Finally found a minute to come into the forum heee.
It is really not easy to be a mum!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And I really think all of you have been so great to come this far....
Hee have contacted Caityln when I was in hospital.
12th Feb night, Doctor said baby water level is running too low, must induce the very night
13th Feb midnight, go into hospital, induce with tablet inserted.... the nurse is very rough, so end up very painful and there she is grumbling i waste her medicine cos it melts as I am not relax enough. Like S***
13th 8am, put on drip as only 1cm dilated
13th 10am, put on epidural, i did not tahan too long.... was using breathing technique all the while, but the nurse came and tempted me hehee, said the doc who can administer is in the corner, ask me if i want, if not, later call the doc, he may need half hour to come, 15 min to setup and 15 min for medicine to take effect. so i scared liao heee, chickend out.
13th 11am, realised bb heat beat keep dropping if they increase the drip and contraction comes each time. Called doctor.
13th 12pm, doctor came and conclude baby in distress most prob the cord is around her, so must emergency op.... and he said epidural is sufficent.
13th 1pm, push into theatre with hubby, and baby is out within 10 min. The cord was around her leg....
I am trying to be a cow this moment...
May I ask, for the EBM, do you all feed with bottle? or spoon? cos hor, i ask my CL t o use spoon as i worry about nipple confusion. she said a bit wasteful.... cos will drip out.
I am trying to latch, but really tired, every 2 hourly must latch and then hor, i try to pump 3 times a day, morning, noon and before sleep. each time can only reach around 40 to 50 ml. I am not sure if this is right.
I am getting sore nipple too, and cos baby bites, there is some crack too.....
Not sure if this is normal. Please do give me some feedback.

for EBM, u can feed thru btl or directly latch on depend which is ur preference. all the things that u r now experiencing based on ur description is normal la...

Initally stage u pump around 40 - 50ml is normal, slowly you can pump more ya... the maxi i can pump each time is 300ml... ha ha ha
As the day Jayden was discharge, i didnt latch him cos of physical condition. So i have been feeding him with ebm in bottle until now.
As for your sore nipple, u can apply some cream to relive the pain

Actually all NB diaper are abt the same , is just the brand and price diff. Is all up to individual which brand u want to buy.
To concluse, DRYERS is the cheapest NB diaper available in the market whereas pampers & mammy poko NB are the most expensive brand !

don't worry about the vol of your milk, it will come in more so latch more. if not, then pump more and take more fish and drink more fluids and milk!
as for cracked and sore nipples, apply the medela cream meant for sore nipples. it really helps.

sorry one more question, thus it mean so far, none of your baby has nipple confusion when you intro bottle at the begining? I heard can only introduce after first month if you intend to latch on....

Cos hor, the one I have seen is Dr Lilian Lim at the Kidsclinic at Rivervale mall.
I am thinking of changing, cos hor, the nurses are very very black face heee.
Read that there is another Dr Vanessa at Kidslink at Compassvale Walk, wonder if she has the machine to scan for jaundice without blood test.....

Dr lilian from kidsclinic @ rivervale mall is quite good...but is forever a long wait without quene number, so forever, have to go to ask the nurse how many bb in front of me... they will always give priority to those who make appointment. Those walk in have to wait at least minimum 2 - 3 hours.

winnie, it's true that by seeing from naked eyes will do cos that time andrea can see from our own naked eyes that she has jaundice and true enough, when the nurse measure, it was at level 12. but then as wks go by, we saw that she got better and when we checked her again, it has indeed gone down. if jaundice is high, it's very obvious on the baby's skin and eyes one... so definitely can tell from naked eyes esp if the pd is expert liao.
winnie, it really depends on individual for the milk supply. for me, i need to latch to get it started and going.... and therefore latching is still the best esp in the long term cos simply by pumping, ss won't go up too much unless you belong to the blessed group of pp with abundant milk ss. but eventually, just by pumping alone, ss will still go down cos the suckling pressure from baby is definitely different from pump. baby has more pressure and that's why bb are the best pump in the world to clear all blocked milk ducts.... normal electronic pump didn't clear my blocked ducts so i still get my girl to latch when i have engorgement and blocked duct last time.

winnie, i would highly recommend you to latch if possible cos of the bond that will be created. i know it can be frustrating esp when bb needs it every 2 hrs but bear with it. once bb hits 1 month, usually can drag to 3 hrs or sometimes even 4 hrs as months goes by and when bb takes more from you. and latching has one very good benefits. it helps you to lose weight fast! i was back to the weight just before my wedding when i was on full breastfeeding and latching... but sad to say, now that i've stopped, the weight came back! and i do miss latching on andrea cos now she doesn't want to latch anymore and with her starting to teeth, latching is getting more painful.... so latch while you can. it's a privilege.

Regarding bf, truly speaking, it is the sore nipples and then baby never seems to have enough... she always fall asleep during feed and then wake up screaming for more.... so end up, I will have to supplement with my EBM. Is this normal?

winnie, my girl also tends to fall asleep while latching last time and it was like 5 mins into latching and she will zzz for 30 mins and then cry for milk again. so what i did was i try to touch her cheeks or call her or touch her elsewhere to prevent her from falling alseep and make sure she latch at least 20 mins on one breast first.....
for 1 wk with 60ml, that's good already. mine was only 60ml at 2nd week. if you want, i would recommend you to take freenugreek from GNC. my gynae prescribed the same capsules for me for breastmilk. when i finished that i went to gnc to get cos it's the same and that helps to boost milk supply. don't get the ones from pharmacy or unity. i tried them and it doesn't work. so far only gnc ones work. fyi, i took 2 each time and 3x a day so total is 6 a day.... max is 9 a day.
