abt DBSS flats...XKA dunno cos she stay condo one...hee...

DBSS flats usually cost 20% more than similar houses around the area cos it comes with condo-like finishing and furnishing...but it's still under HDB once completed...it's developed and designed and built by pte developers...the 1st was in tampines...now completed...then book keng was the 2nd then AMK, Toa payoh and bishan...still 99 yr lease and without condo stuff such as swimming pool, clubhouse, gym and security...

Cher, how many rooms do u intend to get?In e first place, Bishan is considered prime, so prices r definitely slightly on e high side.n plus dbss, you'll oso be paying a slight premium for e design. SO for 4rm, it'll be abt 400k plus i guess. but gd thing is,u dun hv to do much reno after TOP lor. However, u'll stil hv to ballot for the flats rite?is the exercise on now?

Act e first was at Duxton,Cantonment.But the project is still under construction even tho the Tampines one is completed. Heard there was foundation problem.

XKA,can't compare HDB n condo bcos, woth dat price, she might hv to buy a condo at jurong or Chua Chu Kang,which is not so centralise. Location makes alot of diff....

bt then 400k is for 99 years leh n no condo facilities...

tink she can get a 2 bedroom, 999 or freehold for 500k lor along bukit timah area, due to e economy now..then 5 years later, sell e house, she still can earn at least 100k....

for mi, mi priority is making mi $$ grow ba, rather than location..coz i dun tink i will stay there foreva..sure move after 5 or 6 years...so dun like to 'throw in' $$ lor juz for e location..unless its private property..

the bishan one even have lucky draw with car as grand prize for anyone who buy their units...

Duxton was still considered Design and Built under HDB like my Bedok Reservoir View one...Tampines was the 1st DBSS project...

hi kath... think can only afford to get the 4-room ones.. coz the 4room already costs $477K +... for 7th storey.. but "agent" claims that the flats are built on higher terrain..so its the equivalent of a 10th floor..

Yeah...agree on the reno bit..no need to ballot liaos...now its just walk in selection..coz response is not good..haha

XKA, just went to see a condo along marine parade road...it's going for $900 psf...dun think $500 plus k can get 2 bedroom unit along bt timah yet wor...

prices for condos are falling but it's still on the high side...

i'm in grassroots so i just asked RC chairman..he say will help mi ask the CCC chairperson if he free to be my solemnizer...hahaha...he say can help mi ask my MP who's a minister! LOL...

I tink prices for private r not dat low yet leh. Can get something along bt timah for 500k?maybe more towards bt panjang?And for older developments and smaller units?

Another thing to consider is first timer subsidies if both r sporeans.The grants n the HDB loan interest are factors to consider too. It's an entitlement. So if buy private first time, will forfeit all these liao.

Cher,is there a reason y u choose Bishan?Another thing to consider is vicinity to parents as well. Seriously, an impt factor. Esp when i look at my friends n relatives with kids now. It's not ez to shuttle ard to fetch kids here n there.

Hi Kath &amp; Nok - how much were the property that you guys bought (if you all dun mind sharing la)?

Am keen on bishan coz:
(1) Near my parents place so got grant..
(2) Have stayed ard that area for the last 20yrs
(3) thinking much longer term - htb is from Catholic High and i'm from IJ Toa Payoh..so kids in future (if any) are bound to go to either of these schools.. so location would be ideal..
(4) and of course location in general lah..think bishan is very convenient..

XKA,I printed out pictures of each of their designs.then my mum took measurements for some of them n some i juz took their most fitting dress w me. Then bring to tailor. Tell her which design follow which measurements lor.

Queen, i read in FP that some people go for acupuncture + eating some meal replacement and they managed to lose alot of weight.

I tried meal replacement for 1 month but i realise it is too miserable. I rather don't eat than to eat it which apparently is working for me.

i can't imagine being poke everwhere by needles (some say bearable, some say otherwise, very extreme comments). that's why i opt for tui na instead. Rather have 'pi rou zi ku.
