Hi m0m0, the 'tong shu' is already out on 25th July which is lunar seven mth. So you shld be able to get yr dates liao. For me, its same as clueless... we picked date with help from geomancer using lunar bday of me and my bf. Better get it soon if u want June 07 cos venues are harder to book and getting limited as well. Other than that, gd PG and VG if u are interested must book early too! Else, they will all be taken up. Bridal shop can be selected after these as the BS wont run away or turn u away... so just my few cents worth of thots loh.

not sure abt others, but there are some geomancer who can use old method to calculate the dates for u even when 2007 tong shu is not out yet. That's how i got my date. If u're looking at wkends, better hurry! cos heard frm other BTB whose AD falls on dec hv oreadi booked their venue long ago!

i'm new here but saw ur enquiry about hotel intercon.. well, just called them up.. they require min 30 or 35 tables on Sat i think.. i told them i got 25 tables only.. but was told that even i got 25, i hv to fork out the money for 35 tables cos its a min revenue for them which i think doesnt make sense to me.

Hi YP HL,

I think for most of the hotels they will have a smaller ballroom..
do they have for intercon?
cos for most of the hotels if u cant hit the min for the big ballrooms they will recommend u to take the smaller ballrooms..

if u cant hit their min and u still want their hotel u would have to pay the $$ for the min tables..
which is not worth it lor
u can find other hotels that can accomdate to ur 25 tables..

Hi Jenn,

I indicated DIY cos I'm not signing up with any bridal studio, and not that I'm making my gowns from scratch. Sorry for the confusion.

I've engaged a make up artist (freelancer) and I've purchased my wedding and evening gowns (OTR with some additional embellishments per my request). Still need to look for my tea dress though. Fiance has purchased his jacket but would need to purchase a mandarin collar jacket to match my tea dress.

Fiance will be making the flower bouquet for me instead of buying from a florist. His aunt who attended classes on floral arrangement will be giving him guidance.

Car decoration is, according to my fiance, simple... He'll be settling it. He mentioned buying some flowers and the ribbons and attaching it to the car.

We considered engaging BS services but realised we didn't need the photo album. And the pricing for the photo album and photography services resulted in a bulk of the BS package price. That's why we decided to do it ourselves.

We will still be having photoshoot but these would be outdoor photoshoots with a freelancer. We don't plan to develop big photo albums.

If you still keen on regent, give other coordinator a chance, not all are that bad. Look for Wele, he is the catering sales manager. He is very polite and he follow up things well.

Yah,we also got our date from a fengshui master... any diff btwn a fengshui master and a geomancer?

He calculate our lunar bdays and derive the auspicious date even b4 Tong Shu is out. After we got the dates we quickly go to the restaurants we like and place deposit in case we din get what we like...

I agree that can choose BS after settling the AD venue cos there are SO MANY BS around...you look for them rather they look for u...

I have made tentative booking for reception hall as well as the belvedere. Any comments on these two ballroom? I dun really like the belvedere cos got four pillars.

I got to know Jawn thru this forum.
They were my second stop for BS shopping. Very pleased wif them and they really take pride in their work!

Infact, after visiting them, we were kind of under their "spell"!!!

Cuz after that when we visit the rest of the BS we shortlisted, me and hb will have the same thinking "Jawn will do better!!!"

5th Aug will come in a blink! It's worth the wait! heehee.

hey xy..

actually what you can do with HDB after collecting your keys is to write in to them and request for extension for submission of ROM cert up to the date you hold your wedding. that is what i've done (solemnization and banquet same day) but you need to support your request with documents such as banquet contract (with evidence of deposit paid), or if applicable, a letter from church leader.

at least you can take your time with renovations and not rush everything towards the end.

the key idea is to prove to HDB you WILL be holding a wedding, just not so soon

another incident tht happened during her wedding,a few of her friends went over to the opposite orchard hotel,so need to remind ur frends if u really holdn there.

oic... they have another smaller ballroom is max is 28.. but dun think have the garden view..
or Marina Mandarin Vanda Ballroom, its max is 32.. Carlton its max is 38.. Mertius Mandarin also have ballrooms for about 30 tables but u have to dun mind the pillars.. hope it helps..

actually i have not been the OPH ballroom but i wanted there mainly bec it was tung lok food lor, got hotel and good food and its quite reasonably priced and still got devils bar, not enuff can still drink somemore...haahaa

but i guess i will still go down to take a look at the ballroom.

funny thing is i have already gotten my BS package. passed on from my friend one, she is giving it to me as gift, as she dun plan to have her AD anymore now that she is pregnant
