Kass> its opposite Chinatown Point (People's park centre). Second floor, opp Singapore Pools. There is one more shop selling more ribbons on 3rd floor, at the extreme corner (turn to your left if u are taking escalator up). i tink so. haha.

piggy, i think i know where you are referring to. the mall got alot of handicraft shops and those shops that sell beads and crystal de right? thanks for sharing. i think T Dragon is selling the strings at $5 for one bunch.

i am going t dragon later in the evening to choose design.
 
Curious... do you guys wear contact lens?? Normal or the "big eye" kind? My MUA asked me to consider big eye contact lens... I still thinking whether I need it or not. *ponder*
 
nope. i cant seem to wear contact lens. dunno y will start tearing. i tried 3 brands all like that...last time i was able to wear....

Kass I dun need to wear specs... Just abit only maybe at night driving can't see etc so all along I dun wear...sorry I thought u mean wear contacts for big eye effect...

I seldom see brides wearing specs for big day...do maybe u can consider ur makeup artist de suggestion...

I bought my red wines from ntuc finest n delivering on mon...1 bottle at promo 14.80...I cater about 1.9 bottles per table hope is enough

My MUA only told me about the contact lens when she make up on me. But however, even if she tell me before the make up, inwont wear too. Sometimes abit fake den if u go for natural shots not v nice. My feel is like that la. Plus I nv wear before and I won't wanna wear also. :D but en up my photos turned out great! Cuz got make up anything also gd. Plus her eye makeup is superb!
 
kass, i got big eye contacts in 2 circumferences... hee... depending on how u want the make up done, it may or may not make a difference... for me, it does not show up in photos except for close ups.
i think that its only more obvious in real life... :D
 
w3n>wad is the brand of the wine? can buy in normal ntuc to try? if can, den i buy 1 over the weekend. heehee. the price is just nice. will not burst my budget.

Piggy: the wine I went alot ntuc but din see, I saw at finest n bought it to try...is stone barn...now dunno still got promotion or not, if dun have is $23 retail price...

@kass, i'm wearing big eyes contact lens, but my eyes are already big so nobody realize until i told them about it. haha. so doesnt make a difference for me.

however, i think i will wear normal contact lens on AD cos the big eye contact lens always make my eyes feel dry after a few hours. normal lens is more comfortable for me.

@w3n, the wine u bought from NTUC is cheap, good buy! i want to go NTUC buy a bottle to try too.
 
Hello... Just wondering how are you all going to store the wine if buy now? I heard from friend that wine might turn bad especially weather in singapore is so hot and humid..
I would like to prepare first but i really scared they spoilt before May...

Wen, ask u ah.. U got how many tables roughly (as wad u told t-dragon)? And u got 70% of the card rite? Den if not enough?

The Aunty said if we increase our tables can go back tell them den the so called 70% increased.

I told her we've got 28 tables. So she give about 196 pcs. Den if I really got 28 tables of guests den cards not enough, I buy from them? No doubt that relatives give only one card per family. I'm Juz being concerned.
 
Kass, if we buy from NTUC or those supermart, we have to buy and keep at our house already right? Don't think those supermart will have the service of delivering wine nearer to AD.. How do you know the 2000 wine is still ok? You tried already? I just worried we are only aware the wine is spoilt during the AD when the wine is opened. Then very pai sei and troublesome already...
 
Yes, you have to keep at your house if you buy fr supermarkets. If you buy from specialist wine retailer, they should be able to keep for you tO deliver closer to AD. We recently opened the 2000 wine and it was still okay.

Michelle yup I did ask t dragon she say if got additional table n need more cards juz go back to inform hotel n liase with them, if hotel agree with the cards then can take more free
cards from them if not buy at 1 buck per card n envelope...

Today I went down to buy tie, uncle say shop open till 3pm but I reach at 2 he closed Liao! Say got urgent things closed early, waste my trip n expensive parking! Argh! Suggest u all call him before going down...

Went to buy jia zhuang n hair combing items today...spent 300+ including those stickers, new clothing, towels, hair coming items, lamps, bowls, umbrella blablabla that's the shop at Chinatown that fann n chris went...I find wedding stuff really not cheap...haa but once in a lifetime...the aunt is very friendly n knowledgeable...

wen >> red wine if opened dun put in fridge. Only white wine need to keep in fridge. Make sure you store in a cool dry place away from humidity.

There are 3 shops in Chinatown, 2 in the food centre block next to OG, one is in the block opposite people's park. If you go up the main staircase, it's on the left side. One is inside
the block facing the food centre courtyard, one is facing
people's park complex. I think the one fann and Chris go to got their picture in the shop. LOL.
 
Shop name I need to check but is at level 2 of the hawker centre I think...I saw chris n the boss pic in the shop....besides the shop got sell fabrics etc...the shop I went 3 times always got customer...how much u all spent on the jia zhuang stuff ah...my mum in law went to buy bedsheet, the serving tea set for me ( but supposed to b buy by bride side) so the shop owner say give her a red packet Yi shi Yi shi...

The red umbrella hor the moment we step out of hse, our dad need to shade us with it...but in the lift still need to shade ah? I saw ppl go downstairs then shade but the aunt say step out of hse need to shade le...

I found a shop selling nice traditional butter cakes at 1 box 7bucks...is a cake shop near my hse...her cakes r nice so I decided to change to buy from there...

btw, my JMs bought their dresses liao, we went to shop at bugis on friday and bought it at room 707 (one of my fav shop). so glad that all my jiemeis can fit into the same dress and most imptly they like it too. it looks sweet on them, it's a one piece dress with vintage flowers, cos our morning theme is retro (80s fashion).

Yester our bed arrives. Den cleaned his room alittle. Today went to HTB hse to clean again, think need to clean 2 more rounds or rather to make space for the wardrobe. And left to buy a mirror to put in bedroom for my dressig table. Haha! Not much space in the room thou.
 
Wen, check with u ah.. The T-Dragon got say when they will call u to collect e cards? They lady say we can collect on wed, but she will call us to confirm. Btw, wad design u choosed? In the big album section de ma? Or Ur hotel range? :D kpo abit. Lol

Michelle and w3n >> There are many examples there... so you can look and adapt. What you can do is to get your parents to make all the necessary changes on a sample insert and then bring there, so you won't miss out on anything. THen over there, you can look through the rest of the samples to see if there is anything else you wanna add.

THat's what we did. Originally we prepared everything liao. Then when we reach there, we saw an invite insert which we like so just made all the necessary changes according to that.

Remember to bring a copy of your card along.
 
The one which Fann and Christopher visited is called Amanda Dreamweaver. The entire shop got so many things! They even do invites as well! I remember flipping through (and that was how I saw Fann and Christopher's photo).
 
I chose from a blue color big file ( I think is for my hotel range de) n I choose two colors of a design...juz a simple card haha we like 1 Design but we like white which don't have stock...

Ermmm anyone else got any sample of invite can share with me? I have 1 sample on hand which I think is kass sent me? T n T have alot of samples for us ( for the insert)?

I din ask what they want to write on the insert wor... Shd I ask both parents? Coz I was thinking is about same, juz the dates, venue, name diff, am I right ah?
 
Yah Amanda dreamweaver... I only rem is dreamweaver...u all know of any other shops that sell gdl items cheaper?

I rent my kua from Amanda too...is 220bucks but if buy jia zhuang from her then she charge me 180 for the kua renting...that's y my mum buy everything from her...but was wondering if there is any other shop which u all know is cheaper...or in JB?
 
Mich: the t dragon told me tue will call me to collect the cards if ready, so if tue is ready I will go down after work to collect ba....
 
w3n >> you know those clear folder with many pockets? Yeah, the entire folder at TnT is all inserts. More than 40 I reckon. After I while, I sian liao, do didn't flip through the entire thing. So just saw some in front and some behind. Cuz after a while, can be very repetitive.

You might want to check with your parents. My dad is Chinese educated so he is more particular about it. He changed some of the wording to sound more polite and more ke qi... Also there is the chinese side of the invite, need to know what is the name of your hotel in chinese, address, what is the date of your wedding according to chinese calendar etc, all these in chinese.
 
w3n >> Hotel map ask hotel to provide a .jpg version and bring a soft copy over. But I wouldn't be surprised if there is already a map of GPCH at TnT. THey can also reuse, but bring your own, just in case.

Aaaa mich u intend to print on card or insert? My guess is if u are printing on the cards then u need to bring all the cards?
 
if print on insert den they print on a piece of paper?

my card design is hard paper (which is the card) and a piece of transclusant paper design. Think i do normal printing on the hard card or the transclusant paper? So i need to bring all ba..

I tot of do a small hot stamping on the front of the card leh..
 
You juz need to bring 1 card so that hey know what size insert to print for your card.

TnT does not do hotstamping, so cannot print there if you wanna do hot stamping.

Don't think can do normal printing on the hard card, cuz the card may be too hard for it.

Michelle, cannot really visualize your invite design. You wanna take a picture to show us??

Printing on translucent paper is completely different price leh, more than double price of normal insert printing. I remember being quoted RM400 plus for 300 pcs as opposed to RM140 for normal insert.
 

wow i am actually quite confuse hahaha maybe till i pop by t and t this sat then i can understand clearer.

whats the diff between translucent and normal insert? i thought the insert is usually abit like pink pink type, almost translucent? is that considered normal insert?

my ROM starts at 7pm in a room, do u all think i should still put 7pm for corktail? my ROM room is just beside the corktail reception though. i am afraid if i put a later timing, ppl come very late and is a sunday dinner, dont wish to end too late.
