drea...can quarrel over lots of things lar. hmm, before ROM, small argument over inviting too much ppl to ROM = more ppl at dinner = more money spent = overbudget.

after ROM, argue over what we wan for our new home, what appliances to buy, not to buy, what kind of reno items can take out, cannot take out. y I cannot stay over at his place over the weekend, y I have to listen to what my mum says. wah...the list goes on and on.

Mei, for the roast pig hor... Its a Cantonese custom... So, i also blur blur... Y u need it also? Coz i think other dialects got other things to substitute for that pig.

Yup, we will return the head & the tail, the middle portion will be replaced by a pants and angbao. This means that the gal side also give back some wealth. Coz pants pronounced in Cantonese also has the same sound as wealth.

just to add, the middle portion will be replaced by a pair of pants, a belt, red packet and mandarain oranges. Pronounce it in cantonese and it symbolises æœ‰å¯Œï¼Œæœ‰æˆ´ï¼Œæœ‰è´¢ï¼Œæœ‰é‡‘ã€‚ The pair of pants and belt will be wrapped in red paper.

Take it easy... Usually it's just because two person has different views. Which cause dismay... then quarrel. Cool down and talk things easily.. and slowly work things out lor.

Agnes >> Maybe u can get some fengshuai ref book and practise the very basic fengshuai.. Eg: Mirror cannot face bed, and doorway and toilet etc... At least when you design you avoid the common not to dos...

i only know bed cannot face door & mirror.

and also i found pple like to hang their wedding portrait or paintings above their head (headboard) area...that, the fengshui master also said no good.

but anyway, now hardly pple put their wedding portrait abv their head, since most have nice headboard specially designed.

janice, i did bought a book on basic fengshui. so rough koe wat to avoid. even my prayer altar ID used FS measuring tape to measure dimension.

jas, ya lor.. when dating time no quarrels at all. oni after ROM den started one. tend to be more now coz of getting flat n wedding preparations.

junie, i'll still be hanging my wedding portrait above the headboard but nt directly above. coz my MBR has lots of beam, so we ask ID to plaster/box-up the wall to level off the beam until left one rectangle box for us to hang portrait. nt gd to sleep under beam.

Janice, basic FS says, try not to put anything that has sharp edge pointing at ur head when u sleeping.

Besides, bed cannot face mirror or door, also cannot face TV (LCD also cannot). my FS master confirmed liao, he say no good. Coz like u kenna trapped in the TV.

I got something to share on Fengshui. Once you get your keys to your hse, must bring salt and rice (mixed) and sprinkle in all parts of your hse.

Usually it is only applicable for resale flat, as it helps in chasing all the bad things out, a lot of pple do it for new flats too.

Then hor, your hse got balcony or not? My FS master says the balcony is very important to a man's career. So if your balcony is blocked by another flat, then must buy an eage statue and face outside. This symbolise zhan chi gao fei. If your hubby's zodiac is rooster, then cannot buy the eagle le.

As what Junie say, bed cannot face door. Also cannot face windows. But then quite diff to do so in today's flats, so must find the best position.

Think pants is the most impt for the roast pig on the AD.

Mei, mabbe u should check with ur MIL on this coz the roast pig is requested by the bride side. Nothing to do with ur hubby side. So, if ur Mum dun want, tell her also...

Okie being fellow Cantonese gal. This is what my parents gave

1. Hubby - Angbao for belt & wallet ($68 each)
2. PILs - Angbao for MIL's skirt & PIL's pants ($88 each)

Then i heard, if got Grandparents ard, must give an angbao for dunno what. Coz my hubby & i dun hv grandparents ard so no need to give.

These stuff are part of the GDL... As for the birthday etcc, SIL, BIL hor.. I never heard of it b4! But, i do know that if u buy ur SIL, BIL a little gift or give angbao. Its a gesture for them to appreciate!

shirley, my mum already checked out for mi wat to do when opening the doors to our new flat. tink still got 5 types of coloured beans. eg. red bean, green bean, etc. some ppl roll pineapples into the flat coz "ong lai ong lai" got prosperity mah.

yah, i got balcony. it's overlooking the playground, so not blocked.

FS book say, no bed under beam or under window. no bed facing door, or toilet door.

I need your help!!!
My bro's getting married in January 07, next month, and NOTHING's done yet cos they just found out that gf is expecting. I'm trying to help them in the planning and everything, but with only 1 month to go and I have no experience, where to start?

Can someone share your experiences in preparation? Wedding banquet venue is not a problem cos we found a restaurant. We also found a JP for solemnisation on the AD. Now the headache is WG, etc. She don't want to have wedding photoshoot with her tummy showing, so we might not take BS packages. Personally I think wedding without any wedding photos of the couple seems weird. Any idea if BS or professional photographers can actually take a few studio pix and develop within 1 month? How about makeover companies like Beautybox?

Any idea what are the things to take note for 'ala carte'? What things to prepare? Any recommendations where to rent or tailor-make WG, EG? Florists for car decor n hand bouquet n corsages? MAke-up/ hairdo? AD photographer/ videographer? Any other things to settle?

Please offer your advices! Would appreciate if someone could send me a list of things to do, contacts, etc. Thanks a lot!
