Hi all,

My wedding day is on 21 July 2011. I'm with Mandarin Orchard. Going to taiwan take my PS next year Mar or Apr 2011.
 


Hi Ladies, have not login for 2 mths. How's preparation? For me, I have yet to select any BS but I actually took up an engagement shoot on top of my taiwan pre-wed shoot in end october with Oh!Dear! Photography.

By the way, I was browsing through a blogshop called acrossthebloodyuniverse.com . They have those convertible dress for bridesmaid. Thinking of getting for my bridesmaid but do you think is right to get it now since i haven't even decide on which BS and gown. Mmmmm... any suggestion?
 
Hi Karen, no time no c u here. i believe the blogshop will be there for awhile, maybe u can consider getting the bridesmaid dresses later, maybe at the end of the year or early next year in case u have changes to your entourage (in case some BM last min put aeroplane).
 
hi all, i just sign up with my bridal room for our bridal package. waiting for a customise stamp chop to arrive and start planning for my candy bar bags..
 
Hi Cocotintin and all BTBs.. I have another questions in mind.. If I am looking into tall centrepiece like this? I don't think I am looking into engaging wedding planner. No budget. =S Oh! And another question is... what if the table liner from the hotel doesn't suit ur wedding theme? We can't be buying table liner just for the banquet right? All these questions been on my mind for weeks.... thinking who to ask...

Hihi, I am getting married on 2 Jul 2011 but have yet to plan anything, except secure my hotel banquet and bridal package.

I have many questions, hope fellow BTBs can help

What should I do now? Is it necessary to have a wedding theme? (initially i'm thinking of retro theme but I think quite difficult for husband and I to fit into the theme and also the music to play for such theme)

Do most people go for MTM or OTR? my package has MTM WG and EG but I'm afraid the MTM might fail (cos I read many negative feedbacks about the boutique, though none is due to fail MTM)

Tring to diet but really hard to control diet. I exercised more but eat more too

Can I know which bridal studio you are with and when you taking your pre-wedding shots?

Im with fame bridal. arranged the Pre-wedding shots in nov.. settled the gown selection already, final fitting in early nov.

where did u get ur dates calculated?
 
i went to a fortune teller to check on the tong shu based on the dates which the ball room of the hotel which I wanted is available. Do update us of your choices!
 
hi girls! i'll be getting married on 3 july 2011.

so far, i've only confirmed my venue - goodwood park, and nothing else... i went BS shopping today and am really pleased with allure charix. tried on a gown that i like very much too. question is would it be too early to place a deposit with them for their package and as well as confirming the wedding gown at this stage? i think it's fine but my fiance thinks it's too early esp when we have to pay a deposit. -_-

hi yanling, im also a goodpark bride. my AD is on 24 Jul. Its not too early, i place my deposit for my BS a few months ago in fact. hehe

If u have already found the gown u really like after much thoughts then u shld place a deposit. r u going to mtm yr gown? if you are, the more u should place your deposit early because u need time to design your gown and do fitting.
 
Hello Yanling! It's not too early! If that's what u know u want, then you should place a deposit. However, before u make a decision, do check out other options as well, so that you won't regret.

This won't be the only thing that u are placing a deposit for, u also need to book your PG, VG, MUA and these require a deposit as well. And some of the popular ones do get booked up quite early so it's best if u plan early.

i will be doing round 2 of my gown sourcing this sat. going to visit allure again to confirm some of the finer details with them.

we've also just booked our photographer and in the midst of confirming our videographer.
 
btw, have u girls visited allure charix for ur gowns? any comments?

i like the simplicity of their gowns and to top it off, they are REALLY reasonably priced! at like $800+ a wedding gown!

We have not decide on our AD PG & VG... coz 1 we actually shortlisted is costing like 2.6k for AD PG with album.. why so ex 1??!! =(

Long time never visit forum... Anyway, I have finally finally settle with my BS package, photographer! Yet to source videographer...

OH! And i am done with my pre-wedding shoot in Taiwan. Good experience but i will still recommend BTB to take in SG.

So how are your planning? =)

Anyone plan for your honeymoon already?
 
Hi Karen, when r u doing your PS in Taiwan?

For me, I have not done much. I just went to get my measurements taken on Mon so i'm waiting for my first fitting hopefully by the end of this month. Planning to do my PS after cny. Need to start recee-ing for places already. hehe..

As for local BS, I haven went for fitting yet. Just sign up a package 2 weeks ago. Ur gown is MTM or off rack? Oh.. Ya! I am intending to do a local shoot aka Engagement shoot in SG with a freelance photographer. Pretty affordable. =)

I haven't plan anything for my honeymoon... No time.. =( Where are you going?

Oh... and do you have a theme for your wedding? I am having all sorts of idea but putting it into real thing takes so much work!

your taiwan PS is nice, looks like u had a wonderful time there.Like a mini honeymoon. Which local BS did u sign up with for AD? So u sign up for your AD photography n video separately? When r u doing your engagement shoot?
My gown is off the rack but i top up a token to MTM the top.
I have not thought of a theme yet, it is difficult to make the theme come true sometimes. I might just stick to a colour theme and if i have time to plan and more money to decorate the place then i might consider having a theme. what abt u?

I'm planning a trip to Europe for my HM. Planning to Paris and a few states in Italy.

Thanks babe! I am having a hard time getting the PIC in Taiwan to edit the pictures. Using chinese to liasie with them is a HUGE challenge to me! Haha! I sign up AD package with LaBelleCouture. Find that they have huge range of gown and their staffs are very helpful & friendly. I sign up my AD photography with a Freelance photographer name Andy Loh. Pretty affordable $680 for 10 hrs shoot. As for video, I am still sourcing... I truly want a theme for my wedding but no idea what theme yet. -.- Europe! That sound AWESOME! When are you going? Will it be right after wedding? =)
 
oh.. Labelle couture. 1 of my gd fren also sign up with labelle for her AD wedding and similar to u she took her PS in taiwan. Her gowns were quite nice, so is her make up. I'm sure u will be in gd hands.

Tentatively I will be going for my HM around late Oct till early Nov 2011. My hubby has got work committments because his boss is on maternity leave during our AD period and I dont have enough leave so I have make use of the deepavali and hari raya puasa because my company is forcing us to take leave as company's shut down. so sickening.

theres still 8 mths before our wedding, think still quite early to start preparing invites, GDL etc. haha.. shall relak awhile more.

Hows everybody's preparations? Not sure if I'm on track, behind time line or ahead of time line.

I have since completed the following
1. Venue booked
2. Wedding date fixed
3. First fitting done
4. PS after CNY
5. VG/PG all booked

When do we need to start designing our invites and inform/sms our friends to inform them of the wedding date prior to mailing them the invites?

I'm 16 July btb new to this thread. Seems to me that you are quite on track. I completed about the same as you apart from the gown fitting and booking of PS date.

Think can start designing invites le. For me, I'm planning to inform/sms friends about 2 months before afraid they might forget if too early. However closer few as well as some overseas friends I've informed them so that they can make whatever arrangements they need.

What other things you thinking of DIYing ? I've been trying to look for ang bao boxes but seems like it's quite hard to find the right size.
 
Clare: yeah in fact i have also inform closer friends abt the wedding date. i think 2 mths for the rest is gd, otherwise they will forget and that is what i am most worred. Cannot imagine if i mail them the invitation and then tell me they cant make it.

I have not thought of what to DIY, I am not a handicraft person man.. haha.. I have been to many weddings and the AP box seems like the size of the box used to contain the reams of A4 paper that we purchase in office. Most of my friends they buy scrap book materials and decorations to beautify it. I am planning to do a wishing tree, so might have to source for wedding stationeries. Wonder which printer is good and affordable.

Where is your banquet held? Maybe u should start preparing for your PS now or else it will get too busy the next few mths when we have to start preparing for GDL and guest list.

I see quite a number of you are DIYing. Jia You!! I am really bad at creative works so I am leaving to the hotel coordinator for her recommendations. :P
 
Hi Cocotintin, my banquet's held at plaza parkroyal beach road. Meeting boutique sometime this month. Hopefully will firm up the dates for PS and fittings otherwise I think I will be stressed towards the end of the process. Read somewhere that some brides do their printing in JB. Not sure if it's much cheaper there.

Hi Jingying, when's your AD and where you having your banquet?

Anyway girls, I am not creative too. Just thought that since I have some time shall try DIYing something small like ang bao box haha so if it turns out ugly still have some time to purchase one for AD. Btw, have you girls bought rings already or are done with the ROM process?
 
Hi Clare, my AD is on 8 July and venue is at Novotel Clarke Quay. =)

My ROM and dinner would be on the same day, so have not bought our wedding bands yet.
 
Yep will probably do AP box and guest book. Lower risk haha.

Gown fitting 14th Jan and I'll probably be doing PS in March hopefully earlier if possible. Haven't diet enough though and still not worried about it. How wonderful.....

Alright then. Update again when you all have done any more steps ok like buying GDL things, printing invites, even food tasting etc etc. 6 more months !! Don't know to feel excited or worried haha.

6 more months will past very quickly. haha.. actually feeling a little excited liao. haha.. 3 months b4 AD must go food tasting. Better do PS early so the PG will have enough time to edit and do up ur album.

Are u all designing the invites or getting the standard ones frm the hotel? Are you all planning to have any cocktail activities like engage someone to take photos/polaroid?

I'm looking around for GDL cakes. Nice ones are very exp and modern. Mum prefers something traditional yet not too sweet. sigh.. troublesome. haha By the way is it a standard practice that the guy also also demand cakes frm the girl side to give their relatives?

Otherwise we'll probably decide on places we usually go on dates. What about urself? Roughly have an idea which places you might wana go?

I'm most prob using std ones the hotel provide since it's unlikely ppl will keep it after the wedding. However, I'm thinking of designing my own for the solemnisation in church and either print my own or use same hotel printer. Thought of polaroids too but not sure if it'll be messy coz my hotel's foyer like quite small.
HTB's side didn't ask for cakes from us. But, we're both quite unsure of the many customs

So...maybe it's required and we just dunno. Perhaps ask your mum to recommend places that sells traditional cakes? If you're teochew, I think there's this thong heng place in chinatown that sells traditional cakes not sure if it's suitable for GDL.
 
hm...i am shortlisting a few scenic places like Botanic Gardens, Bishan Park and Changi Boardwalk. I am also thinking of other places such as Mount Sophia and swimming pool that relates to us more.
 
haha.. yeah thong heng is cantonese. Gin Thye is for teochew but i think my relatives feedback its too sweet when my mum distributed to them during my sis GDL 4 yrs back. So i guess she is planning to buy the traditional butter cream cake. well.. anyway GDL is for her to see so let her decide. we just give whatever she wants. haha..
