraints. My frens tell their Jie meis to wear existing dresses they have. If the colour theme is pink all Jie meis wear their own pink dresses. But everyone will have different designs n shades of pink. One good thing is can save $.
 
Okie. But if I want them to wear the same dresses, I should b paying for them right? I was thinking of 30$ but one of my Jie Mei told me that I should factor in at least 50.
 
Joos I'm thinking of getting the same dress for them. Or I will get them to go get the same one. Gonna give them $50 to buy dress, on top of that still will give angbao on AD. (:
 
Sherlyn & Joos, may i suggest you to look for a shop/seamstress to buy the jie meis dress. The best is you buy or tailor made with them so that there is less confusion or trouble. My fren has to correspond over the phone when each of the jie mei want different style and you have to arrange the time for all jie meis to go down to buy together. Need to ensure they dont buy the wrong one somemore. Dress dont come cheap these days, sometimes even $80. If more btbs join in to get from the same seamstress, it means more biz for her and more discounts for all the btbs.
 
Gals, I am taking MTM gowns. Now i have an issue, I dont know if my gowns will turn out as wonderful or disappointment. I just started my gown design. My sis went with me and she told me that i wasnt specified enough to describe my ideal gown. I didnt want to limit the designer's creativity. To add on, now i still haven't found MUA for AD. sigh......
 
joo: yar i know. I looked at a few venues, all taken. So no choices. Just which ones have dates then i consider. So sad.

Sherlyn: As mentioned previously, about 3k. Yar I asked for both sat and sun, mostly taken liao else it's on tentative booking.

dora: which MUA have you tried? After finding venues, I will also have to find MUA, VG, PG and many more.

all: It's exam period soon so i wont be able to reply so frequently. Hope i can settle my venue soon. So far only 2 hotels have dates and the tables for 1 of them is not good for me. So only 1 left and waiting for her reply.
 
Hi Dora, if you need a JP who is rather popular, you can start contacting them now. Guess there is never a "too early" in case your JP gets snapped up by someone else..

been about a month since i last login and there are so many posts!! Congrats to all the BTBs on confirming your AD dates! Saw some 1st Oct BTB! I am also a 1st Oct BTB =)
I need some advice on VG for AD. I think you all might have discussed before in the archive sections but i am too lazy to see them... Hehe... Can please share again? Thanks!
 
@dora: My HTB called out JP and she mentioned to him that it is too early and ask us to contact her again in June next year... =)
But it depends on the JP if he/she is popular anot like what Joos mentioned.
Yesterday Sunday Times, there is one article which wrote that next year 2011 is a good year to get married and a lot of venues are already taken up.
Me and my HTB also had a hard time when we started searching in Sept.
 
We booked our JP rather early, right after we confirmed our venue. Almost 1yr in advance, guess it is really up to the JP if he/she wants to take in the booking or not

Ladies, if u intend to engage a highly raved JP, do ensure there are enough time to play around. As there are many cases where JPs are late, due to traffic jam or delay by the previous couple.

Sokeai, yes usually it takes about 3 months to process the wedding band.
