Thomas: Mine is Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel.
I can recommend you my coordinator (Elizabeth) if you are interested. hmm.. pricing sllightly exceed your budget. if it's on weekday / sun then about 840 /900. if fri/sat about 1050+.
The grand ballroom is pillarless. (min 30/40tables) depending weekday/weekend. If I am not wrong, Riverfront Ballroom is also pillarless, max 20 tables.
The waterfront ballroom has pillars (min 22 max 28 tables).

A friend of mine has a wrong calculated date.. by chance, she realised that the date was a super lousy date when she went to a fortune teller.. in the end, needs to change date 3 weeks before the AD.. The whole AD was quite screwed up becos of that.. So I play safe and want to ask another shifu to calculate again..
Blue diamond> So no COV for your house? 440K for 5 room in boon keng is really cheap.. Old house or low floor? You still need to pay 1% to seller agent.. he will settle the messy procedures on your behalf, or else you need to make many trips to HDB..

Yup...there no cov...manage to bargain the price down by 30k.
It a 20 years flat, however facilities and exterior look quite new. It in a simple move in condition..flooring ok...just need to do reno on the kitchen and toilets.
It on the 6th floor...corner unit. It 120+ sqm...
Wonder what are some of the trips i need to make? I know that i will have to do the submission....

Jaq> went to Amara's wedding show. Their ballroom's unique feature is the ceiling. it's like a constellation of stars, quite nice. though a bit low (to me).
The main ballroom can take up to 35 tbls (i think 32 will be more comfortable), pillarless. anything more than 35tbls, it will be a L-shaped ballroom.
the lobby area is quite cosy. food not bad.
Bridal suite is quite big as the building is an old building.

I prefer those older kind of unit as they will have a unit that has bigger floor area which allow me to play ard with space as well....
In fact i choose the plc cos bee staying at that area for more than 20 years n it quite near to town also...hehehehe

Deerixp> Carlton is 888 nett for sun.. Can't rem the rest of the pricing offhand.. As the food is from Wah Lok and location is good, this price is considered good.. The co-ordinator says that as they are going through major revamp of the hotel that overall improves the hotel standing.. therefore pricing will have to adjust accordingly.. But 20% is a big jump! Now still waiting for the 2010 pricing to be out..

Think it's not easy to keep the tables within limit.. Initially I only have 28 tables.. now almost 33 liao.. And it will just keep increasing I think..

thomas:35-40 max lor..ya pillarless is the best n we have v strict criteria..must have black theme n big space for reception, western dinner..LOL..so far Orchard Hotel is 1 of the acceptable hotel but they dun have 2010 March pricing yet n their max tables for wkend is 40... =S

Jus tat i dunno how much to gif each 1, but my bf did receive 1 from the gal's side, 1 from guy's side wen he attend a close fren's wedding. Tink the ap not a lot of $$ de lah...
Mich: got, 'xiong di' also must give lah, they take the effort to wake up early to help u all mah eg. fetching the bride, help to carry things so have to give them as a token of appreciation...

haha forgot to mention, I had a total of 3 APs, one from fren's mum when we went to his house first thing in the morning b4 fetching his bride, one from bride's mum after we managed to get them to open the door, and the last from my fren for my car (petrol to and fro his hse, bride's hse etc.)
